View 17 RepliesWhen I hit ⌘+t to turn on the visualizer, it looks like the attached pic. It only uses the bottom left corner of the screen. But, when I hit escape and then select Full Screen/hit ⌘+f it works properly.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I go to play songs with the jelly visualizer on the visualizer will freeze for a few seconds after around 15 seconds, it is very annoying. I have an early 08 2.4GHz Macbook if anyone else with this model wants to see if theirs has the same problem incase it might be a hardware issue.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe title pretty much says it. If I uncheck the "show Visualizer in full screen" box it works, but if I have it checked it won't run the visualizer. Even if I am already running the visualizer then right click and choose show in full screen it just brings me back to the music page. This is realy been baffling me.
This particular system is running Windows 7 64 bit. My Win 7 Laptop running 32bit it works fine. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I figured it was worth a mention.
System Spec: Late 09 21" 3.06, GeForce 9400, 4gb ramCurrently I have itunes and safari running, if i enable the visualizer my imac is noticeably slower, especially when browsing the internet.I thought it might be the fact I was running a second 1080p display from the 9400 would have caused the slow down. But the same thing occurred after i disconnected it. After repairing permissions and restarting, pmram etc.Is the 9400 causing the slowdown? I know its fairly old but itunes visualizer and safari should be quite basic tasks. Its not the end of the world i know but does the 27" imac have similar issues as i plan to upgrade my machine in 2011.
From one day to the next, the Safari pdf visualizer stopped working. Now when I open a pdf link, I only see the 'grey' safari windows, plus a strange gibberish when i scroll the Safari window. The pdf is there, because I can save it or open it with Preview. I do use occasionally Adobe Acrobat pro (9), which I know to be a potential source of the problem. However, the adobe pdf plugin (which is mentioned in previous threads) was never installed.
What I have already done, and did not work:
1. erase all internet plugins (in ~/Library, as well as in /Library/. As I mentioned, the Adobe plugin was not ther)
2. deinstall Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, just in case
3. reinstall Safari from scratch
4. remove the ~/Library/Safari folder so that it would be recreated
5. remove all Safari extensions

My RSS Visualizer screen saver no longer displays 'Press the 1 key...', 'Press the 2 key...' etc below each headline like it used to. It's simply missing, but everything else works fine.
I actually use that feature to read the NY Times headlines, so I'd like to get it back. I searched for other people with the problem and found nothing.

I'd like my mac to monitor a specific folder, say 'TV Shows' and if a new file is added I'd like it to automatically put it into iTunes under TV shows, is this possible or is anyone aware of an application / script
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got a 24" iMac, with a second monitor attached for multi-tasking. I watch a lot of podcasts, and was wondering if there was a way for me to watch movies/tv/podcasts on the external monitor, in full-screen, while using the monitor on my iMac for other tasks.
When I put itunes into full-screen mode, both screens are used, making the external show the movie, and the iMac go black.
Any suggestions would be great!
I would like to write an iTunes visualizer plugin using Java. Is there a site for getting information on how to interface with iTunes via Java and how to monitor the audio output from iTunes?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a few-months-old Mac mini hooked up to an older Apple Cinema display (model A1081). When I try to play a TV show purchased from iTunes that's in HD or HD-SD format, I get the following error (and no video): This movie can be played only on displays that support HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection). Any way around this, or am I just stuck because this monitor is "old"?

I want to use the tv as a second monitor on my macbook rather than just use screen sharing to the mac mini.
Is there a program to let me do that? I googled it, but no results, so I am pretty sure it is a small chance of it being possible.
I've been running the Little Snitch demo for some time now and have been noticing that the links that it tells me are active are wrong. This is what I read when I hover my mouse over the icon in the menu bar.
For example I'm downloading the Aperture 2 manual now from Apple however Little Snitch says that Safari is downloading it from [URL] or something. Like what the heck?
No other webpage, download or application was using the internet at the time. Is it that Apple uses this address or is it that Little Snitch has gone crazy?
I'm fairly new to Macs so I am not quite familiar to what applications are out there that are available to me. The thing is I am currently using widgets in my Dashboard (iStat Pro and Temperature Monitor) that monitors system temps, but the problem is it tells me the temperature of what my MBP is at that moment. I want to know if there is a program that can take the max and min temps so I can keep track of how hot/cool my MBP is at all times.

I have a fresh install of Windows XP, service pack 2 on a boot camp partition on my macbook (13" first gen aluminum case) and a Apple LED Cinema Display attached to the mini display port.
I can't seem to make the Cinema Display the primary display (the "Use this device as the primary monitor" checkbox is always greyed out in the Display Property Settings tab). I also can't shut the macbook lid and continue to use it closed (with kb, mouse and monitor attached) like I would when booting OSX.
Is there some other way to make the Cinema Display the primary monitor, so I can leave the macbook closed when booting into Windows?
I have a G4 powerbook with an LCD that only displays the top 25% of the screen. I've been using an external monitor with it just fine. Today, I reinstalled the OS and ran into a problem. The main OSX startup menu (you know, where it asks for your location, timezone, personal info, etc) is prompting me for information, and I can't see the forms to fill them in! The external monitor defaults to "extended" as opposed to "mirrored", and the forms are embedded, meaning I can't drag them over to my external monitor. Obviously, if I can't fill out these forms and get to the desktop, the laptop is completely useless.
Does anyone know how to force the external monitor to be "mirrored" from startup? Is there a keycommand?
I have been using the latest macbook pro 13.3" since April 2010. Over the last week the monitor suddenly goes completely white and the external monitor goes black. The laptop becomes unresponsive although the programmes opened continue running (e.g a skype voice call would continue without interruption although the monitor is all white).
The only solution at the moment is to press the turn off button for a few seconds then switch the laptop on again. It will then work normally until for no apparent reason this happens again.
I have a macbook pro from 2007, and I just popped into a tagsale and picked up one 2001 Mac Studio Monitor and a 2001 Fomac Gallery monitor.. So I was hoping to use the monitors with my laptop because the small screen on this laptop is KILLING me, and i'm not yet prepared (financially) to get a powermac.. Paid $10 for both of them..
my issue right now is, the monitor's cable doesnt match the input on my compuer. I need a ACD DVI clip cable.. Now, i looked them up and the price is $100! Call me naive, but i had no clue a connector cable would ever cost that much..
So basically, I am curious if there was a different option to get this to work with my computer OR if there is a place to get a used or "extra" cable
I am able to monitor my wireless network no problem using something as simple as iStat pro but, for example, my xbox is connected to the router via ethernet cable so doesn't appear on any of the apps I have for found for monitoring network traffic. Is there an app that i can use to monitor the source i.e. the router itself, to see what speed/bandwidth the ethernet ports are using?

View 15 Replies View RelatedSince a few days something randomly appears in the dock for a split second. It doesn't stay on for enough time to really see what it is. I've tried to narrow it down but I couldn't find anything in the logs. All I know is that perceived by peripheral vision, it looks similar to the Console icon. I'd really like to know, since this behavior is quite suspicious. Is there an app recording the start of a new process? Alternatively I could make a screenshot every 125ms, but that's not really an elegant solution (plus an image of this icon). I haven't installed anything except Lyx and ProVoc recently.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if it's possible to send video to another computer using a network, and use it as an external screen. Now the biggest problem: The slave computer has to be a windows computer.
We have LCD screens with built-in computer, and it's windows. It's used for a lighting show.
At the moment I can only use the screen record function on the main MacBook monitor. I move the QuickTime window around but it will still only record the main monitor. Other than changing the monitor on which the menu bar is located, is there a way to record on a second screen?

Is there a software to monitor the Bandwidth consumption for Mac.
I use Bandwidth Monitor Pro for Windows and its good. But I guess they do not have it Mac.
Activity Monitor does a good job of showing the current speed and the total amount of data downloaded / uploaded, but thats just good for one session.
I am looking for some software that helps me view this information over a period of time.
