When I hit ⌘+t to turn on the visualizer, it looks like the attached pic. It only uses the bottom left corner of the screen. But, when I hit escape and then select Full Screen/hit ⌘+f it works properly.
When I go to play songs with the jelly visualizer on the visualizer will freeze for a few seconds after around 15 seconds, it is very annoying. I have an early 08 2.4GHz Macbook if anyone else with this model wants to see if theirs has the same problem incase it might be a hardware issue.
The title pretty much says it. If I uncheck the "show Visualizer in full screen" box it works, but if I have it checked it won't run the visualizer. Even if I am already running the visualizer then right click and choose show in full screen it just brings me back to the music page. This is realy been baffling me.
This particular system is running Windows 7 64 bit. My Win 7 Laptop running 32bit it works fine. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but I figured it was worth a mention.
System Spec: Late 09 21" 3.06, GeForce 9400, 4gb ramCurrently I have itunes and safari running, if i enable the visualizer my imac is noticeably slower, especially when browsing the internet.I thought it might be the fact I was running a second 1080p display from the 9400 would have caused the slow down. But the same thing occurred after i disconnected it. After repairing permissions and restarting, pmram etc.Is the 9400 causing the slowdown? I know its fairly old but itunes visualizer and safari should be quite basic tasks. Its not the end of the world i know but does the 27" imac have similar issues as i plan to upgrade my machine in 2011.
From one day to the next, the Safari pdf visualizer stopped working. Now when I open a pdf link, I only see the 'grey' safari windows, plus a strange gibberish when i scroll the Safari window. The pdf is there, because I can save it or open it with Preview. I do use occasionally Adobe Acrobat pro (9), which I know to be a potential source of the problem. However, the adobe pdf plugin (which is mentioned in previous threads) was never installed.
What I have already done, and did not work:
1. erase all internet plugins (in ~/Library, as well as in /Library/. As I mentioned, the Adobe plugin was not ther)
2. deinstall Adobe Acrobat Pro 9, just in case
3. reinstall Safari from scratch
4. remove the ~/Library/Safari folder so that it would be recreated
My RSS Visualizer screen saver no longer displays 'Press the 1 key...', 'Press the 2 key...' etc below each headline like it used to. It's simply missing, but everything else works fine.
I actually use that feature to read the NY Times headlines, so I'd like to get it back. I searched for other people with the problem and found nothing.

I am a new mac user (total convert--am on my second iMac in a month and am about to buy a macbook), and am having trouble with my itunes service. My first 24" iMac developed a clicking HDD, so I was lucky enough to be able to bring it back to the shop for a replacement iMac. I made a time machine backup of the first Mac and copied directly to the second one (which was flawless....how come I haven't been using macs prior to now? I've lost dozens of backups on PC). The only issue I've had is with iTunes--I keep getting an error that the iTunes library is newer than the version of iTunes on the computer. Is there anyway to fix this without losing my entire library of songs? I did make up a physical copy of the iTunes folder on my first Mac, just in case, so I assume that I could delete iTunes and reinstall a fresh copy, update it, and then copy the iTunes folder over to the new version. But this is a Windows approach to the issue and there is probably a simpler way of fixing this. Alternately, I could do the same but sync my iPod and copy everything to my library that way.
I have a batch of HD video downloads in my iTunes Store queue that I can't delete. Before it was annoying, having to purchase both the regular video and HD video, then delete the unwanted HD download from my queue list, but now it's a problem. I can't empty the unwanted HD downloads, and for me to download them all will tie up my connection for a week or more.
I loved the Genius Recommendation Panel on iTunes 9 and found lots of new songs and artists when using itI cannot believe Apple removed it from iTunes 10 and replaced it with a social networking site with the awful title "Ping" So I replaced iTunes 9 last night, only to find that it wouldn't accept my iTunes library. I managed to reload the songs, but I have lost all my playlists, star ratings, play counts, etc. Its all gone.
Brand new convert to Mac here: After receiving an iPod Touch from my boss when he upgraded to an iPhone, I have fallen in love with the Mac hardware and OS. I just got a new macbook and would like to transfer my iTunes from my old PC laptop. I am also a neophyte to iTunes so forgive me if there is a very simplistic answer to this issue.
The physical music is located on my external drive connected to the PC with the iTunes original music locations pointed to it . My specific question is, if I backup iTunes, restore to the Mac, plug in the external drive to the Mac, will it work seamlessly? I'm not sure if the existing iTunes music locations will re-synch since the music locations on the laptop iTunes are mapped to the "G:" drive. If it won't work that way, what do you recommend as the best way to go about it? I want to make sure I don't waste as much time as when I initially set up my iTunes/iPod touch (simply stuck in "PC" mindset).
I think I found a bug in iTunes, because I can find no other explanation. Every once in a while (like once every three weeks) my iTunes window goes down. By this I mean everytime i click a different playlist, view, category, iTunes store, the window moves down a bit leaving this gap at the top. It randomly comes and goes, and its not really a big deal, but it does get really annoying. Is anyone else getting this? and no, im not just moving the window down
As the main title says I am trying to find out why Itunes adds a folder for each new song that I add to Itunes it very nice if you have a few albums but when you intend to add a few thousand songs it could becoming a House Keeping problem.
I have an AOL iTunes account and would like to convert it into a regular iTunes account. I know how to do this but I used my AIM screen name and I don't have a credit card so I can't use the method from Apple Knowledge Base. Is there any other way to do this?
Just went from Windows to mac and want to bring my windows itunes playlists. when I hit export and save it on a usb and hit import in mac itunes, then I get the playlist but its all empty. It kinda sucks if I have to sort out all the good stuff again, so I hope I can get my old playlist back. I have it on my ipod touch as well, so I dunno if you can transfer playlist from ipod to mac
Im just curious if its a good idea to download itunes software from a site not affiliated with apple? Should i worry about glitches and problems or is it a pretty common thing? Just let me know what you think.
Okay, I know that when iTunes LPs and iTunes Extras first came out, iTunes could not play them full screen.
I don't know when it happened, but I just noticed that I *CAN* play them full screen now. (Either by selecting "View" -> "Full Screen"; hitting Command-F, or clicking a new "Full screen" widget at the upper-right on the "title bar" for the LP/Extra within the content pane of iTunes.)
But, strangely, this only appears on one of my computers, even though both are running the same version of OS X (10.6.2,) and the same version of iTunes (9.0.2.)
Does anyone know the secret to enabling this? I have checked every single setting in iTunes, both menus and preferences, and they are all perfectly matched between the two computers.
i use to be able for example take a .mp3 that is on my desktop and drag it into itunes and it would then be in the music list on itunes, now i cant do it, i have updated to the latest version and still nothing... i have reinstalled itunes it worked i restarted the computer and i open itunes and i can
I have 2 macs with two completely independent iTunes databases. They are used for differnt purposes and contain different music. I really do not want to merge these two databases.
From time to time I need to selectively transfer some few songs from the one computer to the other one. Is there a clever way I can achieve this? I would like to transfer the files including the metadata.
I just switched from PC to Macbook pro. How can i transfer music in itunes in my PC to itunes in my new mac. Is there any free sofware i could use to transfer all the music? I used one software, but it is not free and i tried the unregistered version which only enabled me to transfer 500 songs, but i have 800-ish songs.
Is the there a way to force iTunes to store my mobile applications on my external drive automatically?I have my library set to an external and all my music, movies, etc goes onto the proper location except the mobile applications. I know I can use the consolidate library command, which will move the apps to the external. But as soon as I d/l another app iTunes begins saving them to the default folder again.
im trying to decide between the new iTunes Plus on iTunes and the amazon MP3. Both offer DRM free music in large libraries. What do u think is the best, please provide rhyme and reason for each.Dont just say itunes, etc
does anyone know of a straight forward way of ripping a DVD to iTunes, with artwork and film information all in one go? I want to get my DVD collection digital.
I downloaded a short video about WW2 from iTunes U but then i deleted it but even though the itunes U section is now empty the iTunes U section on the left hand Library list is still there.
