Applications :: Transfer The Playlist To My IPod Touch (iTunes Playlist Order)?
Aug 16, 2008
I'm putting together a huge selection of reggae and island music for a luau and was wondering if, when I transfer the playlist to my iPod Touch, if it will keep the order of the songs or rearrange them to alphabetical. I'd like to keep the order I put it in, not alphabetical. Thoughts?
I have recently formatted my computer and put all my mp3s back on from my backup on time machine. I am now trying to transfer a playlist to my ipod touch but not all songs are syncing from the playlist? I have authorised the computer for my purchases. Any ideas?
I am relatively new to iTunes, and have burned dozens of CDs before. However, all of those CDs have been complete albums. I tried to burn my first mix recently, and found that the CD had been burned with the songs in the wrong order.
I must be doing something wrong, but there doesn't seem to be too many areas where iTunes makes it even possible to mess something this simple up, so I pretty confused.
I make a playlist, hit burn CD, select Audio CD, and go. The songs make it, but like I said, in the wrong order. They get organized by album, but I just want the CD to look like the playlist on the computer.
Has anyone run into something like this? It is iTunes 8.0.2.
I have been working on a playlist and want to send it over to a friend via dropbox. However when I move the playlist to a folder outside of iTunes the order of the songs changes. How do I stop it form doing this?
Whenever I make a playlist in iTunes to the order I want to burn the songs in, after the CD has been burned it has changed the order of the songs. I have tried clicking on the 'copy to play order' button on that playlist folder, but nothing seems to work.Â
I know that I used to be able to drag songs to a different order in my iTunes playlists, but tonight, no matter the order that I add the songs to the playlist, or Smart Playlist, the order of the songs is alphabetically arranged, and the only other option is to click on "name" but then it just does reverse alphabetical order. Is something different, in a recent iTunes upgrade? I'm a music teacher and I am trying to put the songs in the order that my students will be performing them next week?

Why is it that I have songs sorted in a certain order (tracks 1 to 10 for instance) and on my iphone, they're in reverse from 10 to 1. I double checked playlist on iTunes and re-synced. Same thing. Is there a fix for this?

migrate my music to another computer, but I'm afraid of losing what I have checked and unchecked in "music" library. So let me explain a little more, not a created playlist or smart playlist. If you were to go through every single song you have and uncheck what you don't listen to this is the "master list" I'm referring to.
I recently purchased a macbook pro and need to transfer my playlists from my pc to my mac. I have already transfered my library but my playlists were extensively long. Home sharing will not work as I am often on the road and without an internet connection.
I have a playlist with songs that I have put comments on, ratings and so on. I want to share this playlist with another person (my boss, actually), how do I easily get this playlist to his computer with all the comments and ratings still on?

I have a nice playlist full of 8 GB of music, now I want to transfer those files (in no particular order) onto my mini USB thumb drive to use in my car. What is the best way to do this in an organized way? I was thinking of right clicking on every album and "reveal in finder", then manually transfer that album's folder to keep it all organized in the USB drive. I'm trying to setup a few USB drives to function like an old multi-CD changer would.
I have an older iPod that has some playlists on it that are not in my iTune library. I want this same playlist on my iPhone but when I do an 'export' then try to drag and drop into my phone I get a message saying it did not copy because 'it cannot be played on this phone'. I also cannot drag and drop it into iTunes anywhere either. All of these songs are in my library, I just don't want to have to go through and remake this playlist to add to my phone.
Can I transfer with icloud to my ipad and then icloud transfer to mackbook air? I didn't by the songs in the playlist on the macbook, so they didn't transfer automatically and I have 1300 songs to transfer. It takes too long saving them to a bunch of cd's.
I am trying to copy some songs from my playlist to a CD but it changes the order of the songs during the conversion. I want the songs in alphabetical by name but iTunes arranges them alphabetically by artist.
I'm actually not even sure where to post this. I just attempted to burn an iTunes playlist to CD using my MacBook Pro. However, when we attempted to import the cd to my Niece's windows computer the CD title as well as each song were titled "we suck". This is very odd because the titles are correct when viewing the CD using my MacBook. Has anyone ever seen this before? Could this be a virus or something?
For some reason I'm no longer able to add mp3 files to an iTunes playlist. I can play the songs individually but can't make a playlist with the files. When I try to drag and drop them they just get a red cross and they don't get added.
I've found since updating to iTunes 10.1 that my playlists occasionally skip to the next track during playback. This has never happened before. I haven't tried to replicate it elsewhere, but did try a local reinstall. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
I have a fair bit of music in iTunes, and it has bugged me somewhat that often when I want to delete many files something it's easier to go into a playlist to find them. But when I delete them from there it only removes them from that playlist, not the computer. I guess this makes sense, and I suppose nowadays space isn't often a problem.
In case this isn't clear, what I want to do is go into a playlist, then select songs, then delete those songs from my hard drive.
I have a friend that is coming to visit but they wont be bringing their mac. However they want to be able to play some of their tunes on my mac. is there a way to save an itunes playlist and have it playable on another mac? If they logged in through the itunes store or something?
For some reason when I go to drag music to a playlist in iTunes, it will not move. Then I restart the program and it will work, but only for a little while and then it is back to not being able to move again. I tried clearing the preference files and no luck.
after you purchase songs from the itunes store it goes into the playlist purchased. i loved the way it was sorted. as in once i bought a song it would go to the bottom of the playlist. somehow i screwed that sorting option up. anyone know how to get it back to how it was originally sorted?
