Has anyone gotten their hands on Outlook for the Mac yet. How does it compare to Apple mail? I am only interested in the email client part. Can this be separated from the rest of outlook?
Can this synch with the iphone? If so how?
Are there alternative email clients for the Mac that are better than apple mail? By this, i mean non web based clients.
I had to clean install, & went back to OS 10.3 uprrading to 10.3.9
I have 10.4.1 but my PowerBook G4 won't install it.
It also won't install itunes 8 , necessary to sync with my iphone.
I download apps DIRECTLY to my iPhone and iPad 2 I do not download via iTunes.
When I plug in my iPad or phone (device from now on) and sync it in iTunes, it transfers and backups MY purchases fine. However the left window pane does not show the INSTALLED apps.
Theres only a list of apps, none with check marks , even if they are present on the phone or iPad. If select sync apps, it tells me it will DELETE all the apps on my device.
Am I doing something wrong, or is there a way to make iTunes place a check mark or recognize what IS ALREADY on my device with out having to start from scratch and delete all my apps by forcing me To manually select what apps I want installed on my device (which are already on my device!) Am I missing a step someplace? Shouldn't my library on my device show up on the left side of ITunes pane with apps INSTALLED already checked?

iPhone5 & MacBook Air are no longer automatically synching my contacts entered on either device.
I don't know what I caused to make this change.
So all of a sudden Gmail is not synching with all my devices properly.. I use Mac Mail on my Powerbook, Iphone, and iPad, but if I read the email on one device, it won't get sent to other devices.. So essentially read mails do not get pushed.. I've never had this problem until about 2 weeks ago.. Anyone have a solution? I'm thinking of stop using my Gmail because of this...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently synched my iPhone 3gs with the iCloud. Then I aslo synched it with my Mac (mac pro laptop running Lion?). Result is that the Address Book on the Mac looks like the one on my iPhone. But, then I added some contacts on my iPhone, returned to the Mac, opened the Mac Address Book, but the new and updated contacts are not there. I thought the iCloud would synch these to the Mac! Also, should I have added the iCloud as an account on my Mac Address Book for this to work? My Mac Address Book preferences only shows two acconts, Yahoo and on my Mac (local).

It seems that the sent items are not synched: a message sent from machine A cannot be found in the sent items of machine B.

I've been having a problem trying to Synch my Address Book with Google. At some point in the past it worked but it doesnt anymore.
I have tried "rebuilding it" by cleaning up the ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/
I have tried cleaning up the ~/Library/Caches and /Library/Caches I have tried cleaning the /Library/Preferences/com.apple.AddressBook.*
Nothing has worked.
I can export the Google Contacts in Vcard and Import fully.

I deleted some important contacts from my Address Book, which is synched with iCloud, recently.I restored my Address Book from a Time Machine back up which had the important addresses still included.But every time I open Address Book on my MacBook, it tries to synch with iCould, which is missing the contacts and therefore immediately deletes them.I have turned iClound sync off in my System Preferences, but because the Address Book Time Machine backup I am trying to restore from has iCloud 'enabled' in the Address Book preferences, every time I open it, it resets my System Preferences back to syncing Address Book with iCloud and it deletes the contacts I am trying to restore upon the application start up.How do I actually restore Address Book from a Time Machine back up and keep iCloud from overwriting that?

I used Macthe Ripper to rip my sons chuggington dvd to my macbook pro, then i used handbrake to convert it, i managed to copy the converted file to my itunes library, but when i symc my iphone 3gs, it says it won't copy the file because it can't be played on my iphone.Several forums mention using the iphone/ipod touch preset when converting in Hnadbrake, now i may be a numpty, but i cant find this preset anywhere?! The closest thing i can see is an apple button/setting.when i selected apple and told it to play again, it said it would overwrite the prev converted verison. It took hours to convert the first time, if I do this, will it really work? Or will I waste another 3 hours?!
View 4 Replies View RelatedJust set up my iphone MyNZB app to work with my home MBP. I set up DynDNS to direct the app to my dynamic home IP and I'm hooked. I wanna do more! My computer at work sadly is a PC. If I want to use my mobileme back to my mac option, I've gotta find a Mac to login and do so with. It's great, but it's not convenient. Question is, there's so much VNC and RDC type programs out there, both paid and free. And there's different stuff for the iphone. What's people's recommendations? Is there a good free/cheap option that works on iPhones, PCs, and maybe even other Macs for me to remote into? Something so if I wanted to get some tasks done at home I could use my work computer? Of course any port forwarding that I'd need to do on the work end can't happen. But at home it's no problem of course. Oh, and my home's router is an AEBS.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have absolutely had it with this horrible POS program. I don't think they could have made itunes any more complicated for syncing apps and music. The second you want to change something it has to delete everything and resync it. All of a sudden I cant delete my own f**#ing music from my iphone with itunes? I go and right click my library and there is no remove option, nor do I see anywhere else where I can do that. I've had it with this frustrating steaming POS. Everytime I plug in my iphone it has to go through some stupid process that takes forever when all I want to do is sync one f$*(ing song, and if i make any sort of change it has to delete every little thing.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4 as well as a Mac loaded with the new Facetime beta - after all the fun of calling myself from my phone to computer and calling a couple friends from my computer it dawned on me that when someone wants to facetime with me, they have to know where I am at. If they call me via my email address they will get me on my Mac, but if they call me on my phone number they will get my phone...obviously - what I am saying is that by having 2 places to look it makes it difficult to just "call someone".
I understand that this is no different than finding someone at home/cell/office numbers, but there are features for those to locate you - I wonder if Apple has addressed this or will in the final release? I think what is needed is a way for facetime to have "find me" feature. I think that maybe it could "ring" in to the Mac first, then to the iPhone second, or vice vera depending on how you want it set in your preferences.
I don't ever do any video converting and now need a application to convert a .wmv file to a file supported on the iPhone 4.

Everything works fine, except iPhone Ringtone which does nothing, doesn't make any templates appear in the window or anything.
Firstly, the video doesnt play with anything except VLC on a Mac... quicktime simply replies with the message "An invalid public movie atom was found in the movie" and refuses to budge.
Secondly, I have a full version of VisualHub and Handbrake. Till date VH has never failed me but all of a sudden it says that 5.1 AAC is not supported.
Using Handbrake and the iPhone preset results in a disastrous transcode with ghastly sound effects like those in a horror movie... I later gathered that it was the same sound but playing at an extremely slow pace.

I've now got a bunch of movies I've downloaded elsewhere in HD, and when I create a iPhone version for them I now got 2 separate files in my iTunes.
Is there any way to bundle them into one?

I have the 3gs. For some reason whenever i sync to itunes, iphoto doesn't pop up. Problem is that i can't get my photos to sync into iphoto. i have the 10.6.3 software which supposedly fixes this problem but it still won't sync.
I am wondering why I cannot open my png image from an iphone on my CS3 photoshop (real photoshop - not cracked)
When opening it says it cannot open the file - parsing.. yet my mac system can see the image in ta thumbnail just fine.
