Applications :: Iphoto Not Syncing With Iphone?
Jun 9, 2010This is a issue that i think iphone users have quite a bit.
I have the 3gs. For some reason whenever i sync to itunes, iphoto doesn't pop up. Problem is that i can't get my photos to sync into iphoto. i have the 10.6.3 software which supposedly fixes this problem but it still won't sync.

May 23, 2009So I admit to fiddling around with the iPhoto folder in my Pictures section before I knew that was a bad idea. Basically I was trying to move pictures out of my iPhone library into another folder on my computer so they would be out of my iPhone library on my comp and my phone.
Anyway, now for some reason there are duplicates on my iPhone in the Photos app but not in the iPhoto app on my Mac. Any thoughts on what the hell I did?

Feb 25, 2009Every time I plug in my iPhone it causes iPhoto to autostart on my comp. I find this to be very annoying since I rarely upload photos from my phone. How do I turn this autostart off? I know there must be some way to do this through the registry.

The library file is currently on the NAS and just wanted to use the same one. Would it allow me to sync my iPhone with the PC and the iPad with the MBA using the same library on the NAS? I know this is more of an iTunes question, but figured I would post it here instead of starting another thread.

May 27, 2012When I plug my iPhone 4 into my Mac to sync, iTunes does not appear to detect my iPhoto library. Activating the "Sync Photos from 'iPhoto'" option does not allow me to select individual albums, faces, etc. to sync. Attempting to sync result in the error "iTunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone 'Kyle Cunanan's iPhone' because your iPhoto Library could not be found. Open iPhoto to create or update your iPhoto Library." Opening iPhoto shows no problems. All my photos are still there, just as I've left them.

Due to the problem it was having I was unable to back up, I found this out when I tried to and my external hd back up failed . I have everything on my iPhone that I really need, iTunes and iPhoto library. I is there anyway to take that from my iPhone and put it on my computer?

Apr 10, 2012I imported a photo into iPhoto. If I click on it, click actions and share to Photostream, I get a message saying it is already in Photostream. Yet, it does not show up in the iPhoto Photostream folder on my Mac. Nor does it show up in my iPhone Photostream folder. I believe I have iCloud set up properly on both devices and have configured iPhoto correctly. Is there something I can do to force a sync?

Jun 10, 2012I am trying to copy 3 photos from an album in iPhoto to my iPhone. I have tried to move them to PhotoStream. I "select" the photos in the Album and then click on PhotoStream in the "Share" menu at the bottom of the screen. Nothing happens. I have also tried emailing them tyo myself but iPhoto won't send the email. It tells me it doesn't recognize my ID and password. My operating is Lion on an iMac.

Oct 6, 2010I used Macthe Ripper to rip my sons chuggington dvd to my macbook pro, then i used handbrake to convert it, i managed to copy the converted file to my itunes library, but when i symc my iphone 3gs, it says it won't copy the file because it can't be played on my iphone.Several forums mention using the iphone/ipod touch preset when converting in Hnadbrake, now i may be a numpty, but i cant find this preset anywhere?! The closest thing i can see is an apple button/setting.when i selected apple and told it to play again, it said it would overwrite the prev converted verison. It took hours to convert the first time, if I do this, will it really work? Or will I waste another 3 hours?!

Is there a way to prevent iphoto from loading all of them without deleting the videos from my iPhoto library? I have about a 30 minute video I would like to edit I'm frustrated.How about removing all those clips except the ones I care about? Can I do that? (after waiting 20-30 minutes for them to load)

Jan 27, 2009Thought I'd start this thread for people to discover/add any info they have on what iPhoto Faces is doing behind the scenes to help with troubleshooting, since Apple doesn't have any preferences for Faces in the iPhoto GUI. This is only for people who like to understand what is happening behind the scenes. Please note this is not for everyone and anytime you do anything to your iPhoto library you risk corruption and should have a backup copy. What I've noticed so far:
- iPhoto scans the library the first time it opens, and creates 2 faces .db files with the iPhoto Library:
face_blob.db
face.db
- iPhoto creates Faces thumbnails files and places them in the iPhoto Library/Data folder along with the other thumbnails it creates................

Jan 27, 2010I am transferring info from an iBook G4 running Tiger to a MacBook running Snow Leopard. Everything is going well, except for my ability to transfer the iPhoto library. I have mounted the iBook to the MacBook via Firewire. When I transferred my iPhoto library from my MB to my new MBP, it was easy: all I had to do was drag over "iPhoto Library" from User>Pictures>iPhoto Library But it isn't set up the same way on the iBook: in User>Pictures, "iPhoto Library" is a folder instead of a small iPhoto icon (which you would need to right-click on to see its contents). When I copied the contents of the folder into "iPhoto Library" on the new MacBook, it didn't maintain all of the organization (eg. the albums). Is there any way to do this so that iPhoto will keep the organization of the photo library on the new MacBook, or am I destined to reorganize my thousands of photos into albums again? Please keep in mind that the MacBook is being set up as a new computer, and I am copying over the files/docs/music/photos that she wants to keep from the iBook. I am not using Migration Assistant.

Jan 22, 2010I'm a recent convert to RAW and have been shooting Christmas, New Years and such in this lovely format. Only problem is the CR2 files generated are starting to make a dent in my HDD space. Is there a way to rip an independent JPEG from the RAW file once I've finished processing them? I've tried just removing the .CR2 files but iPhoto wouldn't show a detailed JPEG so I've put them back for now.

Nov 10, 2010Just set up my iphone MyNZB app to work with my home MBP. I set up DynDNS to direct the app to my dynamic home IP and I'm hooked. I wanna do more! My computer at work sadly is a PC. If I want to use my mobileme back to my mac option, I've gotta find a Mac to login and do so with. It's great, but it's not convenient. Question is, there's so much VNC and RDC type programs out there, both paid and free. And there's different stuff for the iphone. What's people's recommendations? Is there a good free/cheap option that works on iPhones, PCs, and maybe even other Macs for me to remote into? Something so if I wanted to get some tasks done at home I could use my work computer? Of course any port forwarding that I'd need to do on the work end can't happen. But at home it's no problem of course. Oh, and my home's router is an AEBS.
