Applications :: Searching Mouse Macro Recorder?
Feb 20, 2007
I have searched for this, but cannot find any.. I need to do some raw mouseclicks on certain coordinates on the screen, and then loop it forever until I stop it. Anyone know any programs that can do this?
I tried to fiddle around with apple script, but can't figure out how to do that.

Heres a site that has a good Mac mouse and keyboard recorder application.[URL]
The 4.0 version and above will record right clicks. You can try their free version or buy a product code to use it without a time limit. There are other Mac based products there to.
The mouse recorder does have problems with its right click for using on safari and other applications.
The site is currently under construction so the downloads are unavailable.
If you have found a better recorder then this one, post here or on this site, I will be looking.

I want a program where I can press some sort of combination of keys and I'll get a prompt, and then I can type a command that I can customize and it'll type the custom output.
For Instance:
I hit option-alt-space and something comes up and i type gotoserver and it types ssh -l user 192.168.1.1 so it types it in the terminal for me.
or maybe even opens up terminal and types that in for me maybe it could even wait for a prompt or for some time and then type the password too.
I got quickeys but I can't get it to do anything like this.

I spent at least 30 minutes struggling with my new computer because the path name of my macros had changed. Turns out, you must manually change every item in your Excel palettes that calls a macro. That's easy, you control click on the palette icon, select 'assign macro', and choose the macro.
But although that command was not greyed-out, when I selected it, nothing would happen. There was no error message.
I found no solutions on the internet, and in the course of the 30 minutes, tried various desperate things involving new taskbars, searching for mysterious excel.xlb files, VBA scripts to build taskbars. In the course of that, I broke a bunch of things on the palette. But I found the solution, and joined this group, just so I could tell the world.
You have to have some worksheet open.
Yes, that's it. It makes no sense, but that's it.

I am trying to make an excel sheet on all of my photos. I have found a program to exports exif information in html or txt files and it is the only program I have found that displays the fields I need (Windows XP title, comments, keywords, etc). Anyway, the program will only export all of the data (I can't just select the fields I want) and it also makes a new files for each photos (and names them whatever the photo is named so yes sequential). I have been playing with importing html and txt files into Excel 2008 and need help. I am looking for a way to only import the rows I need and to automate it so I don't have to do 10,000 photos by hand.
On another forum, it was suggested to use VBA (visual basics) in excel on windows which looks promising but I know little about it and will have to borrow my sister's dell to do. Another suggestion was to combine the text files and use a Macro in excel in which I also have little idea on how to use. Can Apple Script or Automator or any thing else help me here? I know Excel 2008 for Mac doesn't have VB but what about macro on it?

some of my Word documents are infected with a macro virus. I'm not sure how many are infected, although I know it's not all Word docs. I'm running Office 2004 for Mac Student and Teacher Edition. How can I fix this? I'd like to prevent other docs from also becoming infected. I have no anti-virus installed and I'm still running Tiger 10.4.11 (hoping Apple releases Snow Leopard soon so I can finally upgrade).

I recently bought an LG HD Recorder. After the purchase, I only then realised that it is only connectable to PC via a software called "Nero Media Home 4 Essentials". Therefore this software cannot be used on a Mac. I wrote to LG and theyconfirmed that it is only for PC and they do not intend to issue one that is to be used for Mac. It would be awesome to be able to connect Mac with the HD Recorder, as I can then stream music from iTunes etc. As such I am not able to fully use this incredible piece of equipment.

I'm looking for a screen recorder that can record my gaming.
I play Assault cube on my Mac, and my other screen recorders make it very blurry and delayed when I record my game play.
I need it to be able to record Screen, Microphone, and computer audio. I don't care if it cost money.

The other day I noticed an Opera icon on my dock, clicked and not surprisingly, Opera appeared. I have never installed Opera and Im the only one who has ever touched my macbook. I quit out of it, and it disappeared off my dock, which means not only had it installed itself but run all by itself too. So I went straight to my apps folder to find and delete it and it wasn't there. A spotlight search came up with nothing too? How is this even possible with the permission system of OS X? Any ideas on how to find out if/where it is installed?

Just wondering if there's such a thing as a Keynote Viewer for PC's?
I have got iWork '08 and love Keynote far more than PowerPoint but my uni uses Windows PC's so it means I have to use PowerPoint for my lectures.
I know that if you save a Keynote presentation as a quicktime file, that works, but very few of the PC's have iTunes/quicktime installed.

For years, I used Eudora (Mac) because it was fast and fit the way I needed and wanted to work. Overall, I still think it's the best e-mail program but I switched to Mail for some very specific reasons: I needed to be able to specify specific POP ports for specific e-mail accounts, I wanted to use the Mac OS centralized address book (Eudora's interface with Address Book was kludgy), I had apparently reached the limit on folders within Eudora as it would crash when I tried to add a new folder and restoring to previous preferences would allow me to use Eudora didn't fix the problem with adding a folder, and I wanted to see html e-mails (Mail still doesn't create html e-mails well).Overall, I'm OK with Mail (v. 4.2, Mac OS 10.6.2, MacBook Pro late 2006 Core 2 Duo, 3gb RAM). The thing that I miss the most is Eudora's very robust searching capabilities. There may well be something I've missed with Mail as it seems that the kind of searches that I want to do should be possible in Mail. Here are some examples of the kinds of things I want:
1. Search on multiple criteria. For instance, find all e-mails where "From" contains xxxxx and "Date" is after xx/xx/xx and "Body" contains xxxxxxxx.
2. Boolean searches. For instance, find all e-mails where "From" contains xxxxx or "From" contains yyyyy.
3. Search within the results of a search. For instance, first find all e-mails where "From" contains xxxxx or "From" contains yyyyy, then within those e-mails, find e-mails where "Body" contains zzzzz.
4. Full boolean and/or grep searching (this would go beyond Eudora's capabilities).
Is there a resource, preferably online, for power searching in Mail? If so, where? While doing this kind of searching as native part of Mail would be preferable, I would be satisfied with a plug-in or even a third-party utility that interfaces well with Mail.

Does anyone know how to search a pdf with Preview using multiple terms?
Example: I searched for battle fatigue, and it showed me every result containing battle (including things like battlefield) and every result containing fatigue. I'm need it to find a specific phrase, not every instance of every word.
Putting the phrase in quotes returns nothing, as does using + between words.

I often find myself searching for a piece of text that I wrote myself within a webpage. For example, when writing a long email in gmail, I want to look for a certain word I wrote somewhere in the middle. Firefox dynamically includes all the text that is present on the page (as opposed to just what's in the source of the page) and I'm wondering if there is a way to do that with Safari.

I recently switched 99% to a mac and im having a very hard time to find an alternative software like "PhotoScape" on windows!
I print a list of applications i use on windows and started searching for alternatives!
I find everything i needed except that! I looked in to many many forums (inc here)... tested more than 50 software but no luck at all!
Free or commercial doesnt matter! The only link between me and my PC is photoscape and this is killing me!
A full noisy tower - 100 cables everywhere just for running one app. (winebottler wont run it normally)
What exactly im looking for (for those of you who dont know "PhotoScape")
Is a multi batch editor for pictures with "preset" feature. (not a photo organizer or something like iphoto)
I want to be able to add lets say 10 images, load the xxx partner preset
and.. (auto action for that specific preset)
<example>
- resize them with max width 600px
- place a watermark with the name of the partner to a specific location on the image. text watermark with outline color and basic text tools predifined for each preset
- rename them like "partner-01" - "partner-02" - "partner-03" etc etc
-export them in Jpeg format with quality 80 to a subfolder called "partner-xxx" inside the folder with the originals.

It seems that every word doc I create has a self generated macro virus embedded in it and when I go to email it as an attachment GMAIL doesn't allow it to be attached.
I also get the warning window about disabling Macros when ever I go to open a word doc on my MacBook Pro.
How do i alleviate this virus from existing docs without destroying content and also rid my laptop of future issues with this virus.

ok so I have 13000 track on my computer. I probably hate 9000 of them. This collection has been building up for a good 10 years. I like to listen to music on random. I want to be able to either hit "next" or "delete".
I dont want to have go to itunes window, hit delete then "Move to trash". I want the delete button to do that. even if I'm not on the itunes window.
thoughts? It also doesn't have to be itunes. I don't care what it is. if its not itunes i can use it for a month to syphon through all my music then all thats leftover Ill enjoy through itunes.

In Excel 2004, I created a macro. I then deleted it using the Tools --> Macros... dialog box. I still get the message about enabling/disabling macros when I open the file. I have tried using the VBA Editor to delete it, but I don't see a "Module 1" (or anything else for that matter) that contains the macro.
I know I can turn off the macro warning in the preferences, but I'd rather figure out why I'm getting the message and get rid of it without turning off the macro warnings.
