View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a Panasonic Viera (2006) digital TV. It has every possible port on the back (and even ports on one side.)The TV is connected to a digital TV tuner/hard disk recorder unit. The tuner also has a ton of ports. What do I need to do in order to send video from the TV to the Mac and record it on the Mac?(Either live TV or video playback from the hard disk recorder.)With my old analog TV, I used the Interview XLR8 USB video capture device with the Interview application or BTV application. (I think even Quicktime could record from the XLR too.)Seems digital TV doesn't work with the XLR8. Is that right? I tried the XLR8 with various combinations of inputs/outputs but can't seem to get any video to appear on the Mac.
I see that HDMI is one way out from Mac out and view on the TV.I also have a VCR and DVD player connected to the TV via a switcher box. With the variety of digital and analog outputs from these devices, seems I should be able to get video from the TV into the Mac.

I'm planning on adding how to videos to my site (flash) so that its easier for my customer to understand how to use a page. Ie instead of trying to explain common things in a FAQ I would have a video actually showing them. Ideally I'll be able to record my actions on screen and my voice as I describe what I'm doing. I'm willing to pay for the app, but just not that much ie less than $100. Now I don't need an all in one, for instance if there is a free app to do screen recording and another free app that can record my voice and another to merge them together I'm fine with that. I understand that free is free and I have to deal with some of the headaches. Any advice as to what software I would need. A quick google for mac screen recording brings a bunch of results.

I would be able to plug into the network here and have full T1 upstream speeds.
I know how to do it on Youtube and other sites but for a live video stream I know it's a different process, but I don't know what that process is. Could you do it with Quicktime Pro? (which I own)

I know the Mac has a screen recorder, but the problem is it doesn't record onboard audio in addition to the screen recording. I've also tried the audio recording stuff and it just doesn't work.So are there any programs out there that can record audio AND video at the same time, in one file, on the Mac? I've tried the AudioHijack and Audacity stuff, but it's impossible to sync it with the screen-recorded video

There used to be Conference Recorder by iCamm, but it doesn't support OS X 10.6. I'm looking for some software that enables me to record iChat video, but not necessarily while I'm chatting with someone -- I used to use Conference Recorder to record a video diary for my own purposes. If I’m using iChat and not chatting with anybody the “record video” option is not enabled. Ther has GOT to be some third-party software out there that does the same job as Conference Recorder did. And I’m not talking that ripoff, SnapzPro — who has $69 to spend on shareware? Apple sells an entire OS for less than $30. Besides, I don’t want a screen recorder — I would like one specifically for iChat.

I really enjoy to listen some radio shows, but at that time I'm working, so I was wondering if there is any way to record the to listen later.
The show only last 2 hours, and since it's radio quality the mp3 file should be really small.
I'm looking for a free or inexpensive, quality software program that can record and log the key strokes, web, and email usage of my family for MAC OSX. That functions invisibly. Must include remote monitoring.
