i am looking for an app that i can put all of my clients info into and add notes of what i did, and be able to search and pull up all info anytime. and also be able toadd to it if i make return trips. i have checked out daylite and dont think it is for me. dont need anything to flashy, just something reliable.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4 as well as a Mac loaded with the new Facetime beta - after all the fun of calling myself from my phone to computer and calling a couple friends from my computer it dawned on me that when someone wants to facetime with me, they have to know where I am at. If they call me via my email address they will get me on my Mac, but if they call me on my phone number they will get my phone...obviously - what I am saying is that by having 2 places to look it makes it difficult to just "call someone".
I understand that this is no different than finding someone at home/cell/office numbers, but there are features for those to locate you - I wonder if Apple has addressed this or will in the final release? I think what is needed is a way for facetime to have "find me" feature. I think that maybe it could "ring" in to the Mac first, then to the iPhone second, or vice vera depending on how you want it set in your preferences.
which do you recommend? I haven't used any, i know my windows buddies love �torrent, what do you guys recommend?!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been experimenting with many bittorrent clients for mac (utorrent, vuze, transmision, tomatotorrent) and they are all consistently slower to download a file that the original Bittorrent client for Windows. I compared them downloading the same file at the same time (the windows client running under parallels), and always the windows client beats the hell of the others. Is there a mac client comparably fast to the windows one?

I am, however, having problems finding a suitable MUD client (Multi User Dungeon) for which to play on. I tried atlantis but it doesn't like the mud's I play on and everything else seems to not run because they are not universal binary. Do any of you have an suggestions for clients?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a large collection of ripped (TV-on-DVD that i own) mp4s. I want to add these to my iTunes library (space is a non-issue). I import them by adding them to the "automatically add to iTunes" folder. iTunes auto-magically adds them to the "Movies" section. At this point i can group-select, hit cmd-I, and change them to TV Shows. Easy! The only other piece of meta-data I would like to add is the episode number. Is there a quick way to do this? Or do i have to hit cmd-I, add episode #, hit OK button, select next episode, repeat....?
View 2 Replies View RelatedOk, so I have been a life long pc user who recently bought one of the new unibody mbps. On my old pc I had a large collection of .mp3 files that i moved over to my mac. My problem is that on the pc I could easily edit all of the information by right clicking and going to properties. On my mbp I right click on the file go to get info but it wont let me edit any of the stuff in the "more info" section, like the year recorded, comments, album, or title. Is there anyway to do this? I am really ocd about how my music is organized and like it all to be the same. (seeing unorganized ipods drives me crazy) I know you can do this in itunes but i want to do it on the actual files so it is changed permanently.

Back in my windows days i used a choice little program called keePass to handle all my logins/passwords/serial keys etc etc not so much as to automatically fill them in for me but just as a record. Now that i've made the switch i've been having to keep a pretty messy rtf document until a better solution comes along. Any applications come to mind?
I have just had occasion to restore the disc containing my XP operating system (yes, I am a PC person too). iTunes Library is stored on a big FireWire box, and was not restored.
The date of my last XP backup was 19/1/09, and iTunes Library knew of nothing I had done since that date, in other words, the song tracks are kept in the iTunes directory, but the library clearly isn't. This is really strange. All the tracks I had added were there in the iTunes library physical directories, but their importing into the library had disappeared. As had some Smart Playlists.
So where is the library actually stored? I note that there are some odds and ends of unrecognizable stuff along with the executable in the XP Programs... directory, presumably this stuff includes the library?
Just to clarify. The executable is on my C drive in the default location, and the iTunes library is on H:iTunes.
I was exchanging music with a friend who has the Zune software on his computer.And there was one thing that I would really like that his software had, and that was the Find Album Info.
This was able to simply find album artwork, track names and other details for the music.So my question is, is there any additional software for iTunes that does something like this?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know *how* to do this, by going to "get info", and I have done it before. But, for some reason I *can't* actually do it anymore. When I select a group of songs to change info on, it acts like its going to work but then does nothing. When I select a single item, the get info tab is completely grayed out, nothing can be clicked on or changed. I have tried checking the song outside of iTunes to make sure it isn't read only or anything and I haven't found any issues with that. None of these should have any copy protection, they've all been ripped from cd or downloaded.
The only way I have been able to change anything so far is to convert the mp3 to AAC. I really don't want to have to convert the whole library. What is wrong with this?? How do I fix it?
So I am selling my early 2011 MacBook Pro and have been having a lot of trouble getting people to buy it at my asking price... So I was thinking of ways I can get it at the price I wanted and thought to use the software on the computer as a selling point. Well it worked and I have all of adobe CS5 on it along with Microsoft Office for mac and windows 7 as a partition. Well I got a buyer who is interested primarily because of the software and I want to sell it but just keep the applications on it. What can I do to protect myself by getting rid of any personal information? Do I just go to my key chain and wipe it clean and wipe all my documents? The licensing for the applications won't be an issue for me so I don't care about that.

View 2 Replies View RelatedGonna be moving from my old mac onto a shiny new MacBook and while its easy enough to take over the contents of my iTunes and the iTunes Library file over to the new machine to preserve my play lists & play counts, I want to be able to take over the CD track name and information so if I put in a CD I had personally amended the information to, the information is still there as apposed to just connecting to the great music database in the sky and downloading the information like it does when I put in a fresh music CD for the first time. When I copied over the Library file to my new machine and put in a CD that had already been done it went ahead and connected to the database instead so obviously the CD information is not stored there. Anyone have any idea what file I should be looking at to copy over or is this going to be horribly difficult?

"While every screen sharing connection uses encryption, the highest level of security requires both participants to have MobileMe subscriptions with encryption enabled. If this is the case, you will see a lock icon in the screen sharing window."
I'm wondering:
1. What is the difference between the encryption that "every screen sharing connection uses" and the enhanced security allowed with MobileMe accounts? How does this compare with, say, doing VNC over an SSH connection?
2. I understand that one can get a free MobileMe account which only has iChat capabilities. Does this free MobileMe account enable iChat encryption, or do I have to pay $99/year to get that?
I have to send my MBP in for service and I am about to back up my computer, I was just wondering the best way to go about it so that I dont loose any of my information. I have an external hard drive and was wondering if I use Time Machine will it back up my applications and all information on my computer?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently purchased some webspace to which I upload files via FTP and then link to the files I upload on my various blogs. With a view to simplifying the procedure, can anybody suggest to me a program into which I can drag & drop any file, have it upload in the background, and then allow it to provide me with a user-clickable url rather than an FTP link to the file? I've been using Transmit, which I really enjoy, but I can't seem to find an option to grab a url that's viewable to everybody. Despite me uploading the files to my public_html directory it just copies an ftp:// link, which is of no use to anybody, and I then have to go into my webspace client's file manager system online and grab the user-viewable url. I seem to remember a program like this existing, one that would sit up in your taskbar and be active and waiting for files to be dropped into it for upload at any time but i had no use of it back then.
