Applications :: Iphoto Or Apple Rendered Image Of Non Existing Software?
Aug 20, 2010
I was browsing the Apple website when I ran into a image suggesting that iPhoto can use CoverFlow. It's here. Is it iPhoto or just some Apple rendered image of an non-existing app?

FCPX shows the timeline is fully rendered (100%) and the background tasks window shows idle, but the orange line is still there over a section of the timeline. If I do the CMD R, nothing happens.

How do I split my existing iPhoto library? I wanna split my existing iphoto library by organizing iPhoto libraries by year, so if I create a new library, how can I transfer some of the photos on my existing iphoto library to the new iPhoto library I just created?

I want to maintain and update the set on my Mac from now on. I don't want to delete and upload new photos as I'll loose comments and what not. The photos in the existing set are currently in iPhoto, they were just manually uploaded. Is there any way to do this?

One possible way I can think of is to open up the iPhoto package, copy all the files to a new location (e.g. external hard drive). Uncheck Copy Items to iPhoto, create a new iPhoto library, and import the images from the new location. However, I am afraid that all of the metadata (keywords, location), events, faces, etc will not get transferred to the new library.

I'm having trouble printing my images at 100%. For some reason that I haven't been able to troubleshoot, when I try to print an image from iPhoto, I lose a half inch or more of the photo around the edges. It even reflects that this will happen in the preview screen.

I am working on a photobook for a family wedding. One photo shows the groom in full and wanted to place this photo in the book. There it did not seem to feet, legs/feet were cut off, the photo does not show in full. How do I adjust or resize this image and with the right dimensions (not losing pixels, etc)?

what I have to do to reposition an image within a box in pages? I've done it before but don't know how.
I created a box object, then filled it with an image and was somehow able to reposition the image within the box and zoom in and zoom out.

I have an account I use for iTunes. For reasons I cannot fathom, when I try to sign up for iCloud using that username/password, Lion comes back with "This Apple ID cannot be used to sign in to iCloud. Create a new Apple ID or sign in with a different one." I do NOT want yet another Apple ID and I certainly don't want to have one different from what I use in iTunes for purchases.

Don't know if anyone has made an album using iPhoto yet, but if you haven't, you should. I needed some additional portfolios to place around some places where my images are displayed, and I was really getting tired of making my own.
The quality is very good - I got the hardbound 20-page book with black pages and it looks awesome. My only complaint id that they are currently having problems accepting books with Type 1 post script fonts.Had the book in three days after ordering it right through iPhoto.

My AppleTV keeps showing old podcasts which don't exist anymore in my iTunes library. Of course I can't play them because the file has since long been deleted. I don't see them anywhere in iTunes, so I can't delete them from my library.Â
I found the reason for this behaviour: those old podcasts are still present in my iTunes library xml file. I deleted this file and restarted iTunes. iTunes will create a brand new xml file from the original .itl file. However, the old non-existent podcasts are still present in the new xml file. So the error must be present in my .itl file.Â

I have a new AppleTV set up in my entertainment center on the other side of my house from my office, where my MacBook Pro is. Currently I have my U-verse gateway(which has a wireless router built in) in my home theater. The AppleTV is wired into the gateway. The signal from the gateway does not reach my office so I was able to hack a linksys router into a repeater bridge (different SSID as my U-verse setup). This allows me to stream my iTunes library, which is stored on an external HD (1.5tb) connected to my Mac, to my Apple TV.

I am seriously annoyed about an otherwise excellent application: I just imported a couple of pictures from my camera into iPhoto using the Image Capture app. I sometimes like to do it this way to review the images and movies before importing. Now I had serious problems on two occasions:
1. There was a raw file on the camera, which iPhoto couldn't process, of course
2. Apparently I closed the Image capture application too soon - after I did so, iPhoto complained about not having enough storage space, although there's more than enough space on the hard drive
Regrettably I had the "delete after import" box checked. Meaning, my photos are gone now! Or, are they? Where does Image capture put them and will they still be there? If not, where can I file a bug for Image Capture?

I have this problem, yesterday I tried to upload some photo's... Because this camera (a HP M440) is quiet windows-orientated, I used image capture to import my photo's and video's of it... First I uploaded the video's to the Finder and after that I tried to upload the photo's and import it to iPhoto automatically... Of course, I was quiet stupid as well, I shouldn't have used the automatic option to delete these 'imported' photo's... What I've already tried: 3 Of the possible solutions for recovering with iPhoto:
1. Used the Finder, iPhoto Library, show contents, and searched for them... Weren't there...
2. Use iPhoto Library Manager to recover the .xml-file, also no effect...
3. Used Option-Command with start-up and tried to recover them....................

So I have moved all of my photos from my pc over to my mac harddrive. When I look for the pictures in Finder it uses Preview to open the pictures. To see them in iPhoto I guess I have to import all of the pictures? Is that correct? If I do this the pics will be on my machine twice?
Now let's say I have new pics on a camera that i'm trying to get on my machine. Is the only way to import into iPhoto or is there a way I can get the pics into my pre-existing folders?

I am facing the fact that if I want the most versatile for my music library it is MP3. Now I have more than 200gb of AAC formated music that I want to convert to MP3 and maintain the best quality sound I can.
Older version of iTunes (pre v8) I could go to Advanced > Importing > Convert Selection to ___
Now I cannot find the Convert Selection to ___ option anywhere. In fact when I look at the help file, it refers to the same location as I was used to going to... but the import tab is no longer a tab.. its a button on the General Tab.

I'm trying to understand how itunes imports files and where it puts them. Does itunes duplicate existing files when your first install it?
In other words if I have some songs and videos in my computer and I install itunes, I know it will search for files during the installation and add them to the itunes library so, here is where my question comes, does itunes copies the files it finds to the itunes library and leave the exiting files in its original location or it moves them to a new location?
I'm just trying to understand how itunes imports and stores files and where it puts them.

I used "Force Quit" on my Transmission (4 downloading, 19 uploading torrents) and when I opened it again, the downloading torrents were stuck on "Checking existing data" and the % wouldn't move any higher. I did what some other people said and paused all of them, resuming one until the % went higher but nothing really happened. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I just bought a $10 iTunes card and I want to by iMovie from the Mac App Store. (which brings my balance to $16.48) My problem is whenever I try to buy this product I'm sent to the billing page. I don't have a credit card so I select "none" and try to purchase iMovie again. But it just sends me back to the billing page. I don't want to buy another card in order to redeem something on the billing page so what do I do?

If I open TextEdit, it seems to work ok. But if I open an existing file (RTF), TextEdit opens but is "not responding" (says the Activity Monitor), for about 2 minutes. Then the file I wanted to open suddenly appears and works fine.
How come? And how can I make TextEdit work normally again?

I know that you can add Google Calendar to your iCal this way. Is there a better way? I just don't like how it is a separate calendar instead of syncing with the calendars I already have in iCal, I guess I'm looking for something that will sync my existing calendars on iCal with Google Cal similar to what Mobile Me does. Any suggestions or should I just try tailoring the above method to what I want it to do?
