View 2 RepliesPersonally, I think it's a great effect, but my client hates it. Unfortunately, it is the default in iMovie, and iMovie seems very reluctant to turn this effect off. Here's the problem I am having:
- My client requested a series of still shots to be made from a 40 minute video. So, I imported the DVD video into Quicktime using a third-party app (DVD-VX,) and then I was easily able to create still shots, (it was someone's 65th birthday party.) So far, so good...
Then, the client wanted the shots (about 125 of them) set to music, and provided a series of CDs. OK, no problem. I put the pictures in order, and synchronized it nicely with music, using iMovie, so that I could easily trim the music, fade the volumes in and out, and add titles and transitions between the different sections. So far, so good.....................
I Am Making A Music Video And Everything Was Going Great Until One clip was off with the lyrics and i heard the music playing from the video so i detached the audio and deleted it and i still hear It ! and i turned down al audio from the inspecter what could be happening the clip is over a picture using it as a greenscreen background Please Help I Need To Have This Part Done By The End Of Today . ! View 2 Replies View RelatedI've never used iMovie 08 but I have a Mothers Day project I want to try. Will this work?
I want to take a bunch of photos from iPhoto, make a slideshow with them using dissolves, fades and cuts for the video. For the audio I want to use a song I have in iTunes.
Can I do this using iMovie 08, or even another app from iLife 08?
I want all of my videos to have the same transitions between slides with the same duration for the transitions and the same captions. How do I do this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhere do you sit on the whole Genie Effect vs Scale Effect war that's been raging for the last 8 years? Whilst the Genie wowed me the first time I saw it, I chose Scale Effect pretty much as soon as I got OSX, preferring performance over prettiness. Now, years later, when I occasionally catch it on other peeps machines I think it just looks... tacky. I wonder how many people on here still have it switched on?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a mac mini version os x 10.7.3 that has iMovie on it, but when I try to burn a DVD to play on a tv, it doesn't have anything to make a dvd. iMovie says it create a iDvd in a pull down box under Share, but then nothing happens. There is no iDvd on the computer. Did this version of Mac mini not come with iDvd? Do I have to purchase that separately to make DVDs?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI need to burn a DVD to play home videos in a DVD player. Since Apple killed off iDVD, I've wasted over 2 hours trying to figure out how I can create such a DVD-video. Someone suggested "Burn" but Burn only handles .avi or .mpeg files and iMovie only exports .m4v files. So any software, for movie in iMovie, exported it successfully, converted it from .m4v to .avi or .mpeghas successfully burned it to a DVD-Video, played it in a DVD-video player, to achieve this?

I love the old iMovie HD, and would like to keep working on projects with it. If I install iLife '09 , will it erase the old version of iMovie HD?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a very old purple iMac, circa 2000, with an old version of iMovie. I copied the files onto a USB and tried to open/import them onto my new Intel Core 2 Duo, 3.06 GHz iMac. However my new iMac with iMovie '09 won't recognise the files when I try to import them. They stay greyed, not allowing me to import them.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I begin broadcasting in Nicecast, it works perfectly streaming iTunes and everything, but when I turn the Voiceover effect on it just doesn't work.
My mic is compatible with the program as it streams fine with the Microphone setting and I've tried several microphones with the Voiceover effect, the effect just doesn't work. Any patches for this or something?
I've been stumped lately as to what in the world is playing a strange sound that i think is a product of Genius. It happens when I:
- Navigate to the iTunes store
- Click on any links in the itunes store, search, account, etc
- when the Genius side bar is out, and tracks change while playing from my Music.
I have gotten it to stop the incessant noise making when tracks change by turning it off and hiding the side bar; but it still makes the noise when i click playlists, my iphone or ipod, other directories, etc.
so I have Keynote '09 and am using it for a presentation for school. My question is this: how can I set the default transition/effect for text on a page?
Ideally I would like to do this because it gets annoying when I need to do the same setting in every slide. I would like to make these the defaults:
is there a decent FREE program out there to simply add slow motion to a video? iMovie obviously can't unless i'm missing something.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to use the "chroma keyer" effect, it doesn't work. Nothing changes in the canvas when I use it. The effect shows up on the "video" tab of the viewer window if I click "view match frame" on the bottom of the canvas window. However, the effect doesn't hold for anything else. From what I've seen on tutorials and such, the effect is supposed to be in real-time with the canvas, and affect the sequence itself on the timeline. Is this simply something that I may have accidentally clicked that isn't allowing this to happen!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a clip of a background moving to the right that will be projected in the background of a play in order to give the feel of motion in a train. I want the clip to start off with a still shot and then accelerate as if the train first is still and then accelerates until reaching full speed (which is the normal speed of the clip).
I know how to change the speed of a clip by going to "Clip adjustments", but I don't want to change the pace of the whole clip, I want the speed to increase gradually. I tried to mark short parts of the clip and then change their speed to increase gradually, but that is too rough. Isn't there any "acceleration effect" built-in?
I have a project file that was created using iMovie 5 HD. In this project file were a large number of unused clips and also the final film, edited with transitions, backing music, end credits, etc.
However when I import this project file into iMovie 8 I cannot find the final edited film anywhere, just all the clips that were both used and unused within the project file.
How can I get the final film back without spending about a week re-editing everything?
So i've recently gotten in the uploading to YouTube craze with my Flip Mino HD but i'm not too happy at the way i've been doing this and am hoping there is an easier way.
As of late i've been importing what i film into iMovie. In iMovie i'll edit the video to my liking. In iMovie i'll "export" to the media browser so it'll show up in GarageBand. Then i'll open GarageBand and edit my film further, dealing with sound; adding music. After that i'll export it as a .MOV to my desktop. Then i'll open iMovie again and import that .MOV file and from there in iMovie will have it upload to YouTube in its original HD format.
So, I have all of my imovie projects backed up on my external harddrive, as well as the imovie program. I accidentally deleted all of the imovie projects and events from the imovie application on my laptop. When I try to re-import the imovie files into imovie, it doesn't recognize the files. I have tried to convert them with iSkySoft Video Converter. That converter program does not recognize the files either. I also tried burning the files onto a disc and then pulling them off the disc with the Handbrake program. This doesn't work either. I also tried importing the files into iMovie HD, which I have on my desktop, but to no avail. Are these files alll useless now? I'm at my wits end because I have spent literally months compiling footage for a documentary.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm getting along well with imovie, I'm trying to make some simple videos for my massage business that I am publishing on YouTube. I have a number of slides with music timed just right at the beginning and the end, and would like to have some kind of template that I could use repeatedly or some kind of "save as" option so that I don't have to recreate it every time I make another 2 min. video. There's got to be a way to do this, yes? If you want to see what I mean, my YouTube channel is alteredstates42.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith the Snow Leopard versions of Safari, scrolling downward (either with "page down", tapping the spacebar, or clicking in the scrolling area) and upward is done with a "sliding effect". That is to say, for lack of a better term, the page visibly "slides" upward or downward in the direction you scroll.
In _older versions_ of Safari (thinking back to OS 10.3.x and 10.4.x), scrolling was instantaneous. There was no "slide effect" Page Down or Page Up would instantly result in that part of the document being displayed.
I dislike the "sliding effects" -- for all that I can figure, they are included as a "visual treat", the same as the effects when a window is minimized to the dock. For me, however, it's "visual aggravation".
Is there any way to "turn the effects off" in Safari? I'll assume that if this is possible, it has to be done through Terminal...
Every time I open imovie it works well enough, until i try and record my voice. It automaticaly shuts down imovie, and really frustrates my teacher and I. It's imovie 4.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have all my clips together and wanted to overlay a title on a still photo that I took from the video.
When I go to drag the title down to the video, the green + shows up, and I let go.
The title then just flies back up to the title menu and doesn't get added to the movie. What's wrong??
I have a homemade DVD someone sent me to prep for the web. Right now I just have iMovie available on my system (not enough room for FCP). The DVD automatically plays in DVD Player but when I try to import it into iMovie I see a progress menu/bar that drops down, disappears, then I have nothing and the timeline is empty and the clip I dragged/dropped it on is empty (well white from selecting it first).
It plays in DVD Player but NOT in QuickTime. QT throws up the error "Error Opening Movie. Movie could not be opened."
I have a video which I imported from a VHS using my eyetv, and overall, it's not too bad. The only problem is that the video as that telltale VHS wobble on it, which comes from a crappy video cassette.I want to put this on DVD, but I find the wobbling very distracting. Is there anything I can do in iMovie, using a plugin or its standard features to fix this?
Does anyone still have the .dmg that Apple had posted on their site? If it's not illegal, which I'm sure it probably is for some stupid reason, could they by chance e-mail me the it? I didn't have a need or even think to download it before it was discontinued until now...
