I was wondering, with the new announcements, will there be a free upgrade for people who just bought a mac recently to Mountain Lion? I thought this was the case when Lion came out...
Info:MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)
Recently purchased music and video appears in Purchased playlist, but not in Library. Tried reboot, toggling Match, Genius and Store on/off, now running out of ideas.

Do I need to start over with a new download of Iphoto 11 if it wasn't purchased from the apps store. Do I save any money from an upgrade as opposed to buying a new license from the app store

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new early 08 MBP laptop (Leopard) and a G4 tower (Tiger) using IPhoto 08. When out of town I have added photos to my laptop. I have also added different new photos to my tower. Is there a software way to update both computers to have the same photos? I have heard the term bi-directional (my Palm Treo does this). In the case of my Treo, if I have new info in both my phone and computer, both will be updated to match each other. Now I need to do that same syncing concept between both of my computers for IPhoto (I do not have .mac).

Ideally I would like to have the same computer on two different machines. The things I want mirrored between the to would be my media (itunes, iphoto, etc)
I know mobile me would sync my ical, address book etc, but im not looking to spend 100 dollars per year to keep my machines synced.
I have a new iphone, but have never purchased anything from itunes. The phone won't let me download a FREE app because I haven't purchased anything before.

Does anyone here sync most or all their files between two macs? I have an imac and will be getting a mbp. I'd like both macs to have the same copy of itunes, iphoto and other documents. Will .mac sync do this or what software setup do you use to make this work?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for something like syncOTunes but for iPhoto. My wife and I each have our own mac, and just like our music libraries, we end up with very different iPhoto libraries. From a simple "backup" perspective it would be nice to sync the two up now and then a la syncOTunes.

I just upgraded to 10.6 - and was horrified to find out when opening iTunes again, my playlists, podcasts, purchased items, etc weren't there. It's a total iTunes reboot! All my audio content is stored on an external HDD (yes, its plugged in) - though the iTunes Libraries are on my laptop.
how to recover these without having to go through the hassle of Time Machine?

When I got my MBP over a year ago during the initial setup, I cloned my MP. As time has elapsed, the two machines are now out of sync i.e. programs, photos, documents etc. how I can copy specific programs, iphoto libraries and documents from one machine to the other?

I want to give it to my bro for net use, itunes, word processing and basic stuff.
what would be the best way to go about upgrading? Should i do leopard or and older os X? will I need more ram (256) and i believe it is 500 mhz, would that be good?
like I said, it's just for basic stuff but I was wondering if these machines still work good.
I think i got pretty luck here but you guys let me know. Bought a Rev A macbook air on craigslist for like 900 a few months back, machine came with apple care and a few extras.
Then the enter key was sticking up slightly more on one side so i figured i have the support might as well take it in. The key was sticking up from a pervious repair. So the took it and fixed it. when i got it back the keys didn't light up and the sound was gone. I called and when i bought it back they gave me a new Rev B macbook air with an extra power adapter. Needless to say i was very happy.
I have heard of this happening to other people is it starting to become common?
So, I'm checking the due date of my 17 inch and I see this....
Anyone else find they now have an i7 for i5 price?
I bought a macbook pro with snow leopard and was told lion was a free upgrade. How do I do this!

I've decided to switch my current HDD with a bigger one. I currently got 160gb wich is a little bit tight. I also have a WD Passport 160gb but I use it as a TM Backup. I don't really know if I need 7400 RPM. I use frequently Adobe PS CS3 and MSN, iTunes, Firefox... I also plan on getting some games like COD4 and things like that. So far here are the drives I've been looking:
5400RPM 320GB WesternDigital @ OWC for approx. 75.99$CA: [URL]
7200RPM 320GB WesternDigital @ NewEgg.ca for 84.99$CA: [URL]
5400RPM 500GB WesternDigital @ OWC for approx. 112.62$CA: [URL]
Right now, my 160gb contains 148gb of stuff and I've got some movies on my brother's external HDD. I don't know if 320gb would be enough or if I'm gonna be tempt in 6 months-1 year on getting more space?
I wanted to download iBook Author. But it forces me to upgrade to Lion. If I update now, will I get the next OS i.e Mountain Lion for free, in view of the near release of Mountain Lion?

I have a 2009 imac running intel core duo 2.66ghz processor, 4gb ram and 256mb graphics. It currently runs os x 10.5.8 and I wish to upgrade it to the latest operating system (lion?) I recently purchased a macbook pro 3 inch running lion. A friend told me I'd be able to upgrade my imac too as 'apple doesn't charge people twice.'
1) Is this true? and if so, how do I obtain the free upgrade?
2) should I wait until mountain lion is available?
3) Is the computer going to be capable of running the latest OS or will it need a ram upgrade?
Accidently today I deleted Iphotos on my macbook by accident and can't find a way to reinstall it. I also lost my apple care cd when I purchased my macbook. IS there anyway thats for free?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI get the following message when I use syncmate & Finder to transfer files from my MacBook to my Samsung Omnia. I actually have 7gb of storage left when I get this message. It has only been a problem since the SL upgrade.
The item ClearTemp-v1.2.1.CAB cant be copied because there isnt enough free space.
So thanks to the info on this forum, I think I'm going to take the plunge with a new internal HD. My question: what do you use for a static free surface when you actually open the thing up and do the upgrade? I'd hate to zap my machine in the process of improving it. I've upgraded the RAM with no problem just on a table top and I've also upgraded the hell out of an old G5, but this is the first time I'm really going inside the notebook.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI bought my Mid-2011 iMac a few weeks before Lion came out...so I was eligible for a free upgrade. Now, unfortunately, I am having problems with my iMac so I want to reinstall the OS. However, I only have the Snow Leopard disc to reinstall. Can I still upgrade to Lion for free? Would it be in my App Store as I already upgraded so I can just re-upgrade?
