my wife and I both use itunes and we both have itunes accounts. I was wondering can I share my music and videos I bought from itunes, so that she can play them on her own itunes account on her computer?

I'm surprised I wasn't able to find much at all on this by searching this forum or the web. Maybe I'm looking for the wrong thing. Anyway, here goes:
I want to share an Address Book between different user accounts on the same Mac, without resorting to using MobileMe or another sync tool that requires internet access to function. I had hoped to set it up where the Address Book is in the Shared folder and accessed by each user, but that doesn't appear to be possible. It's surprising that this isn't a natural function in native Mac OS X.
I've also tried exporting an Address Book Archive to the Shared folder. It shows on my account to be 1.6MB. When I log in as another user, it shows to be Zero KB, even after changing permissions, and importing into Address Book does nothing.
So i finished my first ten-minute long short film, i'm really proud of it. I wanted to share the whole thing in 1080p HD and then import it into after effects for some finishing touches. I did sharing < media sharing < 1080p hd.
1. Where did my movie go? it doesn't show up in iMovie anymore, and I found a big file over 1GB which appears to be my movie (but no way is it in 1080p, and I filmed with a sony HDR xr520v). I cant put that back into iMovie nor after effects.
2. Can I import this file into after effects cs4 and then re-export it in an equal quality?
I know you can listen to friends music over Simplify Media, but how can I download the music I listen to onto my computer from my friends accounts?

I have a large collection of photos in the iPhoto program in My Account and I would like the Kids account to be able to see the photos. Is there a way that the Kids account can see the content of iPhoto in My account? I looked around and couldn't see any settings that would allow me to do that.

The problem is that when my photos are brought up on my girlfriends account they are at a very low resolution to what the file actually is. I have four user accounts on the same iMac and I'd like to be able to view the files within each account. When I try access one of the other three accounts through Finder, the folders have red minus signs on them. If I try to open one, I get an error message about not have the right authorities. However, I've given all four user accounts administrator access.

My wife and I have separate user accounts on the same MacBook Pro so that we can both sync our phones to this computer. My account is the primary user account, and my iTunes library is stored in this account. My wife would like to put music on her iPhone so she can run, but I can't seem to access the music library thru her account. I know the files are all on the hard drive regardless, so I just need to know how I can make iTunes on my wife's account access the library that's there. I've tried the steps I could find on Apple's website, but I can't seem to make it work. I'm running the latest versions of everything - even tho the post says I'm running 10.9.1, I'm actually running 10.9.4

So I downloaded a bunch of audio in .mp3 format that I drag onto iTunes.
The filenames are like 213.mp3 or 23.mp3
When I plugin my ipod, the filenames are all wacky looking.
Why is that? (note: the .mp3 audio is not in english)
Can I rename them so they show up as 213.mp3 on my ipod also?
So I clicked on an ad for an app store app and was taken to the app detail page in safari, which then launched itunes to display it in the app store.
It instead took me to the same page in safari....but shown in iTunes. I can now navigate the apple website in place of the iTunes store.
I can't see purchases made by my wife when I log in to iTunes (and vice versa). We have one account and we'd like to share a few songs. We both use the same machine, however we each have our own log in
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am in process of setting up a new computer system. I've purchased a Windows 7 PC and am migrating my music from a PowerPC Mac. Both systems are active authorized iTunes computers. I set them up to share and used the share utility to import my entire library into the new system.
Every single non-iTunes songs transferred without issue - 27,000+ of them but every single iTunes purchased songs, only 400 of them, did not.
I have around 10 different e-mail addresses that I check in Apple mail.All are POP3-configured, but now I want to change ALL of those account types to IMAP. On exactly the same server.Is this possible in any way...? By editing some config files or anything...?I just came back to Mac after a long period away, having just discovered the geniality of IMAP-mail.
So like many people I have (had) a very unorganized iTunes folder. I decided it was time to basically put all my files in the same format and add a bunch of the missing information to the files, most notably the artist name. I have always saved my files in the following format: Artist name - song name .mp3. then I would just add the files into itunes and of course it would not add any info into the artist field for those songs. Through windows explorer, I added artist names to all of my files and changed some of the file names but how do I go about updating iTunes to reflect these changes?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently changed the iTunes Media Folder default location to a different area on my drive. I waited a couple minutes and the files did not move. I was unaware you had to go into your settings and also select to consolodate files. Since the files didn't move I reselected my default location and kept trying to go back and forth a couple times. After letting it sit for a couple more minutes I noticed over 200 GB's of files were missing. I looked in each folder I tried to change the default Media Folder location to but they were not in either of them. I have also ran multiple system file recover programs and been unable to find them.Â

I am not sure how it happened but after upgrading the gmail account, the user accounts were changed from standard users to Mobile Me users. None of the users has ever had that type of account, and I am trying to figure out how to get it back to a standard user account. When the user attempts to log in, it asks for the user name, but also the Mobile Me user name (which they do not have). to make it worse, Mobile Me is no longer accpting new users, so I annot just add an account and log in using the new info.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have recently noticed that all of my accounts have become Standard accounts. I no longer have Administrator privileges for my computer (MacBook). I tried going through Root to change my normal account back to Administrator but according to my accounts preference pane even my Root account is listed as standard. I can check the allow user to be an administrator on this computer but it does not save this preference and will un-check once another user is selected or the window is closed.
I have also tried creating a new account through single user mode but again to no avail.How would I go about fixing this problem? I would like to install some new software and some software is no longer working the way it once did since this change.

I've noticed since i've done the latest OSX and iTune updates on my Macbook, that iTune will often freeze, esp if i have it running along any other apps, such as safari, firefox, or just even if my screen saver comes on while the music plays. The activity monitor will show iTune as Not Responding.. therefore i always have to Force Quit the application. if I dont do so, the whole system will freeze and i'll require to reboot it with the power button..
anyone else noticing this problem? I noticed that my other macbook pro does the same, thought I'd throw the question out there and see if other ppl are experiencing the same issue.
I am considering for new backup storage because my old seagate freeAgent is almost full. TimeCapsule is the 1st choice in my list. I hope that the nDraft wireless+internal harddrive will improve the transfer speed more than connecting USB with external harddrive. I'm using Asus WL-500W+external harddrive as a NAS in my home network. It data transfer rate is extremely slow, eventhough my NIC is 802.11n.
However, I have 4 macbook pro, 1 iMac, 4 ipod touch connected to my ADSL router so, it will be great if TimeCapsule is able to be the iTune server.
Many review indicate that the TimeCapsule is spontaneously dead after warranty date is expired T_T. Have apple fixed this point?

I have a backup my old Itune library into my backup disk (I copied the whole folder in the HD>Music>Itune into the disc). Now that I have reloaded my machine and subscribe to some of the new Itune podcast that I am interest in. Now I end up with 2 library (one in my machine and another one in my backup disc). Is there any way to merge 2 library together? I really doesn't want to redownloaded everything again.
