About 10% of my iTunes files are still protected. I'd like to find them and put them in a special playlist but I haven't managed to find an efficient way of finding them all and listing them.
I recently found some old .doc files on my external hard drive. the files are passworded. I know what the password is but TextEdit won't open passworded files.
When I attempt to expand password protected files using Stuffit Expander 13.0.3, I get an error saying "An error occurred attempting to expand /Users. The structure of the archive is damaged (error #17540)". I don't however get these errors when expanding files that aren't password protected, they expand normally with Stuffit. I've tried using the Archive Utility.app but it just creates a zip file and creates another rar file.
In dreaded Microsoft word I use "Save As", then click "Options" and there is the option to save my file with a password so that my kids can't get in and muck up my business writing.
I can't see "Options" under "Save as" but I'm just trialling iWorks (full iWorks disc arrives next week).
Is there a way to do this ? When I try to open any file that is password protected, I get an error that the file 'in an incompatible format' (if memory serves, I'm away from my Mac right now). I can open it fine in NeoOffice, but it never works in Number '08. I'd consider going to iWork '09 if the problem has been addressed there.
How can I convert m4v files made from Handbrake on the Mac into files which will play on an Archos AV700?Need to be in any of these formats: MPEG-4 SP, MPEG-4, DivX, DivX 5.0, DivX 4.0, WMV
Using iTunes 10 on an iMac running OS X 10.7.  Have converted ordinary audio CD to MP3 after importing to iTunes.  Now, want to burn MP3 files to CD. Where are the files? Yes, I did look inside iTunes Media folder. No luck.Â
I recently decided to sync my entire iTunes Library to my iPod instead of managing it all manually. I use the option "Convert higher bit rate songs to 256 kbps AAC", since most of my library consists of CD rips. At the end of each sync, I receive the following message: "iTunes could not copy "Stage Start" to the iPod because the file could not be converted"
I took a look at the tracks in question, and couldn't find any good reason that they would not convert. They are ALAC files that I ripped from CD, and there are other tracks on the same album that converted with no problems. As a test, I changed the Import Settings to AAC@256kbps, right-clicked on the file and chose "Create AAC version", but received this message.
I'm not sure why it would say the file format is not valid, when it is lossless like all the rest and plays fine. I checked the file(s) in Finder and it has the .m4a extension like all the rest. The only thing different I noticed is that the album art thumbnail doesn't show up for these particular tracks.
I have a playlist of 28 songs that are various file types. I would like to convert them to aiff. I went to the playlist and selected all, right clicked and selected Create aiff version. It made them but I have to search for each one and then put it in a new playlist.Â
Is there a way to make iTunes put them in one folder or a better way to gather them all to the new playlist then clicking on Music on the left and putting the title in the search box and dragging them one by one to the new playlist?Â
I have ripped a Audio-DVD with 5.1/24bit/48kHz to FLAC some time ago. Now I want to import them into iTunes. So first I tried Max and XLD and converted them to Apple Lossless format. But iTunes just ignores them when I drag them over the library.Â
Then I thought, maybe the converters can't handle the extra channels. So I imported the files into Cubase and converted them to AIFF. Then the same procedure as before. This time, iTunes accepted 10 out of 14 tracks. Why the remaining tracks weren't imported stays a secret to me.
Now, since AIFF files aren't compressed, I tried to convert them to Apple Lossless from within iTunes. But this time it hits me with an unknown error -50.
Anyone know of a program that will allow me to take an avi/divx file and convert it to dvd so i can backup some old videos? Freeware would be preferred but i'm open for anything.
Being a relatively new Mac user, I'm not sure what the best freeware would be for what I want to do, and I don't want to download twenty different programs before I find the right one. So, I'm looking for recommendations.
1) I want to find a program that lets me easily convert .wma files to .mp3's. 2) I also want to find a free, simple program that allows me to unzip .rar files. (This is another case with mp3's, except I have twenty songs zipped into one, and can only play them with VLC RAR-Loader.)
I might be asking for something that already been discussed on here but I can't find it. I need to find a program preferably free. I need to convert itunes m4v files to non-drm mp4 files.
I know it has been talked a lot about ripping and converting Blu Ray DVDs. Without a doubt Windows Users have a lot more apps to choose from - as always. Well, as I looked thru dozens of forums and tried out a lot - I still have no answer to my problem. I want to use m2ts - video files from Blu Ray Disks, that I copied onto a harddrive and convert them into 1920x1080 px MOV files - so that I can work with them later on. My interest is not to work with a 1to1 mkv-version of the whole film and sound and subtitles. I just want to convert the copied file to work with it in a video editing program. Some Apps seem not to offer 1920x1080 output file size. Is this possible without an complete Blu Ray Rip with Tools such as Pavtube etc? And can one only convert from an Original BD Disk?

What FREE Mac Application should I use to convert .MP4 video files to .SWF video files? I doesn't matter to me if they are good quality in the end because all of the videos are going to be on my MP3 player's screen.
I am using DVD decryptor to get some of my DVDs on my hard drive, (windows.) I am getting an iBook soon and wanted to know, do .VOB files work on Macs and if not, is there a way to convert them?
I know there have been a bunch of posts on this topic but I have a slightly different situation. I have .pst files from Outlook on XP but no longer have the PC and don't have a copy of Outlook. I need to find a way to convert the raw .pst files to an email system that will work on the Mac.
