can i burn xbox games on my macbook pro 15?
i would like to make some copies to keep some at my apartment and some at my parents without worrying about losing them in transit.
is this possible to do with the burner provided with the MBP? and what kind of discs would i need to use?
It is supposed to be the best burning package on mac. But I doubt it. I convert videos to dvd-video format using the absolutely brilliant windows7 application convertxtodvd. Please dont tell me to use a mac application instead of it. I tried it many times, there were always several problems(slow speed, subs etc). This is not the case here.
So, I want these dvd-videos in Video_ts format, to be burned in dvd disks using toast. It is supposed that video_ts folder are a standard folder, no matter the system you use. But toast has a different opinion. When I drag the folder in the dvd-video window, it asks to re-encode the video!!!If I try to burn this video_ts folder in windows machine using 'nero', no problem at all, straight burning! I really cannot understand why this happens.
Another problem I have is that the files I want toast to burn, usually reside to network computer. Is there any way to burn files from a network computer(win) using toast? Can toast access network or not? If not, I have to manually copy files to local disk, several minutes spent for copying gigabytes just to be able to burn them.
I am trying to back up some DVD is I OWN.I used MTR to get the Video_TS folder on my HD.I have been trying to get Burn to create a disk that will work on my stand alone DVD player (which supposedly supports DVD -/+R and RW well as DivX).WHICH TYPE OF DISK DO I TELL BURN TO CREATE? I've been trying to burn on to dual layer disk i.e 8.5 GB.Video_TS foldeer is 7 GBIf I chose the DATA TAB tell Burn to create a "DVD-video disk" I get a disk that my computer can play in the DVD App that functions like a DVD, BUT my stand alone DVD player won't recognise it. (tells me its a DATA disk).

Next I downloaded a freeware program called Burn that looks simple and is all I need. However I when I try to burn I get an error "Failed: There was a problem authoring the DVD" Also I tried to use the burn to a data DVD mode and it wrote the data to the DVD (you can physically see it's there) but when it got to finalize I got the same error message and you can't read the DVD contents. I have a new Mac Pro running 10.5.3 and the DVD drive is OEM PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-112D.
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy connect360 software stopped working all of a sudden. Latest version of connect360. Macpro running latest version of Leopard with all latest updates. I have two xbox360's, and both of them stopped working at the same time. Connect360 is running on the macpro. It says it is sharing, and sees the xbox popup. Says it is authorized.
On the xbox..
It sees the macpro. Sees the directory structure. When I click into a movie, it hangs there for a good 5 minutes. Then finally comes up with PLAY. When I play, it fails with "Lost connection to PC". Movies that were working previously now are not (nothing is working). Recycled router (all pc's, ps3, xboxlive are all working fine), uninstalled/resinstalled connect360. Rebooted a zillion times.
My CD has stopped reading disks that i put in. It chugs for a while and ejects them If I burn a cd it works perfectly and I can view the burned data.

I am trying to run TF2 via CrossOver Games 8.0.0 on Snow Leopard using the specs described in my sig. I've placed a support ticket with them, but they haven't been answering quick enough to my liking; I have an itchy trigger finger, I guess. So, has anybody had any experience with Wine and/or CrossOver that could help me out? For the sake of brevity (plus I don't want to type it out ), here's the link to the support ticket describing my problem.

When I select a new bottle, and make it a winxp type, I get the error message that says, "Exception EAccessViolation in module TheMovies at 00000000 Access violation at address 00000000 in module 'TheMovies.exe' Write of address 00000000" Does anyone know what I can do to get this game to install? View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been thinking of purchasing Parallels. I have some games that play great in Windows 7 via Bootcamp on my iMac (see sig) but play horribly in Parallels. I understand that BootCamp is the far superior solution, but I do enjoy the ability to switch between Snow Leopard and Win7 on the fly. My question is really around whats holding me back. I am using the trial version of Parallels. Is it Parallels, my RAM (I have 2GB alotted to Win7) or because it emulates a video card I believe? These aren't intense games... things like Icewind Dale and Diablo II.

You know the iMacs they have setup in the Apple Store with the cool kids game interface where you can select a game by clicking on it? No menus, no way to mess it up? Is that "program" available so I could use it at home for my kids? All they use their iMac for now is to play games.

I can't burn anything...I insert the DVD and choose "write from video_TS folder " or something(i can't remember it correctly).

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a very old foreign film I need to burn onto a DVD. Right now it's in two parts - a first part .avi and a second part .avi. The subtitles are .srt for the first part and .sub for the second part (so four files altogether with two video files and two subtitle files).
I have a PS3 that can read computer type files and has worked for other movies and things I've burned onto DVDs and even CDs, but apparently it won't show the subtitles in these files so I need to convert it or something. I am trying in iDVD but it's not letting me put the .srt or .sub files in there.

Right now my NAT is set to moderate and I am trying to open it. I've tried opening ports but there are so many IPs/computers in the network settings I feel like it might be interfering. Another thing is that I manually set my ethernet ip to 10.0.0.1 and my xboxs ip to 10.0.0.2. This is obviously not one of my ISPs IP adresses so should I change it to one that is in the DNS range?
