Suddenly I'm not able to open any MS Word 2004 docs because I keep getting the message "There is not enough memory or disk space to run the converter EPS Import". There is over 78 GB (out of 148) of memory left on the HD and I haven't installed or changed anything at all. I've done a Disk Verification in Utilities (grasping at straws?) and all is well. I'm working with Mac OS X 10.4.11 and MS Word 2004.

I have some MS word documents on my MacBook (intel) that I'd like to transfer to my white iBook. I tried plugging an enternal HD into the iBook (that HD contained the docs) but the iBook said that the HD wasn't compatible with it. So I went back on my MacBook and transfered the files from the HD to a memory stick.
However when I plugged that in and tried to open the files, MS word opened but the file did not. The word files are Word 2007 and on the iBook is an older OS9 version of Word. The iBook has Mac OSX panther on it, but the MS word opens in "classic mode". Any ideas on how I can get the docs to open on the iBook?
When I try to save a document I get the following error message no matter how simple the document name, even if it is one letter:Â
This is not a valid file name.
Try one or more of the following:
* Check the path to make sure it was typed correctly.
* Select a file from the list of files and folders.Â

Since I updated the latest software on 2/2/12, Office For Mac doesn't work correctly. I can not open Excel or Word documents from Office. I cannot save a newly created document. However, I can open an exsisting document by going to the hard drive and double clicking the document I need. I can't save changes I make to the document once opened.Â

I've got a Netgear DG834G V3 router. I've just updated the firmware to the latest one on Netgear's site, which unveiled a whole host of new security settings. After a bit of research I opted for WPA2-PSK (WiFi Protected Access 2 with Pre-Shared Key). Is this the best thing to go for out of the below options:
WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)
WPA-PSK (Wi-Fi Protected Access Pre-Shared Key)
WPA2-PSK(Wi-Fi Protected Access 2 with Pre-Shared Key)
WPA-PSK+WPA2-PSK
WPA-802.1x
WPA2-802.1x
WPA-802.1x+WPA2-802.1x
I've got myself a random password (thanks to a generator website) and I'm not allowing the broadcast of the name (SSID).
I recently found some old .doc files on my external hard drive. the files are passworded. I know what the password is but TextEdit won't open passworded files.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've read a lot about Keychain but I must be missing something. I want to be able to secure Keychain itself whereby if someone where to get to my Mac while I got up for a second, they wouldn't be able to open Keychain at all without a password. I don't want them to be able to gain access to the program at all without a password. Is that possible?

Now, when i say Files, i mean i can see all the folders and some files.
All the Folders are there, but like in windows an account has been made and a password put on it, so i can't copy these folders across to my computer because i can't read them so to speak.
I can get all the passwords if need be, but i don't get a password prompt or anything?
Any ideas how to get round it?
Does anyone know of a password protected browser for the iMac?  I have Atomic Browser for my iPad and would like something similar for my iMac. It needs to be quite simple (like safari ideally) but need to able to bookmark sites, use history etc so the multitude of "private" browsers (that don't store cookies, history etc) are no good.
