View 2 Replieshaving an issue with Mail. Iv had it set up to receive my hotmail emails however after i upgraded to leopard it wont remember the password. ill type in the correct one and even check "remember this in keychain" yet 2 minutes - a few days later it will ask for it again.
View 24 Replies View RelatedEvery few minutes, my Mail rejects my Hotmail password and says "The Hotmail POP serverrejected the password for user ______". I looked it up on google and apparently hotmail may be set up to reject passwords or deny POP access if the polling rate is too fast... I'm not sure what's going on. I click "remember password in keychain" every time but it pops up every hour at least.

View 5 Replies View RelatedStarted with issues of my accounts wanting a password every time it checked my hotmail accounts.I could fix them a few weeks ago by deleting the account and adding a new one (same one really).thought I would do that yesterday. deleted my hotmail account.clicked the + button/tab to add a new account- NOTHING happens. zero/nada etc.so I went to file and highlighted add a accountsame thing nothing happens.so dumb me, I went into my preferences and deleted the (should not have emptied the trash) mail preferences thinking it would help.
same thing can't add accounts only delete. only now I have no accounts.rebuilt preferences, deleted caches, rebuilt again, restarted etc.any ideas or help here.don't want to go back to entourage (quit that many years ago).

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to recover a password from Firefox, or possibly Safari. It does NOT show up on Keychain Access so I assume that I never actually saved the password, but I was wondering if there's an add-on or a separate program for Macs that will let me recover the password?

View 8 Replies View RelatedSo long story short I set up an account for my husband a while ago on my Macbook, he had full admin rights and privileges as do I, but he hasn't signed on for a few months. He has a ton of work on his account that he moved over from an old hard drive but he's forgotten his password. We've had history with password issues and he doesn't want me to see his and I don't want to know it. I was wondering if there was any way if I let him log on my admin account if he could simply view his password even though he was another user. According to him he remembers locking a bunch of documents using the same password so a simple reset won't work. Is there any way to use keychain to look at his admin account password without resetting it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to find my password for my second gmail account which I haven't used for a while, and I'd rather not change the password. (I keep forgetting passwords, and hate resetting them). how to find my password for the first gmail account (Finder>Utilities>Keychain>imap.gmail.com>enter email account name>select 'show password'>enter Mac user password). I was hoping that I could just change the first account name to the second under the imap.gmail.com entry, but when I do this, the password shown continues to be that of the first account, not the second.Â

I bought my first IMac last month. I changed my access password yesterday and now I can use my computer. It does not like the password I am typing. It asks me to get a Recovery Key. I have contacted Apple support and they told me to do a Recovery using the Command key and R at the beginning of the session. I have done that and it brings me back to the unlock my system with a password. How do I get a recovery key to unlock my system?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently installed a new internal hard drive on my mac which meant copying all my music back into iTunes. This has left me with a bit of work to organise all my music again, particularly those songs that I purchased through the iTunes store. The long and the short of it is that it's asking my to authorise the purchased tracks using the account that I used to buy them. This wouldn't be a problem except that I cant work out which password it is that I use on that account. The problem is every time I click the "forgot password?" button to reset it all I get is webpage with an error message (see attached picture).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm on a 2008 model Mac Pro 8-core system for work. For whatever reason it doesn't have a recovery partition. I read that if I don't have a recovery partition, I can't make a recovery USB bootable drive....so how do I make one? And no, I cannot reinstall the OS on here, that would be beyond detrimental to what's going on here. (too many details to get into)Â
Alternatively, can I make one with my 10.8.5 MacbookPro at home and run it here on my Lion system?Â
I am trying to recovery a file created in Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac. The file was lost after a power outage. In an attempt to recover the file, my first thought was to check for the file in the Microsoft AutoRecovery 2008 folder within my hardrive. However, the folder only contains a total of four files! Why? If my Microsoft Word is set up to auto save a document every 10 minutes...then how is it possible the folder could only contain 4 files? I am at a loss of how else to recover this file. I am currently attempting to do so with a free trial of Data Recovery Software to see if the file I lost even still exists, with no success so far.Â

Still getting to grips with the change from Windows to Mac. All the years I was on Windows. I have used MSN and Hotmail all my friends use it and has been the norm, now on Mac I read MSN is not that great. Ok a lot of the posts I've read are pretty old but most seem to recommend Adium. I see you can get a beta version on MSN 8 for mac which includes webcam and audio chat, but full of bugs still? As for hotmail, what's the best way to run it through OS X mail? for example izymail?
