I feel stupid for even asking this because it seems like something I'd normally be able to figure out but I've searched a bit with no results. Oddly enough, this only seems to have become an issue since the 10.6.4 update. In Mail, I can't seem to set the default email address to be used when composing a new email.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two email addresses set up with Mail. But I want one of them to be the default email address when I compose a new message. I often forget to change the email address and end up sending with an email address I didn't want to use.
Mail 2.0 has this, but I can't seem to find it anywhere in Mail 3.0?
Anyone know how I can set a permanent Reply To header for all my mail accounts in Mail? I've found a couple scripts by searching the net, but all old stuff and nothing that works. Anyone care to take a crack at it? Applecare's official stance is that you need to type it in manually for every message. There has to be some way around this.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am wondering how, if possible, to set the default "reply-to" address on Apple Mail. I know I can manually add it to each message I compose, but that's rather cumbersome. I'd like to be able to configure Mail so every message I send out will automatically use the same "reply-to" mail address. Is it possible?

View 2 Replies View RelatedFor various reasons I prefer to use Entourage as my default e-mail client, but although I have set Entourage to be my default email client in Preferences whenever another application tries to send an automated email (Such as iCal for an alarm) then it tries to open Mail which is not set up...
Does anyone know if its possible to change this? I don't like being forced to use Mail.
In Entourages address book view there are the following categories under the drop down menu:
Changed in the Past 7 Days
Due Today.
Family Category.
Personal Category.
Work Category.
How can I add other categories under the address view (eg: friends)? How can I add a view of contacts that have no category association. How can I change the current default views?
Does anyone know if there is a way to change the default email editor that launches when you click on an email link in Safari? I'd like for it to launch Gmail in a new window rather than launch Apple's Mail.
I've been able to do this in Firefox and would love to be able to do it with Safari.
in Mail, the order of the accounts specified which was the default one (i.e. the one at the top of the list). I have 3 email accounts. For some reason, my Gmail account is always the default one. I want my MobileMe account to be the default.

View 10 Replies View RelatedLike Outlook, but not Outlook And not Entourage. I tried it and it's sooooo slow and does not have nearly the feature set of Outlook. I know outlook is coming to Mac with the next Office release, but I can't wait that long. Perhaps it's just being a lifelong Windows user and being tethered to Outlook for the past 10 years or so. I have been using the native Mac tools (Mail, iCal, Address Book) since I got my MBP about three months ago and I'm getting frustrated. They are all perfectly good independent apps and they do integrate nicely, but they just aren't as powerful as what I want. Especially in the to-dos category - way too wimpy for me! Moreover, I am really tired of having to flip between apps and have 3+ windows open for something I am used to being able to see in a single window. In a perfect world, I'd like it to have iPhone sync as well, but if I can at least get something better on my desktop, that would be better than nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy prob is that I have directed my gmail and my office mail address both to my mac mail. I get all the messages and my office account exists as well, but when I respond to a mail that came into my office account and I reply to it, my gmail address is seen as a sender address, not my office one. What can I do? I have already put my office email in the outgoing add. and the smtp field.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to setup mail on Lion Sever (7.3). The only way I can get it to accept incoming mail is to specify the whole FQDN of the server in the address. For example the domain name is example.com and I have a user set up called john. Sending mail to john@server.example.com works.
But sending mail to john@example.com (which is what I want) returns an error:
554 554 5.7.1 <john@example.com>: Relay access denied (state 13).
For internal DNS, I have:
example.com - primary zonemail.expample.com - alias server.example.comserver.example.com - 192.168.1.2 [URL] - alias server.example.com MX record [URL]
I see references here to problems in mail on 7.3 but not this specific problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have just signed up for a MobileMe email address. I want to change my existing iTunes account registered email address to this new @me.com address. How do I go about changing my registered iTunes account email address?
When an email comes to me with the following looking "From" field:
From: <person@company.co.uk>
That's with greater than and less than character at the start and end of it. It messes up the reply address.
When I reply to one of these emails Mail.app sets the "To:" field to be:
"person@company.co.uk> <person@company.co.uk" <person@company.co.uk>
When it should just be:
To: person@company.co.uk
Anybody get this behaviour?
Incidentally, you can search for these kinds of simple emails in Mail.app by searching in "All Mailboxes"/"From" for:
> <
That's greater than, space, less than.

Gmail is my default email client. I'm trying to send an email blast to my groups in address book. When I right click on a group, and click "send to...", none of the email address show up in the TO field, only the name of the Group appears.Previously, I used mac mail and clicking "send to" group would result in all email addresses going right where they're supposed to go.I don't know how I changed the client to Gmail, but if I can't get it to work, I'd like to switch it back.

Through the years I've clicked this, over and over: "If you prefer not to receive commercial email from Apple, or if you've changed your email address, please click here." I'm trying to detect a pattern. I suspect that every time our family buys a new apple product we are hit with advertisements. I recently bought a new iPod Touch. I wonder if this is why the offer from apple to leave me alone fails, over and over.

When printing from Address Book, the Style settings you select are supposed to be remembered as the default for the next time you print from that Style. For example, if you print an envelope from Address Book, you select Style: Envelopes and then choose your options such as "Print my address", Print Company, the font, page orientation, etc. Normally ALL of the options you select under "Style" are remembered for the next time you print and select that Style.
I know this because it works flawlessly on one of my machines (both machines are running 10.7.3). However, it doesn't work on another machine. For example, when I select Style: Envelopes and select a certain font and page orientation, etc., these selections are not remembered as the defaults when I try to print another envelope. I tried deleting the address book .plist files and restating Address Book, but it didn't work.
