MacBook :: TV Connection - No Video Shown With SVideo
Sep 13, 2009I have a 13.3 inch White Macbook from late 2007. I have a Mini-DVI to Svideo and Composite connector and I've bought both an Svideo Cable and a Yellow male to male composite video cable. It seems I've tried almost everything and wasted hours but the most I've been able to get is: sound and a tripled, Greyish, grainy image of the movie on the TV. My tv doesn't have any other connections and with the svideo no picture shows up at all, just the sound. I've tried every display option on my macbook, tv and in my video player but nothing seems to work.

Sep 13, 2010I've been playing Starcraft 2. I played first in Leopard but the performance was no good unless graphics were set to low. Even then, it was only just playable. So I switched to XP. Gameplay on medium graphics is great in XP. I've noticed that even though my Macbbok Pro is plugged in to the wall, it drains the battery. Last night I played so long that the computer shut down after the battery ran out of juice.
Specs: Macbook Pro 2.4, 256MB 9600GT, 2GB of ram (I have 4GB coming in the mail.) Leopard fully updated. Windows XP fully updated. I am plugged into the wall, not a surge protector.

Oct 23, 2009So my 13-inch MacBook Pro's trackpad has become more and more annoying over the months. I'm trying to determine if what's annoying me is normal.
Basically, I can only guarantee the trackpad to register a click if I really push down hard on it. If I click normally--with an audible click--it will not register 50-70% of the time. I've put a YouTube video of it up at the link below.

Jul 27, 2010i have a new imac OSX 10.6 and wish to play Tomb Raider. when i put in the CD a box appears stating that the classic environment is no longer supported. Can anyone give ma a solution? I tries to go to sheepshaver but I don't understand the instructions, as I don't have a degree in computers.

Nov 20, 2008I recently added a 4GB chip into my late 2008 MBP 2.8ghz to bring it to a total of 6GB. Everything works great as long as the computer is in video performance mode. However, as soon as I switch to energy saving mode, I get a crash shortly after login. The only solution is to remove the chip, turn back to performance mode, and reinstall the chip.
Any other reports like this? Should I try a different vendor? I've already swapped out the chip once already, and the RAM vendor reports that they have no additional information. The chip I had worked fine in their test machine, but they didn't have a 2.8 ghz to test on.

May 21, 2009Some of the emails I receive from friends show a placeholder for an image. The placeholder has the filename (example.jpg) in the top left hand corner. In the centre of the placeholder is a tiny blue square with a question mark. Is there a way to display the pics in the email along with the text. Funny stories are not quite the same without the pics! I can preview & download the images with no problem. So it looks like the images are there, its just that mail doesn't want to display them sometimes?

I did a search within Spotlight with my one friends that I email a lot, put his name in, and up popped 162 emails that I had sent to him since March 2008. How can these emails be deleted so they don't show up in Spotlight? Should I uncheck the boxes that say Store, messages on the server? Regardless, this would not cause the emails to show up/not show up within Spotlight on my Mac, would it?

Oct 23, 2010On itunes, I have my account/library and my wife has hers. For some reason her library disappeared. Her folder is still in the music folder along with mine, but her music, apps will not show up in itunes and her account name also is gone when opening itunes with option c I can see both accounts and when I choose hers and itunes opens everything is blank if that makes sense.
She is afraid to do a sync because she is afraid she'll loose the apps, music and other items from her itouch. I don't want to mess with it because I'm nervous about messing my library up as well trying to restore hers. Is there anything I can do to get her library to load in itunes and not distrurb mine and resync her itouch and my iphone? I didn't see any answers to this specific 2nd account issue and I hope the description of the issue is clear.
