I recently switched from windows Microsoft Word to Mac pages. I just wanted to know how, when I press tab to go to a new bullet indent level, I can make it do a certain order (Circular bullet, dash, Another kind of bullet, etc.) without changing the type of bullet through the inspector each time.

I am trying to use bullets with long text. I want the additional lines of text with that bullet to be indented so that all of the text lines up vertically. Here's an example. (The line represents the empty space I would like to have.
Is it possible to have custom numbered bullets? I'm doing something with a very specific formatting and it needs to have a "3 HEADING" formatting but Pages doesn't seem to offer the number without the dot ("3. HEADING"). Is it possible to do a custom numbering scheme somehow?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAs a recent convert from PowerPoint to Keynote 09, I can't figure out how to do the following: In PowerPoint, I'd often have text animations (e.g. bullet points would appear in a certain way when the mouse clicked) such that the bullet points would appear in groups. For example, the first two would appear together, then on the next mouse click, the next three would appear at the same time. In Keynote it seems you can do this, but the bullets don't appear together, the second will only appear when the first has finished "appearing". Is it possible to get the bullets to appear in groups on a mouse click?

I have tried a 3rd party app to do this, but... If my computer was off or asleep when it was supposed to back up, it would get an error. It would not just do the backup when i turned it on or when it came out of sleep like stock Time Machine does. I have also seen a way to change the time incraments in the Terminal. (I am very good with it, not a noob) I have tried this and it screws up time machine completely. Maybe it does not work with the newest OS X. By the way... I have a 2010 MacBook Pro, got it 2 months ago.
Does anyone know a solid 3rd party app, that will work seamlessly. Or has anyone changed the time in Terminal and are currently using something different than 1 hour. There is a lot of examples online, but I would like the codeing that you literally used.

but every.. 1 in 10 i would say, pages just get stuck whilst loading (just infront of the http:// area) and i would need to go back a page and re click the link..
its not a major problem it just gets on my nerves sometimes whilst surfing.
I've been using Safari 4 for a while now and I am starting to notice that with multiple tabs and sometimes when I go to certain pages it tends to take a while to load - which is really annoying. I tried Google Chrome but it doesn't have a bookmarks manager which is just stupid. I hear that Firefox takes a while to start up.

It played havoc with the registrar at my college. My Address Book card has my first name as "G" and my middle name as "Ralph". Whenever programs automatically fill in my name, they use my first initial only. For example, Pages puts my author name as "G Kuntz". Is there any way to get my default name to be "G Ralph Kuntz", other than setting my first name to "G Ralph" and my middle name to blank ("")?

But when I visit Safari or Firefox, I want the language to automatically switch in English. I sometimes forget to do this manually and it gets annoying, especially when you start writing in spanish and after some minutes you realize you were actually writing English.

So after searching and figuring out how to change the default font for most everywhere on Pages [URL], I am still having trouble changing footnotes/endnotes to Times New Roman as the default font. On my desired document, I create a new footnote, type something, change the entire font to Times New Roman, then delete the footnote before saving as a template.

Something I've done in the past few days has caused Safari to not change color for visited links "only" on Google search pages, which is where it's most needed. This is still working fine on FireFox. I tried creating another user account and it works fine with that...just not with my primary account.
I've done all the typical things...repaired permissions, repaired disk, completely reset Safari to default and made sure all caches, etc. were cleaned out...both manually and with Onyx, reset associated .plist files, history, cookies, private browsing...
Returning to a Google search page still shows all visited links as blue, as if they'd never been visited. Another clue is if I log out of my Google account (which I have to be logged into 24/7 for Gmail, Google bookmarks, iGoogle, etc., it starts working, then stops working as soon as I log into my Google account again. I posted this on Google Groups but got no response.
This also works fine on my wife's Mac, so it's definitely a problem just in my user account. I know I could just add a new account and use that, but it would mean re-installing all 70 applications I have now installed as they're not setup for use except with my account. I'd like to avoid that and find the actual culprit. BTW, this worked fine for a long time...just quit working about a week ago, but it wasn't in conjunction with any new hardware or software.
I'll soon be moving to a place that has a wireless router, but not anywhere close enough to where my computers will be to have a hardwire connection. So, if my blackbook is connected wirelessly, is there any way to share that connection with a PC that will be near it (used for games)? Something like connecting the ethernet ports on the blackbook and the PC with a length of CAT5 cable? Or will I have to bite the bullet and buy a wireless card/usb dongle for my PC?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been using this keyboard shortcut which is Command-Shift-L for bullets in Outlook, Notes and almost any word processing applications. All of a sudden this seems to have gone and now replaced by a Google Search. I tried researching a lot on the internet and found many articles which confirmed that this was indeed a keyboard shortcut but I couldnt find even one which could tell me what happened to it and how to make it work again. I've got so used to this shortcut because my work involves mainly around drafting emails and documents.Â

Now I did find one website link which told me how to disable the Safari trigger for this shortcut and I was successful in removing that shortcut. But I am stuck at the point where it's just blank. So now when I press these keys, nothing happens because no shortcut is set to it.
I've already gone through many links which say create paragraphs, some links also say that Option + 8 key works for the bullets but that doesnt work for me either. However, I dont want that too. I would want the original shortcut which was there and how to get it back or even configure it back to the way it was.

I recently upgraded the Magic Bullet Looks plugin to version 2.5.3 to use in Final Cut Pro X 10.1.4. Since upgrading, all previous projects using this plugin now show the missing plugin error. However, I can create new projects and use the plugin on new clips just fine. If I switch off the plugin on existing clips the missing error still shows and the clip wont render.Â
I ve tried contacting Red Giant the plugin's maufacturer but very difficult to get a response.Â

In upgraded to Safari 5.1.4 last night. Now I have multiple crashes in web inspector. I want to look at the history.state object in the console, so I type history the the period and web inspector crashes.I was debugging some javascript and part way through, web inspector crashes. Web inspector did not do this with 5.1.3. Being new to the Mac world. I have a MacBook Pro and would like to revert back to Safari 5.1.3 so I can complete my project. Does anyone know how I can revert to the previous version of Safari? I am unable to do my work.

what the difference is between selecting a file in finder and pressing command-I ("get info") vs option-command-I ("inspector")? At first glance, there appears to be absolutely no difference except for the fact that the Inspector "close window" button is much, much smaller, while the "get info" window controls are more conventionally-sized (same size as Safari or Finder window buttons).
When copying a table from say a webpage or even a RTF file, Pages does not retain its table formatting. Instead it separates the rows and columns and puts them on separate lines.
See it for yourself, try copying one of the tables on this page into Pages [URL]
The only way I can get the table into Pages is to paste into NeoOffice (which retains the correct formating), save the file with the .doc extension then open in Pages.
