Applications :: LimeWire Not Working On My Mac??
Oct 2, 2010I'm a new Mac user (PowerBook G4) and i've downloaded LimeWire 3 times now and it doesn't want to work. I get the disk image, downloaded it, got the LimeWire icon, but when I click on the icon it bounces 2 or 3 times then disappear.

Apr 13, 2012Been having probs w Mac Pro w Lion seeming to hang on shutdown/restart. Have 'reopen windows' unchecked in prefs. Was able to run through safe mode boot once but now seems to hang about 20% in everytime. Have had to do shutdowns w power button (I hate that) or /by ctrl-option-command-esc Boot single user run rack -fy says 'apparently ok'Mount -uw / reports removed 10 orphaned or unlinked files and 10 directories?

Oct 31, 2009So I just decided to install Limewire today. When I installed the newest version I couldn't use it because it required Java 1.6. I learned on the internet that the only way to get around this was to buy Mac Leopard and I'm not about to do that for Limewire. So I thought I would take another route and try to install an older version of Limewire and get around not having Java 1.6 that way. I downloaded Limewire 4.18.8 from this web page: [UR:] . When I open the installer on the computer, I click "Continue' on the first page, I choose to install the application on my hard drive, I get to the Install page, and click "Install." It then tells me: "You cannot continue. There is nothing to install."

Feb 27, 2009so i havent used my ibook in awhile, so i ran all of my system updates (had to do it like 3 times...). i then opened my limewire, and it asked if i wanted to update, i was on a roll so why not?
i updated, restarted my computer and now when i try to open it it says
"this application requires java 1.6 or later, but only the following java versions are installed:1.5.0, 1.4.2, 1.3.1, 1.5, 1.3, 1.4. updating to a newer version of mac os x may resolve this."
i know i can update os x, but that will cost me $129!
is there anyway i can uninstall this limewire update?

Aug 14, 2009Okay I'm thinking that my iMac 20" (a1224) has a virus after I started playing with Limewire...When I press the power button the only thing I receive is the Apple logo and the spinner below it as if something is about to happen but it never does. I even let it sit overnite hoping for something and no results. I purchased the computer from some random so there is no disc.

Feb 28, 2010I've been running OSX 10.6.2 without any problem for the last six months until today....Now when I try to run applications (other than Safari which is working slow, but otherwise ok) the application icon will appear in the dock for 2-3 seconds and then disappears without opening the program. I'm not aware that I've added or changed anything that might have triggered this problem. I can however open the applications without any problem if I boot into safe mode. I've tried more than one user profile, disk utilities, resetting PRAM, running Onyx maintenance utilities etc.
