I when I am in Keynote, and working on slides that are smaller than the window size (the picture will explain) I like the slide to be in the center of the windows - like Powerpoint.
I hate to have to use Powerpoint, just because I need to work with objects off the screen. I have looked everywhere for the setting; but not found it yet. I know it must be out there!
Is there any way to give each separate slide in my Keynote presentation a different time when it is self playing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am making a presentation for one of my classes and I need to insert equations into Keynote. The type of equations I need are one's that use theta's, delta's, lots of greek symbols, and they have to be in variable form with stuff on both sides of the equal sign. I can't find a way to do this. I've tried creating them with Word then cutting and pasting, but they don't show up. Anyone able to do this or have an idea?
I am using the latest Keynote version and office Mac X.
P.S., I thought about using PowerPoint, but everyone will be using that so I want have my presentation stand out, so I am going to use Keynote.
I am pasting a screenshot on each slide and I wan them to fill the entire slide but their size is 70% the hight of a normal slide. I do not want to stretch them vertically because proportions will be a mess. I want to project slides in the size of the screenshots. Is this possible? can I change the size of the slides to accommodate the size of the screenshot?

Unfortunately, I guess these presenters love color, and so all slides are in a blue background with white text or some variation thereof. Personally, I like to have a print out of the slides when I am reading/preparing for my future cases. etc. and so I physically print these slides out. Unfortunately, the unnecessary background color is an unnecessary burden on my printer, and so I was wondering how I can change the the background and text in one shot so I don't have print out the unnecessary color.
I have tried trying to change the background from within powerpoint, but because the text is often in white, this causes the text to "disappear" on a white background. The only way to get the text back is to change the text color on a slide by slide basis. This is fine if the presentations are short, but most of these presentations are 200+ slides.
I was hoping there is some trick either in powerpoint or keynote to be able to change slide themes (such that background and text can change in one shot).
Do you know of a program that will allow my Mac (Snow Leopard) to play the music included with most Windows PPS slide shows. Keynote (a Mac program) displays the slide shows perfectly but I can never get the Music.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm new to Mac and Keynote and experienced a problem today that I didn't know how to fix.
In the past, I hooked up my MacBook Pro (using the connector dealie that allows you to plug the MacBook into a projector with the prong thingees on it) to an overhead projector mounted in a conference room and it worked fine (I can't remember if I was running PowerPoint or Keynote -- I may have used each app during the different times I was in that room). That hook up worked better than fine, much easier than hooking up a PC.
However today, I was in a different room and had to use an LCD projector to do my presentation. When I hooked everything up and turned it on, I immediately got my desk top on the screen in the room as expected.
But when I opened Keynote and went to "play" the slide show, I got the presenter's version of the slide show (with a timer, a view of the "current" slide and a view of the "next" slide) coming through the LCD projector and onto the screen in the room and the actual slide showed up on my MacBook Pro screen. In other words, it looked like the opposite of what you would think which screen would be projected where.
I have a BIG presentation next week in another city and was planning to use my MacBook Pro. Anyone know what I need to do if I have this problem again to make sure the "slide show" shows up on the screen in the room (through the LCD projector), and not the "presenter's version" on screen?
How can I create a full-screen view of my Keynote slides in Snow Leopard? I'm going to be importing into ScreenFlow to create a video.

I opened a slideshow file, probably made with Powerpoint, and it went full screen and is playing Glenn Miller's in the Mood over and over. Strangely, I can't see any of the images being played and it's just a blank white square in the middle of the fully blacked out screen. What do I press to get this to stop and the program to close?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was using my MBP when I noticed that the display (the built in one) looked a little washed out. To make sure my color profile was set to the correct one, I opened up the display panel in System Preferences. The moment I opened it, the display snapped back to its regular appearance. As far as I can tell, it goes into the washed out version after going to screensaver and coming back, and going into display prefs is the only way to restore it. Anyone seen this before or know how to keep it from doing this?

I am looking for a software that will allow me to play and edit the slide show and music at the same time, i.e. I will have the show and the audio track available for editing on the screen at the same time. The slideshow is a series of jpegs, that will have 3 to 4 timelines running together at the same time, each timeline will be fading in or out or dissovling at the same time so that the transition will create a new image through layering the timelines (am I making sense?).
For the sound, I need to be able to mix multiple tracks and while the show is playing and will be able to increase/decrease the volume of individual tracks at any point of the show. Final cut will suit the video need of my show, but not the audio need (if it does, please let me know), while sound booth will satisfy my audio needs (but I cannot put them on the same screen). I am looking for software that will do the show + sound editing job on the same screen and will not cost as much as FinalCut or Soundbooth. It would be great if there is a good free software.
Im doing a photo slideshow with some video sliced in. It should all have clean transitions that include slight zooming, scaling, panning. Each transition needs to be customized for each shot so the zooming doesn't randomly zoom into an arm or a forehead or something rediculous as of now I presume adobe premiere is what I will be using as it can do all that. I was just curious if ilife09 does it or something else so that I can get it done fast and as streamlined as possible.

Is there any slideshow applications for mac os x that support music and multiple pictures pre slide?
iMovie is close except you can't create a collage of pictures per slide.
I am a complete newbie to Keynote. Are there any books or websites that have good indepth literature to teach me how to get the most out of Keynote? I know there are video tutorials but I'd rather have a book that I can have sitting next to me when I am on my Macbook Pro or that I can read when I am out and about.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Sharp TV only support 1080i, so I use a DVI-DVI cable to connect a monitor, then use Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter connect Sharp TV.
Then boot Mac mini, I got Open Screen on Monitor, and I set HDMI adapter to 1080i, then I power off and unplug DVI cable and boot again.
Well, I got what I want on Sharp TV, it is 1080i, but I found a 720p, I selected it, now the TV becomes to black screen with "Invalid video signal"!
I reconnect monitor, so Sharp TV is ok, but if I unconnect monitor, the sharp TV will be black screen.
I thought it might be some display settings are saved, because it was good when I first use TV after set to 1080i, but I selected 720p that is PAL TV, not for mine NTSC TV, after that selected, THe sharp TV can't be used alone, how can I reset display settings? what can I do for this case?
After playing with the display settings to adjust a second screen I've noticed that my display during startup and at the 'log in' page are not in the optimal size and resolution.

When Steve Jobs does his presentation he frequently uses a transition whereas a big announcement is being made, say, a price drop or a launch date the announcement is made with a transition that drops down and lands with a 'thud' and there is then smoke rising from the word that dropped down.
Can anyone tell me what transition this is and where I could get it to implement into my presentation?

What is the best way for someone to save a Windows PPT file (XP version of PPT) that it will play the "most nicely" with Keynote? Does anyone know of any options on the Windows side that will help?
The main issues that I seem to be seeing are that the slides are opened in Keynote at 720x540 instead of 1024x768 and that there are a few font issues. I'm just wondering if there is anyway to "idiot" proof this and cut out any additional steps after opening the project on a Mac.
