I have been searching everywhere for an answer on this one - and if the answer is a simple NO! Then how does one go about doing this, many bought DVDs are able to take the viewer to a website is there a way for the consumer to achieve the same effect? It would be particularly handy to get the email link to work (In much the same way that it does using a PDF document).

I am running SL and the Gmail Notifier for Mac, and Firefox. Every time I click an email link in Firefox, instead of opening up a "compose mail" page in Gmail like it used to, recently I just get sent to an old-style HTML only Gmail page, as pictured below.
Anyone else experiencing this? it's getting pretty annoying that any time I click an email, I get sent to a useless Gmail page. I've tried googling the problem, but it never turns up results that are relevant.
My friend's just got a new MacBook Pro, MacOS 10.6.2, latest version of Safari, and she's having problems with a lot of websites displaying some links and text strangely, as A's in boxes (pic attached). Oddly, the other 2 user accounts on her machine are fine with the same websites! She's cleared the cache, restarted Safari and her Mac (many times), changed the text encoding (and then back again), but nothing solves it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having two problems with the Mail app that perhaps you all could help me with.
First, when I send out emails with links in them, 50% of the time the link is cut in half; the text is there, but the clickable part of the link is only for half of the test.
For example it would show up like this:

I know the recipients can just copy and paste the whole email, but I send these emails to a lot of family friend members who aren't computer literate. Plus it's just a hassle for the reader.
My second question is that whenever I reply to an email, my emails don't display the image that was in the original email. It just says "attachmentXXXX" at the bottom. Is there anyway to fix this?
After downloading the latest OS version (OS X 10.7.4), immediately after, I was not able to read pdf links from company websites.

I tried using google chrome to see if it was just safari but nothing will load up. I tried connecting to messenger for mac and it won't sign in as well. Anyone know whats up with airport?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Mac-user having used PC:s for 25 years. On my Windows Desktop it was easy to place new icons with shortcuts to websites I often visit. I have tried to do this on my Mac, creating Bookmarks, exporting them to Desktop. Iicons appear. But when clicked they don't connect with the webaddresses I have given.
I have read Q&A from someone who tried to give similar shortcuts to customers, but I did not understand the answers. I'm Swedish and Mac Keyboard and Desktop menues etc are in Swedish so the exact terms in English may be difficult to translate. My problem is different since it's only on my Mac I need the shortcuts/icons/links.
I visited a couple of movie streaming sites and now whenever I visit any website, clicking on links etc opens up spam pages. I have cleared the cache and pop ups are blocked but it keeps happening. Â

I have recently discovered that on safari, on certain websites such as bbc.co.uk, there are words that are highlighted in green and underlined. Everytime i click on a 'green word' it takes me to some kind of pop-up style website that looks pretty dodgy. Also it happens on google chrome. My computer is running a tad slower, but nothing out of the ordinary. I fear something may have downloaded by accident via the internet.

The thing I hate about iDVD (besides it taking so long to burn video DVDs on Mac) is that the themes are more than I need and take up valuable disc space.
1. Are there any iDVD themes that are simply a menu...no music, no video clip previews, no sappy backgrounds, etc?
2. Is there a free (or cheap) alternative to iDVD excluding Toast?
3. I'd be using .mov or .mp4 as my source video.
4. I have iDVD 7.0.4 and am using Snow Leopard. I really don't want to pay for iLife 11 as I never use Garage Band or iPhoto. iMovie kinda sucks too.
I was using Sarari 5.1.4 to send Email links, but after installing Google Chrome, Chrome asked me if I would like to send Email links using Chrome, I selected YES since I thought it would allow me to send Email links when using Chrome. Now, I cannot send Email links using Safari. I uninstalled Chrome, but I still cannot send Email links through Safari.
I get the following message when trying to send Email through Safari:
An Email message cannot be created to send the link becasue Safari can't find an Email application. You can use the Mail application included with Mac OS X to send email. To do so, you might need to install Mail using the Mac OS X Install discs. I tried the following without any luck:
In a Finder window select your home folder in the Sidebar on the left. Open the Library folder, then the Caches folder, then the com.apple.Safari folder.
Move the cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Relaunch Safari and try again.
I have reset Safari as well without any luck. Is there any other way to set Safari to send Email links "File> Email Link To This Page" so that it will send Emails

Just recently when I click on some new emails, it opens a different email in my inbox than was indicated. Not all emails act this way.Â
I have quit Mail and restarted, but it doesn't clean up the problem.
If i right click a file and go to open with it list's windows apps and if i open with that windows app VMware Fusion starts and my emulated XP opens up.
I don't want this how do i remove it? I only want OS X apps showing in finder not windows apps.
Email links in Safari also opens up VMware Fusion and then outlook!

A lot of websites I go to and click on Contact us or email us nothing happens and therefore I cannot find the email address. I have found a Way around that is plug in my Mouse and right click properties and sometimes I get the email address. However this is annoying as happens alot. Yes pop up window is turned off so if pop up should work. Example of webpage below [URL]. I click on there contacts email address and it just flashes but never see address. How can I see the email address?

I have the first and third option checked in the tabs preference but it doesn't seem to matter. I'm using the Safari Beta but cannot locate a way to make links appear in a new tab rather than a new window. In the prefs it has the ability to place links from other Apps into a new tab, but it appears the only way to do that within Safari is by CMD + click. Is there anyway to make anything clicked open in a new tab instead?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAbout three days ago I started having a strange latency problem with my internet connection. When I click on a link, it takes a long time to load and sometimes doesn't load at all. If I click on the "stop" button and then "reload", it loads very quickly. This doesn't happen every time I click a link, or with every link I click, but it's happening often enough that it's seriously slowing down my browsing. I'm on a Mac Pro connected via ethernet to a Comcast high speed cable connection. The cable modem is also connected to a D-Link router with a wireless network, which we use for the three other computers in the house. Here's the strange thing: the other three computers aren't having the same latency problem. It's just my Mac Pro connected directly to the network that's having the problem.
