Applications :: Individual URL Links Can Be Reordered By Dragging Them Up Or Down?
Aug 18, 2007
In Firefox>Bookmarks>Organize Bookmarks I want to move/reorder the folders, moving one folder in particular upwards, but I can't drag it up and can't find a way to move it up. Individual URL links can be reordered by dragging them up or down.
Whenever I drag a tab out of the tab bar to make it open in a new window, it shows the window thumbnail and will not open in a new window (hangs up). Yes, I am letting go of the trackpad and it still does not work. I have tried removing the Safari plist and still no work.
I am not sure how to 'title' my exact problem, so I'll explain it as best I can. I've also attached an Illustration of the problem which might explain it better.
I currently have the items in my folders displayed as 'columns'. When I open a new folder, the folders contents are displayed in the next column to the right. So after going a few folders in, the scroll bar on the bottom of the finder window is somewhat large. This is normal.
However the problem is, whenever I drag a document from my desktop into the most recently opened folder, finder resets the scrollbar to the position on the left side, forcing me to drag the window over again every time. This it a rather large annoyance, since the way I work I pull and replace lots of files from the same series of folders.
I just recently upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard (finally), and ever since then I have noticed this strange issue with Finder. It did not happen in Tiger or Leopard.
Is this something that Snow Leopard now does by default now, or am I the only one experiencing this?
my sister is going overseas and wants all of her box sets of TV shows on her lappy as she is going to study and needs a way to keep her self entertained, me being the nice guy i am with a mac pro, thought i would do it on my machine... Which leads me to the issue: How do i get handbrake to save each disc as individual chapter divx's? i have 30 DVD's of 5eps to get sorted in around 24hrs :O
I imported my photo collection into iPhoto. I wanted to know if there was a way I could make changes i.e. enhance function on the photos and then do a "save as" to another individual file as opposed to saving it in the main, big iphoto file. I couldn't find a way to do that through iPhoto.
Is there a way to back up individual movies/tv series in iTunes? I've ripped a lot of my dvds to itunes to watch on my iphone. My macbook HD is really starting to get full. Can I just do a TM backup, and then just delete whole tv series? And then, can I individually restore them from the TM backup? If so, how? Does this make sense?
Is there a way to delete selected attachments from Mac Mail without deleting ALL of them? I often want to keep the image files of an email, but delete documents. The only thing I can find is the Remove Attachments menu command, which removes everything.
Any free software available for stitching several individual photos into one panorama photo. Windows has one that works terrific but cannot find any for OS X or in I Photo 2009.
I have the all three seasons of the Mighty Boosh and would really like to rip the files onto my computer so i can watch them on the run. I was just wondering if there was a program to do this that isnt to hard to use (me=noob).
I keep my iTunes Media folder on my external drive, but I found that recently iTunes has put several of the albums I've ripped on my local drive (/Users/<me>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music, I assume that's the default location). Not sure why, though I know there was a time when my drive was inaccessible for some reason, so perhaps I ripped them then. Anyway, point is I want to move them to the external drive where the rest of my music lives. I tried just "moving" them in Finder, and I say "moving" because Finder doesn't really let me move but rather copies to the external drive. Which I think is part of the problem, since I then moved the local versions to the trash bin, from which they still played on iTunes. I guess iTunes (or MacOS in general) tracks where files move. Once I emptied the trash, though, iTunes claims it can't find them. Even though shiny new copies are right there in my iTunes media folder on the external drive.
Some download links on the internet are re-direct links ie you can't right click to save link as (such as on the apple site for itunes 10.1) for some reason on both safari and firefox with these links it just loads the page and no download dialog box opens, i've disabled pop up blockers on both but it still seems not to work, what am i doing wrong? I know i could use software updates but i want to re-install the programs so that won't work
I can't seem to find the right preference order to make it so when I click on a link that should open a new tab, it instead keeps opening up a new window. I have the first and third option checked in the tabs preference but it doesn't seem to matter. I might be delirious from playing with leopard all day/night, but I just want to figure this one last option out before bed. I Would like to open links in new tab WITHOUT having to hold down the command key.
so on igoogle.com i click on a link, it opens in a new window, this is really annoying, i scoured the prefrences but i cant find a option to change it. FF opens links in a new tab, so can safari open links in a new tab?
I noticed that some people have have links just below the address bar from sites they previously visited. They just click and a new page appears. How do I set this up?
I'm looking for an Mac app that can be used to store and index/tag small electronic documents (like invoices,...), hyperlinks, text,....Basically it should be able to store non-relational information that can than be tagged and searched for easy retrieval later.
Some semi-Flash-based links do not work in Safari(I'm using 5.0.3) causing me to switch to...pretty much any other browser like Chrome when needed. For example, when playing Whirled by Three Rings, when trying to navigate the non-Flash menus, equipping/"Wearing" avatars or pets and furniture and stuff do not work.
Pages just crashed on me and I lost 5 really important links which took hours to find. Why would they not put an auto save in? How hard can it be? Did they say something like our software doesn't crash so no auto save? I've found this thread http://www.macworld.com/forums/ubbth...08&Main=487629 But I really cant work out how to get this to work in automator, can someone help me at all, I put it in script editor and it does nothing for me when I run it.
I'm using the Safari Beta but cannot locate a way to make links appear in a new tab rather than a new window. In the prefs it has the ability to place links from other Apps into a new tab, but it appears the only way to do that within Safari is by CMD + click. Is there anyway to make anything clicked open in a new tab instead?
Since I upgraded to SL and Safari 4, when I click on a download link a new window opens up with nothing in it and the download does start. I have to right click and hit Download file.
I have been searching everywhere for an answer on this one - and if the answer is a simple NO! Then how does one go about doing this, many bought DVDs are able to take the viewer to a website is there a way for the consumer to achieve the same effect? It would be particularly handy to get the email link to work (In much the same way that it does using a PDF document).
About three days ago I started having a strange latency problem with my internet connection. When I click on a link, it takes a long time to load and sometimes doesn't load at all. If I click on the "stop" button and then "reload", it loads very quickly. This doesn't happen every time I click a link, or with every link I click, but it's happening often enough that it's seriously slowing down my browsing. I'm on a Mac Pro connected via ethernet to a Comcast high speed cable connection. The cable modem is also connected to a D-Link router with a wireless network, which we use for the three other computers in the house. Here's the strange thing: the other three computers aren't having the same latency problem. It's just my Mac Pro connected directly to the network that's having the problem.
I have a document with lot of text inside it. There are also several links. I want to be able to open all links of the document to safari tabs. The only way I have to do it 'till now is to manually copy paste each link from word pages to safari tabs. Is there any way to automate this repetitive task? Either by selecting all links of word and somehow opening them, or using osx automator? I 've not used automator before, I do not know if this task can be automated. Can you please help me to make the whole task faster and simpler?
Using mail is great. My default web browser is Firefox. But when I click links in my mail they open in safari. Is there a way to make it open in a new firefox window or tab if firefox is already running?
I am using iWeb '08 version 2.0.4 and I am creating a huge FAQ page on my site [URL]. I was hoping to be able to link to different spots on the same page? (i.e. like a "Back to Top" so people aren't scrolling
I am trying to complete a site on iweb and I have one issue that I cant seem to figure out. I have different links on the side of the page and I would like those links to open in a new window when clicked on instead of the same window.
