I'm looking for a good headset that will serve me well for music, gaming, and VoIP, and I'm hoping y'all will have some good advice for me. I've been through two headsets so far without luck and done a fair bit of research already. I've come up with the following requirements. We'll see what you can come up with. Must be USB. I don't want to mess around with adapters and crap.Must have an around-the-ear (circumaural) design. I have a big head, sensitive ears, and I wear glasses. Over the years I've learned to just stay away from any design that touches my ears at all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI actually have the Apple Mighty Mouse, and while I kinda love it for normal use, the scroll ball is terrible for gaming (way too sensitive and easily stucks when dirty!). I mostly play Blizzard Games (Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo), no fps, no sport games. Only bluetooth suggestions please. Bonus: good look and not too small
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a good headset (USB highly preferred) that will be used primarily for gaming and recording audio for youtube videos. From what research I've done it seems like the Logitech G35 is perfect but it doens't look like it is mac compatible The others on my short list are the Razer Megalodon, but I've heard a lot of complaints about the mic portion of and a persistent "hissing." It seems mac compatible, and I've heard good things about it across the board, but when I checked the driver update on their site it seemed only to be for windows, so that had me confused / apprehensive about buying it.

I'm stuck with World of Warcraft.I don't think that the 15" MBP worths its price.Do you think that the 13" will be able to do this? I'm in doubt of the gaming, I don't want extreme performances, just something playable, and of course it will be better of what I'm using now.

Will the higher resolustion have any effect on the performance? Will have to turn down the settings, or will the Macbook play games just fine with higher settings and the high resolustion
View 7 Replies View RelatedWith some advice from this forum I've now setup vista on a bootcamp partition and have pointed parallels at this installation which all works well. When I boot into vista I have the proper Radeon driver installed and can play games fine on max settings at the highest resolution, however if I try to run a windows game from Parallels in OSX it defaults to the Parallels video driver and 640x480 resolution. Is there any way of running games at full screen/full settings from osx or will I have to reboot into windows each time?

I am looking too use Photoshop CS4 and was wondering if it is worth the upgrade to NVIDIA GeForce 9400M + 9600M GT with 256MB or should I just stick with the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M.I am not able too spend any more than the 1999.00 price point so these are my only two options. I need the portability of a laptop otherwise I would go with the iMac. I am sorry if this has been asked before,
View 4 Replies View Relatedwhen I get my new MBP (when they release them *sigh*), I intend on doing some moderate gaming on it. Things like MW2, Starcraft, Sims 3, Battlefield BC2, and some others I can't think of right now.
My question is, if a game is available for both OSX and Windows, would it be better to get it for OSX, or Windows? I was wondering if I should have like all my games in the windows partition, or have ones that I can get for OSX separate.
I was planning on installing Win7 on it and using Parallels for the times I have no Mac option (specific games or apps).
Should I install it as a boot camp partition and then link it in Parallels or just do a clean VM install in Parallels? I'm curious as to what the experiences are and what is my best course of action when my machine shows up.
For years I'm trying to find a keyboard shortcut for 'strikethrough' or 'struck through' or however you want to call text with a horizontal line through it in OS X Mail. You'd think it is a popular feature since the strikethrough style has been on text editors since the earliest days of the Mac, well at least for decades I can remember and on the other hand it's easy to implement in HTML email since there's a HTML tag for it, <s>triketrough, just like there is for <b>old and <i>talic.
I did manage to add a shortcut for strikethrough by adding a style to 'favorite styles' via the 'system wide' styles menu. (You can do this by making a text selection strikethrough and then add this style to the styles menu via, for example, using the right mouse button or CTRL-clicking on a text selection and choosing Fonts, submenu Styles. I named it Struck though (or maybe it was already there, I'm not sure).
Then I added a shortcut for it in System Preferences / Keyboard / Shortcuts (Select Applications in the bottem of the left colomn, click the + sign below the second column, choose 'All applications' else it won't work in Textedit for some reason, name it EXACTLY after your menu item, for example in my case Struck through — and choose a keyboard shortcut that is not already in use. Watch out: somehow it doesn't warn you any more for used shortcuts. If I recall correctly it did warm me in older versions of OS X.) This shortcut is working in Textedit but still not in Mail. I really hoped this new version of Mail 5.2 would finally have a fix for this. Is there really no way to use a shortcut for strikethrough in Mail?

I am going to college this year to study Graphic Design and i am looking to purchase a MBP 15". I have read a couple of other threads which cover similar questions however i am not truly satisfied with the answers i have read.
My MBP will have to run the following programs on a regular basis: Photoshop, Bridge, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash. It will also have to run basic tasks such as word processing, internet surfing and email. Finally i would also like to install parallels and XP on the machine just in case an work or applications need to be run on windows. Obviously all of these applications will not be running simultaneously however there is a strong chance 2 or 3 maybe running at the same time. My Imac deals with this without problems, will the MBP be the same?
Power just went out and now our iMac ('11) wont restart. When I power on, the start up sound plays and then a white screen with the apple and an spinning circle underneath. After 10 mins, I shut it down and tried again.

Is there a loop counter built into Automator?
I've got a 500 cycle loop built into an Automator workflow and I'd like to be able to monitor in real time the number of times that loop has run. Is there an Automator Action which will incrementally display the number of times a loop has run?
Also, is there a loop limit in Automator...i.e., max number of times a loop can be set to run? Five hundred works OK but how about a thousand, or two thousand or more over several days?

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I would like to know what software is better for gaming on a Mac. I have Parallel Desktop 5 but I noticed while playing the Orangebox I was getting some framerate issues.I heard a lot of good things about Crossover games and I was wondering if that would be better? or would bootcamp be just fine? Also my Macbook pro is the 2010 15'' 2.4ghz.

I was wondering if it is possible to run a few old pc games in virtualbox. Old games, such as, Star Trek: Armada 2, Bridge Commander, and Elite Force. Would I be able to get the performance needed from this (I think the newest game is from 2003, maybe) or do i need to go boot camp?

Ok, a few months ago, I posted a problem concerning songs from my ipod that, when played in my car through the car's integrated cable, would suddenly stop playing, even though the song's title and counter were still showing on the dashboard screen. This happened with a 3 year old ipod. After taking the car into the dealer, they found no problem. Subsequently, when driving a loaner or rental, the same thing would happen when the ipod was hooked up with a Belkin cable. So, I bought a new ipod. Guess what? It still happened, AND in other cars. So then I bought a new car (not for this reason; it was just time!), and it still happened, BUT...now it's doing it when I have my iphone bluetoothed!! The songs playing are coming from my iphone, which is connected to the car through bluetooth. So, my thoughts are leaning toward something wrong with my songs, in itunes. This happens inconsistently, and not necessarily with the same songs.
I've already spoken to 2 different people at Apple, spending hours on the phone.
