I'm going to be working with some people where i need people in the same room to be able to see what i'm doing on my laptop. is there a device, program, application, cord that i can use to connect 2 laptops so that people can see my screen on another laptop? essentially, using the second laptop as a monitor?

My iTunes account contact preferences don't permit Apple to send me any junk. How is it that Apple is allowing unknown third-parties to spam me? (And, more importantly, how do I get it to stop?)

Basically, I'm planning to upgrade to a 30" monitor eventually. I currently have a Samsung 226BW and I use the MiniDisplayPort -> DVI adapter.
I was wondering whether if I purchase the MiniDisplayPort --> Dual-Link DVI adapter ($99), can I still use it to connect to my 22" Samsung? I'm thinking of giving my cousin my current Mini-DisplayPort -> DVI adapter, buying the Dual link adapter and then eventually swapping out the 22" for a 30".

It seems that most people who bought OCZ ram have had no issues what so ever. I am located in Canada so a store like CanadaComputers is great for me because I can go pick it up instead of having it delivered and pay shipping costs (as opposed to Newegg.ca). On their website, they have two modules with similar specs expect one is found in the Apple ram section and the other is in the regular ram.

When comparing the specs, the only difference I can see is that the CL on the Apple ram is 7-7-7-20. The CL on the regular ram is CL 8-8-8-27.
The price difference between the two is $57! OCZ's website confirms that one is made specifically for Apple Notebooks and the other is just regular.
Can anyone explain what CL is and whether it is something that needs to be taken into consideration.

I've searched for an hour but couldn't find anything but opening by dragging onto the tab bar. I've used a plug-in for firefox for years to open a link in a new tab by dragging the said link to anywhere on the page. Anything like it for Safari?

If there is a way to link my yahoo mail acc to my MAC OS mail, so that I can use the mail fuction. I use to be able to sync but after reformatting my com I am unable to do so. While trying to connect, an mes pop out said, you got to pay a fee to yahoo to get pop3 service.

This is my 2nd time reinstalling my mac in a few days and the 1st time I did I googled it and found a link to download it. Now when I search google it's not there anymore and I don't know what my exact keywords that I used to find the links were. I have iWork 09 as well but I need '08 to convert my keynotes to be compatible with the '05 version (school uses that.). It's quite stupid that Keynote 09 can only save to be compatible with 08 but not 06 or 05.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to decouple iCal from the computer's clock? I find the fact that if I reset the computer's clock it 'adjusts' everything in the calendar infuriating. When I try to look back at appointments from when I lived overseas a few years ago they are completely out of whack because iCal has 'fixed' all of the times by changing them to what they would have been in ET - in some cases moving them to a different day or making it look like I was attending meetings in the middle of the night.
This problem also exists going forward. I.e. if I fill in appointments before a trip, but then change the clock while I'm on the road so that, while working, I have the correct local time on my screen, iCal 'adjusts' everything in the calendar. This is not helpful.
Yes, I know I can designate a time zone for each appointment as I create it. But, again, that just makes the appointments all look strange on my calendar before I travel. In any case, it is an extra step in creating appointments which I should not have to take.
In short: I want my appointments to show in the calendar with the time I designated and for that not to change regardless of what I do to the computer's clock.
so I am using Dropbox to keep a backup of my Documents and Pictures folder. I read several tutorials about creating symlinks and I downloaded SymbolicLinker 2.0v2.
The one problem I have is that Finder keeps telling me it's an Alias. How do I know that it's a real symlink and not just an alias?
Whoever reads this, do me a favor, please. Find a web page with a link that produces a tooltip when you hover over it. Click that link. Wait for the resulting page to load, then hit the "back" button. Move your pointer off of the link you originally clicked, and just wait a moment. Does a tooltip for that link you clicked appear, just as though you were still hovering over it? It does for me. It has in every single version of Safari I've ever used, from version whateverthehellhaveyou in Jaguar, to Safari 3 in Tiger, Safari 4 in Leopard and Snow Leopard, to Safari 5 in Snow Leopard on not one, not two, but 4 different Macintoshes: a G3 iBook, a white non-unibody Macbook, another white non-unibody Macbook, and an aluminum unibody MacBook.
Just wondering if this happens to everyone, or if this is something special between Safari and me.

Suddenly today, when I click on a link in an email, the browser navigation to that URL no longer works.When I click on the link, the browser comes to the foreground, but the URL is not passed into the browser and whatever was previously in the browser remains, rather than navigating to the linked page.I remember having this issue year ago in the Windows world.
