View 2 RepliesIs there a filter or plug in for FCE 3.5 of 4.0 that will do a on screen countdown like if you are filming the space shuttle getting ready to take off, and you want to display numbers like min : Secs counting down to zero on the film it self? Is there one out there that anyone knows of?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm creating several movies that will play before a church service begins. Usually we just buy countdown videos, but this time I thought I'd get creative and make some. There is always a countdown timer that starts at 5:00 and counts down to 0. This way people know when the service is going to start, from 5 minutes out. I have been searching and searching and cannot find any way to overlay a countdown timer in iMovie HD or iMovie '08 (I have both).
Can someone suggest something? I don't want just a countdown movie, it has to be only in the corner or something. I want to use some footage of driving to church, make it fast forward so it finishes in exactly 5 minutes, and have a countdown timer display overtop of that in a corner. I've tried using the Slick 5 Gallery for iMovie, but they just have countdown movies, not overlay. Also, the Labels & Overlays from stupendous software has a timer, but it only counts up.
I'm looking for something to help me prepare for the LSAT. Ideally I would like it to countdown from 35 minute minutes with a warning at the 5 minute mark -- something that will do multiple timers at once would work, but having a built in "warn" function would be great.

I'm looking for a program where I can enter a date and time and it will calculate the amount of time until that date and display a countdown until that date and time. Does such a program exist? I've googled with not much success.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am looking for an iMac application, which is a timer of all sorts, in that I need something that can open and close applications at particular times.
I have skype going, I pay for both a skype in and out number, and I want it to go to voicemail even if I am online.
Right now, it just rings and rings and never goes to voicemail unless I decline the call or shut down the application. Which means if I am not there to answer, it just rings and never goes to voicemail.
On the skype website, it says to go to "Tools > options > calls > voicemail" to set the number of seconds before it goes to voicemail.... but that option doesn't exist in the OS X skype client!
I'm still new to Macs, how can I just have it shutdown immediately instead of waiting 60 seconds or clicking shutdown again?

So how can I insert a timer into an applescript dialog?
I've tried finding Xcode examples of this, but no luck.
I'm trying to play a new track on a playlist every 30 seconds. Thought I'd play around with AppleScript. Here's what I've got: on run {input, parameters} (* Your script goes here *) tell application "iTunes" play track 1 of playlist "Night" end tell repeat 10 times delay 30 tell application "iTunes" next track end tell end repeat return inputend run This sort of works, but not until the 4th track on the playlist. It seems to play the first three for a few seconds, but passes over them very quickly (not 30 seconds).
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to figure out how to make a movie or series of screen captures that are timed less frequently than QuickTime Player's Screen Recorder Feature. Basically, I want a screen capture every second or two, so I can go back and see what I did during the day. The Screen Recorder would fill up my hard disc very quickly. When I click on the menu item that is the name of the current application, go down to Services and then click on Service Preferences, I see something called Capture Screen using Timer: I can't figure out how to use it. I created a keyboard shortcut, as you can see, but when I try to use it, nothing happens. Is there any documentation for this service anywhere?

When I try to start my new iMac, the apple symbol appears with the timer and doesn't do anything else. Been through the manual trying all suggestions in there, new with apple macs - 2 weeks old and a start-up problem? Not impressed!!

saw a song "La Rana Brincona" sung by The Countdown Kids for sale in iTunes. This song belongs to Cántaro. It is blatant piracy and illegal, how can iTunes promote/allow that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was tooling around in CandyBar earlier today and after trying to restore my dock icons to defaults, my dock never returned after the Dock restart "killall Dock". After I restart the computer entirely to resolve the problem, I tried clicked on the Applications folder/section of my Finder only to get the spinning beach ball and the 'not responding' error from there out.
this happens after every restart. I've tried repairing the permissions and everything else to no avail. I don't have my Leopard install discs here with me (out of town for a couple days) so if there is a fix without 'archive and install' that's preferred.
i managed to get the dock back by deleting the .plist for it and tried the same for finder, didn't work.
I had all my files removed from my folders on my desktop and I could not find my applications in finder. I have now downloaded todays OS X 10.7.2and they have returned. I Clicked the lock in security (prefrences) to check my firewall and the window that you type your password in is written partly in arabic have I been compromised?

I read a post recently? about a program which enabled you to open two finder windows simultaneously, one above the other. Does anybody know the name of this program or can they recommend similar.

Smart-folders with 'file kind' parameters also remain empty. How do I fix this?I have tried to find an answer using the MR "search forums" function, but can't figure out how to correctly enter the query to give specific results, (for example, it just returns lots of threads with "results" rather than "no results".
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy iTunes library has decided to be obnoxious and while listening through a bunch of tracks, one song kept jumping like it was corrupt - as if half a second was removed and then spliced back together.
So, being a good little boy I accessed Time Machine, went back a few months, found the file in Time Machine and it wasn't corrupt. Then, just to satisfy my own curiosity, I went out of Time Machine and played the supposedly "corrupt" mp3 direct from Finder using QuickLook and it played fine.
you see what happens every time I restart my Macbook Pro. It's not a huge deal but it is pretty bothersome. Did anyone else have this problem and how do you fix it?

However, when I went into preferences and added the applications option to my side bar in finder, it pulled them all up just fine.applications are still able to be accessed by using launch pad as well as from a folder from the dock, the only way they are blank, is by accessing them through the sequence above.

I am running OS X 10.5. Suddenly today, everything on the screen magnified by about 10 or 15%. When I move the mouse, everything on the screen shifts as the mouse moves, so that I can end up seeing everything on the screen as if through a window. If I move the mouse down, the menu bar at the top of the screen disappears. With difficulty, I can still use the computer but obviously this is an unusable configuration. I have no idea what caused this and I don't have any idea how to fix it. After trying a number of things, I did a Clean Install (Archive and Install) of the OS but this did not help. The phenomenon occurs whether I am in an application or in Finder. Help!
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I've been re-importing my CD collection (now using AIFF) after iTunes deleted most of my tracks.
Once I have imported a CD, I then open the album information tab and locate the artwork. I then go to my iTunes music folder in Finder, but the artwork is not showing in the thumbnail tracks for the albums I have re-imported; the artwork shows in iTunes, but not Finder.
Any idea why and what I can do to solve this?
