I used to use newsleecher on my pc for collecting images from newsgroups. I'm looking for something similar for my Mac, which allows me to browse newsgroups and select which images (if possible with thumbnails) to download. Any utility like that on Mac?

I've noticed that finder, automatically saves unnecessary spam images and mixes them in with my important images, is there someway of either adding a spam label, to them, so they end up in another folder, or completely stopping the saving process entirely?
View 7 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive a jpg (not a jpeg) from a mac via email it wont open in either outlook or picture viewer etc (win xp). But if the same image is sent to any other PC (from the ma user) it opens OK.The added twist. If another pc user opens (which it does with no issues) then closes and sends back to the failing pc it opens with no issues!
I am quite new to FCE, and i have managed to import a jpg image that i want to use along with some text in a bar at the bottom of some footage - i have superimposed it but can anyone tell me how to actually move the image about? so it is in line with the text?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble adding images in iPhoto. I want to create a book. An "event" was created when I downloaded the images from the camera but there are other images I want to add. When I drag and drop the images I want to add to the event ( from a folder on my desktop where I put them) it creates a new event, it does not add the images to the event I want them in. So I created a event with the new images I want to add and merged the two events but the new photos do not show in the bar across the top where the images are for me to add to the book.
What am I doing wrong, how do I add images to a event?
I'm trying to friend out with playing DVD images (.cdr, .dmg, etc) on his Mac using a video player (he currently uses VLC). So far he has just been opening the image and playing the .VOB files, which can be frustrating because you don't have access to menus, have to open each .VOB file manually, etc. He also does training on his Mac so it kind of looks unprofessional. Being a Windows person , I am accustomed to using DVD Shrink to create an ISO, MagicDisc or Daemon Tools to mount the ISO file as a drive letter in Windows, and then using Media Player, etc. to play the DVD as if it was on a disc.

I had it originally set to copy my files to the iPhoto library, but I want them to stay in my original file structure. I disabled that feature, but I'm not sure if my files are already stored in the iPhoto library. How can I check? If they are stored there and I delete them, what will happen to my keywords, faces, places, etc? I guess this brings me to my next question. I edited a few photos using iPhoto, and I noticed that the changes did not reflect on the actual image file. Are these changes being stored some where else? How can I make it overwrite my images?

View 8 Replies View RelatedIn System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Application Shortcuts (Mail.app) I have set up ⌘+Enter to send mail. It works great...until I use certain Mail commands. For example, if I use Shift+⌘+H to view the full headers of a message, the next time I try to use ⌘+Enter to send a mail it doesn't work. I have to quit Mail and then when I restart ⌘+Enter works again. Same thing happens if I use Shift+⌘+B to bounce a message. I can duplicate this every time so it's not an intermittent bug. It's a minor annoyance, but I wonder if anyone else can confirm it happens to rule out that it's something specific to my Mac. I'm on OS X 10.6.4.

I have Dragoman, which converts PNG files to PDFs, although it keeps it as one page. I would like it to automatically split the long image into several pages. Is there any way of doing this short of editing the image and exporting each page length section separately? If there isn't a Mac program, is there a Windows program that can do it? I have Parallels too, but either way I would like to know.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a folder of .PNG files, which i rendered from 3DS Max, and am now looking for a way to make them into a video, i did this once using adobe premiere elements while in college once, but i dont have that software anymore.
I tried dragging all the files into iMovie, but when i click play each frame zooms in, then out, and each image stays on for about 4 seconds each D:
Whenever i scroll though my iPhoto library, many of the images will disappear. The thumbnails are there at first, but will disappear and be replaced with a "!" icon.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been given a PDF file from someone's iPhoto library/slideshow images (by doing a Print-PDF-Save as PDF).
The PDF file looks fine, but several of the images are rotated the wrong way. When the slideshow was presented the images were all in their correct positions, but the PDF file only shows the landscape ones right.
I've tried using the "rotate" tool in Preview, but that rotates all images, which is of course not what I want.
I was hoping Adobe Acrobat pro 9, which I also have, would allow me to rotate images individually, then resave the PDF file but I can't quite figure out how, or if it's possible at all.
I have been having a problem with some websites, various ones. The page starts loading and I see the images load but once the page is done loading all of the images disappear and I get the little broken link icons in their place. I have no problem seeing those sites using Safari. Other sites are not a problem.
I have not done anything to tweak the pipelining and I have made sure that the box is checked to load images automatically with no exceptions. Java is also checked.

Anyway, in safari when you want to save a picture you right click and can "Add Image to iPhoto Library"
There is no such option in firefox and I can't seem to find anything similar to that.

I'm trying to send off images to a friend and I don't want them to be resized...but Mail keeps shrinking them. I've been through the Preferences panel and poked through the Help files, but haven't found anything on this. View 8 Replies View Relatedi give lectures at a local university and wonder if you could suggest a few programs as a repository/organizer for a bunch of images (most will come off the web). I realize that Iphoto can do some of this, however, its tendency to group images by date is not terribly useful to me. What I'd prefer is something like Papers that would let me preview and tag the images.
I wish I could be more specific; however, my imagination is hampered by my lack of familiarity with what software is out there.
Also, if you have any suggestions for organizing materials for presentations--I give 8-10 different 1-hour presentations per week-
I'm having an issue when I come to upload images to my wordpress blog using an application called blogo (mac program), I'm getting the following error message:

When uploading Picture_031.jpg.

I've tried turning off mod-write security in the .htaccess and have chmoded all the upload folders to 777. The wordpress install is brand new and there are no plugins installed at all. It is the latest version of wordpress 2.7. Its weird because I can see that the images are infact being uploaded to the folder but something doesn't seem to be working.
I have the worst internet speeds on the planet(Stationed in Iraq) and I found that hiding images in FireFox allows me to browse faster. But every one in a while I wanna see the images and i can't seem to find a way to flip back and fourth quickly. Is there a browser or a hot key i can bind? I know Firefox has an "exceptions" website list but that does no good because it only lets me see the images on that one address, not for an entire domain.
