Applications :: Uploading Images To Blog - Getting Error 500
Jan 20, 2009
I'm having an issue when I come to upload images to my wordpress blog using an application called blogo (mac program), I'm getting the following error message:
An unknown error occurred
When uploading Picture_031.jpg.
Please check your server's configuration or contact the site's administrator for more assistance.
Error 500
I've tried turning off mod-write security in the .htaccess and have chmoded all the upload folders to 777. The wordpress install is brand new and there are no plugins installed at all. It is the latest version of wordpress 2.7. Its weird because I can see that the images are infact being uploaded to the folder but something doesn't seem to be working.
I am an artist and I photograph my own work for uploading images to my website and/or sending them to galleries and prospective buyers, which means I need to be able to adjust the size and resolution easily and store several versions of the same image. Iphoto just isn't cutting it. I used an old version of photoshop elements on my old PC which did the trick, but now that I've switched to a Mac I'd like to purchase/download some newer and cheaper or free(!) software. I am tech impaired so it has to be very user friendly. It must allow me to adjust the size and res easily. The only forum I've seen so far regarding this dates back to 08, so I figure there's got to be something even better out there now that I can use.
Facebook says in its instructions for photo uploads that it doesn't support images altered by 3rd party SW, only original photos straight from the camera. We know this is BS; there's lots of photoshopped stuff in people's photo albums and personal thumbnails. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what it is that causes some stuff to be rejected. I can't seem to find any rhyme or reasons. I'm using Photoshop CS, ver 8.
I bought my Mac back in August this year so I am still fairly new to the computer. About 2 1/2 to 3 weeks ago I plugged my camera in the import some photos (my wife has done this before with her camera and we have never had any problems like this before). So I plugged in my camera and it started to upload the pictures, well my camera decides to die. When it did that, a message came up on the screen saying that the device was improperly disconnected. So I plugged my camera into an outlet and plugged it back into the computer to upload the rest of the photos.
Well ever since then, it has been stuck on the same picture it was uploading when my camera died and turned off. Now I cannot restart my computer, turn off my computer properly or even update my computer and restart it. I have tried plugging my camera back in several times to see if it would kicked it back up to load the photos but it is saying iphoto is still uploading my photos from the first time when it the camera died on me. Ive tried pressing the stop importing button and then the screen comes up and says "continue importing/delete photos/keep photos" and ive tried ALL three options and it still is stuck on the same screen.
I have a macbook pro 17" 2011 model and since upgrading to Yosemite I am now unable to load images to websites such as ebay. This is just one of the sites having the problem but other sites as well where you are required to click the "load image" button. It gives you the navigation to the folder where the images are and you can see them but they are unclickable. All images are jpeg images with .jpg extension. I've included the series needed to get to the folder and you will see in the last image, none of the items are selectable, even the .jpg files.
Whats the secret to getting this option back so I can upload images to websites?
I'd love to use the integration of Youtube into IMovie '08. But when I finished a movie, filled in all the required data like username and password under "Share", "Youtube", after rendering and trying to uploade the movie for a while. IMovie displays a "Communication Error" and asks me to try again. But of course we know how computers work: Not changing anything and simply following this advice simply leads to the same error again. I'm on a MBP with a LAN connection to the internet. My upstream speed is 1 megabit/s. Uploading movies manually to Youtube using the web interface works flawless and fast.
I keep receiving this error when uploading a video on my website. At first I was trying to upload AVI files along aside actual photos on an album page and that didn't work so I deleted all of them. Now I'm trying to upload a .m4v file and still, nothing. I receive this error after a good long while of it trying to upload it. I have plenty of space on my file for the video and all of the other content for my page.
What is the best blog writing software for the Mac (besides TextEdit ). I am looking for something to the equivalent of Windows Live Writer on the Windows side.
It has been almost a week and I am still not able to publish. I have tried everything. I have deleted the files that iweb help said I should. I go and "publish all" but just before the Archives finish loading ... up pops the error that it can't publish & I should try again.
I have had a website running off of iWeb 08' for some time now with two blogs. Both I have enabled so people can leave comments. But All the sudden I am having problems and people get an error when they try to post a comment. This is what they get :We're sorry. We are having a problem processing your request.
I know this is probably really simple, but I cannot figure out how to add media to my blog posts.Say I drag in a photo or something, it doesn't actually show up on the actual post. And I don't know how to add an html snippet (such as a Youtube video) to my blog post?
I've been searching for an app that would let me open my WordPress blog on my mac, is their such an app? On the wordPress site their is a software download called WordPress 2.9.2. Who here uses this? What are my option?
I posted 2 items to my blog--the first one is in February 2010 and the next in august 2010. it has the august one first. I can't seem to get the feb one in front.
Both Google results and Safari warn that contains malicious software. Does the warning dialog appear for you too?
Google Safe Browsing Diagnostics reveals this: http://www.google.com/safebrowsing/d...erss.com/blog/ which leads me to believe that third-party advertisers may be responsible for this. The developer David Watanabe is very well respected which is why this warning came as surprise.
Curiosity got the better of me and I browsed at my own risk, now I am extremely paranoid. Here's hoping it's one of those 'Windows things'.
I've tried to upload a Keynote presentation to iCloud by dragging it from my Mac and dropping it into Keynote on iCloud. It begins to upload but within 10 seconds I get an error message: There was a problem uploading a presentation Try again later?
I was transferring images from my Transend 32 GB memory card when halfway through something happened and only half the images copied properly. The other half are greyed out, I cannot view the thumbnail and when I try to do anything with it it says "one or more of the items in "IMG_9203.CR2" can't be changed because they are in use. The memory card is empty now and I can't figure out how to get back my images!
When I upload videos to YouTube from iMovie, there's HD option, normal option, mobile option, but there was no choice in iPhone for what kind of video quality - does it automatically upload it in HD?
I have a video I want to upload to Youtube (made in iMovie 3.0.3). If I use Full Quality export on iMovie, the file is 1.34gb, which is out of the question. If I use the next best quality (CD rom), the video is 31mb, which looks okay on my computer, but it's frame rate was **** on Youtube. I'm not a video editor or anything, so iMovie's "Expert Export" options baffles me.
What should I do in the expert export to have file that's smaller than a gigabyte, but will upload good on Youtube?
ive had my macbookpro for about a year and a half at this point, and no real problems. i always upload photos from my canon digital SLR into iphoto, and today for some reason on one specific photo, the upload kept freezing. i rebooted, forced quit, etc. none of that worked. i deleted the photo and tried again- it only froze on the photo before the previous one. so i deleted the one after, thinking perhaps that was the problem. nope. so now im just short some pictures i actually liked and this thing is still freezing. ive read of options to upload to a folder then iphoto, but my camera does not show up as accessible hardware anywhere... so from what i can tell, i cant do that unless i go purchase card readers and the whole lot, but that seems ridiculous as this has worked for well over a year, and on my powerbook before this.
I'm new to Mac. When I try to upload pics to the net, I have a problem. On the site it has the little link that says "Choose file" or something like that. So I click it and try to click file location for the pic I want to use. The problem is my photos are in iPhoto and when I try to select file it stops at iPhoto. I cannot select a specific file within iPhoto. It stops at iPhoto and I cannot go any further.
s there any client available that uploads movies to YouTube.com? I did a google and most of youtube client are interface to watch movies and not upload movies.
I am recieving an error message when I try to copy new files (images, documents) to mac from flash drive/SD card. The message is saying "operation cannot be completed because an item already exists with that name." They are brand new therefore not the same name? I cannot even put them in a brand new folder..
Just a quick question for those that already use iPhoto 11. Does Apple now enable uploading higher res photos to Facebook? iPhoto 09 is stuck with less than VGA res photos when uploading to Facebook.
I uploaded 3 videos yesterday at noonish and they still don't even show up as processing. I logged in to YouTube and manually uploaded the videos and it worked. Is there anything I should be doing that I'm not?
For the record, I had a DVD, converted the vob files to one big .dv file with MPEG Streamclip, imported that into FCP, cut up the video into pieces and synced video audio to cd audio of the same source, did Export to Quicktime, imported them into iMovie, added titles, then uploaded to YouTube.
I have tried uploading directly from iMovie to YouTube using the preset and it looks absolutely horrendous. I have also tried exporting into NTSC quality and the "large" preset and they both still look terrible. The video I am using is imported DV from a Sony Handycam, it's not that great of camcorder but when I watched the videos on my TV it looked fine. What is the root of this problem and how can I fix it?
Just like many of you I purchased the Macheist Nanobundle and am looking to finally put the domain names i've been paying for over a year for to use. One will be a personal blog. The second I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to do with but I have figured it out.
What i'd like to do is be able to post up RSS news feed items from multiple different websites so that friends and family and read the best of. Basically i'll filter through everything (as I already do) and just forward on the best of items. Currently I have all of my RSS feeds through google reader, and currently read them on NetNewsWire on my mac. Is there a current application or website which will allow me to do this?
