I used aidum for a while and then changed to the msn for mac. Today I decided to use adium again, and when it opened a lot of pop up windows appeared saying
"is on the local list but not on the server list, would you like to add this buddie to the server list?"
I've been using Adium for the past month or so for IM, and as of the past couple of days, no matter what I do, I can not make the contact list visible. I've tried deactivating and reactivating it via the Window menu, I've tried changing the settings on when it's supposed to appear, and I've even tried reinstalling the application once, but nothing is working. Does anybody have an idea how to fix this, or should I just stick with iChat for now?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI added someone the other day, and now every time I log in it says "XXX@hotmail.com on the local list is inside the group "Friends" but not on the server list. Do you want this buddy to be added?" It doesn't say this on IM+ on my iPod Touch, and the contact doesn't show up until I click add. Is there any reason for this? Is there any way I can permanently add them or something?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a contact that is present in two separate accounts. However, the contact only shows up in ONE account. This makes me wonder if Adium combines the contact from two accounts. *note* both contacts are in groups in separate accounts. But the weird thing is, I have another contact thats present in both accounts, but he shows up as 2 contacts in adium.

I'm not exactly sure of where to post this... I'm having a problem with my computer (Address Book, I believe) syncing w/ Google contacts. I'm getting the following error messages:
The first image is the original error that comes up. If I click More Info, it brings me to a list of contacts. The "Before" info contains the correct fields for their email addresses (e.g., school, work, etc). However, Google wants to get rid of these fields.
Is there any way I can get Google to accept this fields? Also, can I have Google revert to my Mac's info instead of the other way around (my mac using Google's changes)
After I set up my new iMac and had everything running, my G4, G5 and MacBook all appeared in my server list.This week, for some reason (I can't understand) they don't show.I even went to Favorite (recent) listing and tried that way, but nothing connected.I can see my iMac from my G5 and my MacBook, but the connection timesout.

David was just some random name I picked when I made my email and I don't want my username to be it. However, it seems as though I am constantly having to switch my name to Trinimini whenever I log in, even though my preferences says that my display name is Trinimini. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

In particular I noticed that the list for the SoftwareUpdateService is really trippy, as you get all kinds of funky results when sorting the list for release date or name. You click the GarageBand Update for example, and get the description for an iMovie-Update I found nothing about it at Apple's place, but do not know where/how to file a bug either.
