I've had my apple Id disabled due to security reasons. Do I have to create a new apple id? Will I lose all of my iTunes and data if I have to change my apple I'd to a new one since the app store will no longer recognize my apple Id?

When I booted up my computer this morning, I realized that the volume icon in the menu bar was missing. I tried to adjust the volume with the keyboard, but an icon came up that makes it seem like it's locked. I went into System Preferences and under Sound, the computer doesn't seem to find the speakers for output or the internal microphone and line-in for input. Has anyone else had this problem?

I was testing the pwpolicy on a newly upgraded Yosemite. After rebooting, I found my local admin account was disabled.
I ran the pwpolicy on a non-server version of Yosemite and the only support article I could find is OS X Server (Yosemite): Global policies can lock out Admin accounts - Apple Support. I tried to follow the steps in the article to clear the account policies for local admin, but once I entered "/usr/bin/pwpolicy -n /Local/Default clearaccountpolicies", the system seemed hanging there and the local admin account was still disable.
Actually once I used launchctl to load the com.apple.opendirectoryd.plist, the system started to show signs not working properly, such as some basic commands like ps, dscl, man, nano, or even ls stopping to bring up any results. However, "launchctl list" showed the daemon was launched with a number of 78.
I tried to create new admin user account by rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone, but the new admin account was disabled possibly immediately after birth because of the global policy settings.
I think I need it to play Yahoo games. I went to Safari Preferences and checked Enable Java. (Enable JavaScript was already checked.) But when I click on a Yahoo game, the page loads, yet the game doesn’t appear. I thought I could just enable Java when I wanted to play, then disable it when I wasn't. Obviously this isn’t urgent, but if there’s an easy and safe way to play, I’d like to know.

i just recently got a keyboard i had back and plugged it in with a mouse i typically use all the time. when the keyboard was plugged in i got the typical message for "USB device drawing too much power, has been disabled…" i just want to re enable the mouse. it was quite obvious it was the combination of BOTH devices that caused this, but i'd really like to just get the mouse working again. I've Tried Resetting the SMC and ran the diagnostic but nothing has worked.

Apple co-founder Steve Jobs made an appearance Saturday for the iPad launch, talking with customers and even giving a hands-on demo of the device at his company's Palo Alto, Calif., store. As first reported by Cult of Mac, Twitter user Cedric Lignier spotted Jobs at the store wearing blue jeans, sneakers, and a hoodie sweater over his trademark mock turtleneck. Jobs reportedly showed a little girl how to use the iPad, and Lignier said he believed the girl might have been Jobs' daughter. According to the San Jose Mercury News, Jobs arrived at the University Avenue store shortly before noon, causing a great deal of interest among the patrons there.
"Many in the crowd pulled out cameras and iPhones to capture the most magic of Silicon Valley moments," the report said. "Jobs chatted with a handful of other shoppers, but even his 30-minute invasion did not get in the way of their serious business the buying of and playing with new iPads." Jobs has been seen at that location before, which is just 20 minutes from Apple's campus at 1 Infinite Loop. When the iPhone first launched in 2007, Jobs appeared and spoke with programmers Andy Hertzfeld and Bill Atkinson.................
I'm using iTunes 10.5.3 (3) on Mac OS X 10.7.3 When I drag and drop music from my iTunes library onto the iPad the iPad will first start to 'sync' but I'll notice that it immediately starts to try and sync up all of my music (I have more music than I have space on my iPad so that would just fail eventually but it starts the slow wi-fi sync of all my music). I check the settings for the iPad (via iTunes) and I notice that the Music tab's "sync" option has suddenly been enabled again (when I've previously turned it off).
This is very strange and annoying as all I want to do is copy music from iTunes onto my iPad. I can do this no problem with my iPhone (has the same sync settings turned off and that doesn't re-enable the sync setting when I drag and drop music from iTunes to it? The only difference from my iPad is that i have the apps tab 'sync' option turned on - see P.s below for more on that)
if I turn off syncing of apps for my iPad I get a message that tells me 22 apps will be deleted and that all data will be lost as well. I'm assuming because some apps I've paid for and some are free I'll be able to re-download them no problem, it's just that some apps have extra settings/configurations on them that I'd rather not lose and I just don't see how turning off the 'sync' option would affect them? Just leave them on the iPad device and stop trying to sync them with iTunes??

My Apple ID is in good standing (or else I wouldn't be posting in this community). But when I try to make a purchase in iTunes, it stops me saying that my Apple ID has been disabled..This has been going on all day, so it's not a matter of waiting for the system to update with my new email address (I wouldn't think).I've tried authorizing this computer for iTunes, and it is already authorized. What else should I try?

When I try to make a purchase in iTunes, I get a message saying my Apple ID is disabled.Resetting my password does not eliminate this error message.Changing the payment method associated with my Apple ID from "None" to a valid payment method does not eliminate this error message. This problem occurred because someone used my Apple ID to make unauthorized In-App purchases totaling $39.96 USD. Apple support refunded me the amount. But now my Apple ID is disabled. The message does not state the reason for it being disabled. The message does not state that the ID is disabled due to security reasons. It just says that it is disabled.

View 1 Replies View RelatedComing from a portable background, and having dropped a few thousand on a Mac Pro last week, I thought I'd be able to skimp on buying a mic for Skype by using the new mic feature on Apple earphones...not so!
Bit weird, that they work on the MacBook range which already have an included mic, but not the desktops, which don't!
Just an observation... would a software update cure it?
