I have problem accessing App Store on my iMac. I am running Mac OS X v. 10.6.8. and have installed all available software updates periodically. I have never been able to launch App Store on this computer and always get this error msg about App Store trying to connect to iTunes. I can launch and access iTunes with out problem, but for some reason the App Store doesn't connect to iTunes.

I have a macbook air and i have been unable to access the app store since i have gotten the laptop which was 11 weeks ago. It says i am not connected to the internet but i am also because i am unable to connect to the app store i cant receive any updates.

On 6 th April my BT homehub2 updated it's firmware and that's when the problems started. Broadband went down completely and powerlineadapters adapters for bt vision fried. After 2 telephone support calls we eventually got the home hub reset and connected to broadband. Bt supplied two new powerlineadapters and bt vision is now working. Laptop, iPhones and iPad (and bt vision) all connect fine and work completely well.
My iMac running OS X 10.7.3, appears to work in that it connects no problem to home hub and when you run diagnostics it says your Internet connection appears to be working normally... However I cannot get a web page to load - I have tried chrome, Firefox and safari. The bizarre thing is using Outlook I can send and receive email, also my apple devices are still syncing via the iCloud - that would suggest that the iMac is indeed connecting wirelessly to the router and sending and receiving data - just no web pages at all - also it can't connect to things like iTunes store or apples app store... Everything was working fine until the firmware update!
Also may/may not be related but when I log in now I always have to manually connect to router, it always connects fine but it used to do it automatically, also recently upgraded to Lion and I have my doubts there too?

Have just upgraded my macbook to Lion. I logged into the app store, bought, downloaded and installed Lion no problem.
After upgrade I returned to the app store to download ibooks author. I can find ibooks author but when I try and install the app I have to sign in and I get a "connection failed" error message.
The same happens in iTunes when I try and view my account - "The network connection failed"
I can access the internet with no problems - including secure sites. I can access software update with no problems.
I have made no changes to my network settings - could sign in and download apps before upgrade, unable to after upgrade.

I just bought a $10 iTunes card and I want to by iMovie from the Mac App Store. (which brings my balance to $16.48) My problem is whenever I try to buy this product I'm sent to the billing page. I don't have a credit card so I select "none" and try to purchase iMovie again. But it just sends me back to the billing page. I have a batch of HD video downloads in my iTunes Store queue that I can't delete. Before it was annoying, having to purchase both the regular video and HD video, then delete the unwanted HD download from my queue list, but now it's a problem. I can't empty the unwanted HD downloads, and for me to download them all will tie up my connection for a week or more.

I recently switched from a PC to Mac. Previously my Limewire pro downloads would open directly in itunes. Now, my Limewire downloads only play in the Limewire file.
I have parallel for windows also on my mac. Limewire is installed on the windows XP os.

Yesterday I made a copy of my itunes folder to store on my HD. I have until now stored all iphoto, music, vids folders on external drives in case something went wrong with my imac. Lesson learnt it happened to me as my external drive crashed and I lost it all. To solve the prob, I want copies on both external and the imac HD.
Now when I open itunes...everythign has gone. Its as if I have a brand new itunes oporating.( I did have the most up to date version before this all happned) I have redirected the path(in preferences) to the new location and checked it both ways with the old and new copies but now none work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI used to have all my data on my MacBook and since I bought the Air I started transferring everything to it. Everything was fine until I tried to hook my iphone on the usb and sync it. The iphone drops the connection with the itunes and the whole syncing progress cancels. I've tried every possible advice I found in other forums but nothing worked. I uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, I tried installing earlier version of itunes, I restored my iphone (on my other mac), I manually deleted some itunes program files before reinstalling the new itunes....nothing nothing nothing. I keep getting error messages like:
"ITunes could not connect to the iphone because the pairing record is missing"
"Application AppleMobileDeviceHelper quit unexpectedly"
"ITunes could not connect to iphone because an invalid response was received from the device"
And every time i try to restore iphone from the air i get an error(6).....
While everything works great on the old Macbook, the Macbook Air seems to have problems connecting with the phone. The funny thing is that even if the connection between iphone and itunes drops, I can still manage to "see" the iphone from "iphoto" and import pics on my Air. I really don't know what's going on here and there seems to be no one that knows what I should do. Furthermore, when i plug my scanner on the air, it doesn't respond at all. It's as if the usb slot ain't powerful enough to connect with those devices. The scanner also works great on my old Macbook.
