May 26, 2012Ironically I erased my kids' favorite iTunes movie (Cars 2) while in the process of trying to back it up off of our Apple TV and laptop onto an external drive. Is there any way to recover it without having to purchase it again? Is it on the iCloud? Does Apple keep a record of our purchases and will the restore the file?

Jun 7, 2012I have installed Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and ran Software Update, and now I want to upgrade to Lion. I can open App Store, log in, access my account, but when I try to purchase Lion I get a message "We could not complete your request. There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (4)". When I click OK, I get the message "Unknown Error." I really don't want to have to reinstall everything By the way, I also created a new Apple ID with a different email just to see and I get the same error.

Apr 22, 2012The Mac App Store tells me there's an update available for one of my applications, however, the install button is disabled and indicates that the new version of the app is already installed. The version number of the app (About...) shows v120...., the update in the App Store shows v121, so there's something available, it seems. How can i either download the update, or get rid of the update indication in the App Store?Â

Jun 20, 2012I had to replace the hard drive in my MacBook Pro. I went to the App store with my clean install of Lion. However for a number of Apps I need it indicates that they are installed, though they aren't. I can't seem to figure out a way so it lets me redownload and install them on this computer. It's tremendously frustrating. The command click (right click) on the greyed out installed button does nothing. If you go to the app page you get the installed thing again. Â

Jun 3, 2012I've been told that if you buy a new Mac it will show iLife '11 as installed in the Mac App Store so that you can then install the iLife '11 apps on your other macs without having to re-purchase iLife '11 on each computer. I have a 2010 MacBook Pro and a 2011 MacBook Pro and I've signed into the Mac App Store using the same account on each computer but the iLife '11 app still shows as being purchaseable from both computers. Any advice on how to get this to show as installed so that I can install it on my 2010 MBP without re-purchasing it?Â

Dec 8, 2014Some weeks ago, I installed OS X Yosemite, as shown on my App Store, that was a "System Update available for my IMac 2009". Followed all the steps, normally and installed it as I did many other times ago (with the Maverick, Mountain Lion, OS X).Â
Just after the installation, I noticed that every single folder or program that depends on "Apple", stopped working.Â
Examples: Office package opens normally, so as Firefox. But, IPhoto, ITunes, Safari and App Store itself do not.
When trying to reinstall Yosemite or return to the one I had before, using App Store became impossible. Even the "Apple Icon" on the top left corner does not work. I click, it flashes, just IF it was ready to open, but nothing happens, seams that have something stopping the "loading process" of the software.

Windows On Mac :: New Drive Installed XP Installed Now No Drivers Or Internet?
Dec 5, 2010Installed a new 750GB drive into my MacBookPro 5.1 Couldn't get Winclone to make image so I was forced to start from scratch with a new XP installation.
My MBP is partitioned 25%Mac & 75%XP with bootcamp and I have the old drive in a enclosure connected with a firewire. So all of old files are on the external drive now.
After installing XP I have no internet connection, drivers etc... However if I boot up on the mac side everything works fine. (I cloned the mac os already with Carbon copy).
So can I just copy all my old drivers over to the new drive? If yes how and if no how do I get them installed on the new harddrive. The MBP came with everything preinstalled.

Jan 5, 2011The type of mac we use at our company is an iMac 7,1. There are tons of important files on it. During a routine email in mac mail it was taking a long time so I force quit mac mail. I waited a few moments and when I opened it back up mac mail was asking me to register like I had never used it before!I saved everything and restarted the computer and when the screen came up everything had gone! All my files are still here, thank god, but nothing's in the doc, the mail is asking to be registered, the printers are asking to be registered, and spotlight won't pull up any documents that I know are sitting right in front of me.
