Aperture :: Elements 12 Can't Open Files From 3.5.1 Version

Sep 8, 2014

I just upgraded to Elements 12 from 10 which was previously able to open anything from Aperture 3.5.1 via External Editor.

The directory appears to be okay, since it launches the the program successfully. But I'm just left with a black screen in Elements. I shoot RAW primarily, but jogs don't open either.

Opening files from the desktop works perfectly fine.

MacBook Pro :: Can't Open PDF Files - Finding Latest Version Of Adobe Reader

Oct 30, 2009

I just "upgraded" yesterday from a Power Mac G4 to a 17" MacPro. Among other adjustment problems, I can't open PDF files. The message I get is "You can't open the application Adobe Reader because it is not supported on this kind of Mac."

I've tried downloading the latest version of Adoobe Reader, an although it seems to download, I can't find it.

MacBook Pro :: Change Security Settings To Allow Pdf Files To Auto-open In New Version Of Adobe Reader?

Apr 23, 2012

I have just updated my Adobe Reader and now I can't download and open pdf files anymore.

I tried going through the preferences in Reader, but it says that the setting is tied in with 'security administration' settings on Mac OS X.

I have not actually changed anything in the settings so am assuming that this is something to do with the most recent update to either Adobe Reader or OS X security.

Aperture :: Old Version 3.1.2 Is Not Working After Mac OS X Update

Aug 26, 2014

I have an old version of Aperture (3.1.2) that no longer works on my mac following my update to OSX (10.9.4). I would like to update my Aperture version so that its compatible with OSX but am unable to do so. All the aperture downloads tell me I have to update through the App Store but the App Store does not recognize that I have a valid, if outdated, version of Aperture on my computer and wants me to buy the software again. Is there a way to update Aperture (for free) and keep my library of photos?

Aperture :: PhotoSweeper Doesn't Support Library Version 3.5.1

Jun 2, 2014

On trying to load my iPhoto library into PhotoSweeper through the media browser, I am receiving this error message:

"140418_iPhoto Library_full" could not be read because its version is not supported. PhotoSweeper supports iPhoto 7.x (iLife '08), 8.x(iLife '09) and 9.x (iLife '11), but your library is of version 3.5.1.

I ran Photosweeper without any issue less than a week ago but have since found/loaded some more duplicates so wanted to run it again. How can I overcome this error?

Hardware :: Western Digital 1TB Elements External Hdd - How To Rescue Files

Nov 10, 2009

I powered the drive on at the mains and it makes a normal 'spinning up' noise, before cutting out after 5-10 seconds. It is not recognised in OS X or disk utility (it doesn't show up at all).

Is there anything that can be done to rescue the files that were on it? Could it be a power unit inside the drive that is gone which could be replaced or is the whole thing dead?

I've tried all kind of solutions from the web but still no solution. Applications :: Managing IPhoto, Aperture, Etc. Files?

Dec 24, 2009

I seem to be accumulating a lot of "duplicate" photo files. Some are in iPhoto & some are in Aperture. I import the files from the camera with Nikon transfer. Then I import them into iPhoto. Then I may import them into Aperture. When I use Finder I see multiple file with the same name & either the same or different file extension. I'm going to stop using Nikon transfer, & directly import from the camera to iPhoto. Is there a way to sync photo files to eliminate duplicates or an easy way to organize files so I can delete duplicates?

Aperture :: Import Does Not See Files On Hard Drive

Dec 7, 2014

This happens again and again, and it's EXTREMELY irritating.

I am trying to import some existing JPEGs on my Desktop. When I try Import in Aperture, the file browser simply does not see most files and folders. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. It seems to happen on a whim. This is very bad, I have just about had it with Aperture. And yes, permissions are set correctly.

On what basis Aperture sees or does not see certain files/folders?
