Aperture :: Canon G7X Camera Raw Files Not Getting Recognized?
Dec 9, 2014
I use Aperture 3.5 extensively and have updated to, I think, 6.07 which is the latest update pack but the RAW files are still not recognised in Aperture. Am I doing something wrong or when aperture will be updated for this relatively new camera.
Info:
Aperture 3, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8), 27inch 7core iMac
I really do not want to with to Lightroom as I am very happy working in Aperture BUT it is not supporting my RAW files from my new camera. Just wondered if there was any tricks or if there is a update for RAW files coming very soon.
how do I transfer video files shot from my camera (Canon 5DMk2) which is in .MOV format into iTunes ? My photos and video files are first imported into Aperture then synced with iTunes. However, itunes does not capture the Video files but uploads the phtos from Aperture during sync.
Today I bought Canon EOS 450D. I use Apple Aperture that has support for Canon RAW -images. Or at least for Canon EOS 350D that I had before. Now the thumbnail is shown, but when I double click the image, Aperture tells that the format is not supported. where can I get RAW support for 450D images?
can anybody help me please? i want to take a picture from my canon camera and view it straight away to my mac, what cable and software do i need to buy to do this?
i would like to find a cable to go from my canon 60d camera to the firewire port. i have been to numerous places and they do not have it. i could not find it at canon as well.
I am trying to transfer my photo's from my Canon EOS 550D to my new 21.5" iMac but when I plug my camera into my computer, via USB chord, it just says "No camera found". I have installed the Mac compatible software onto my computer that came with my camera. This software included the following:Camera WindowCanon MOV DecoderCanon MOV EncoderDigital Photo ProfessionalEOS UtilityImage BrowserMovie Uploader for YouTubePhotoStitchPicture Style Editor
I am a Photography student and I am becoming very frustrated with the fact I can't do anything with my photo's as I bought the iMac soley for Photography and Music.

i bought a new alum. macbook about 3 weeks ago and so far i love it, but suddenly my isight camera isn't recognized in anything, and it doesn't light up? What could be wrong?
recently (the last week or so) my computer has stopped recognizing my digital camera. I have a G5 running in version 10.4.6 and a Fujifilm FinePix 460 camera. I had never had any problems before, usually I would plug in the camera and it would show up in iPhoto and on the desktop right away, but now no matter what I do, it won't connect. The camera says it is connected, but not the computer. I have tried switching around the plugs in the back, and also restarting, etc... but nothing's working...
I cannot get my camera to be recognized by my computer when I plug it in and the computer is normally booted.
* If plug the camera into my MacBook, Image Capture and iPhoto will not recognize it. * If I plug the SD card into my computer with a card reader, the card will be read just fine. * The camera works on two other MacBook Pros * The camera will be found on my MacBook if I boot into Safe Mode * The camera is found in System Profiler when the computer is normally booted, however, the information provided is limited. * The camera is found in System Profiler when the computer is Safe Booted, and the camera shows the full amount of information about the camera
When I open the system log and then plug the camera in, I receive the following:
Sep 6 11:46:14 JoAlDe kernel[0]: USBF: 958.769 AppleUSBEHCI0x27b8800::Found a transaction which hasn't moved in 5 seconds on bus 0xfd, timing out! (Addr: 3, EP: 0) Sep 6 11:46:19 JoAlDe kernel[0]: USBF: 963.770 AppleUSBEHCI0x27b8800::Found a transaction past the completion deadline on bus 0xfd, timing out! (Addr: 3, EP: 1)
From what I understand, this means that the computer is unable to see that the camera is a Mass Storage Device, thus it times out and is unable to boot it as such.
So I set up my system with the USB Prober and the associated logging file.
I ran the USB Prober on level 7 while I connected the camera.
I know zilch about reading and comprehending any of the results except this snippet really stuck out to me:
It occurred twice more:
3635.575 [5] Finding driver for interface #0 of Samsung Digital Camera, matching personality using com.apple.iokit.IOUSBUserClient, score: 104999, wildCard = 5 3635.575 [6] Matched: idVendor (8107) idProduct (4152) bcdDevice (256) bConfigurationValue (1) bInterfaceNumber (0) 3635.575 [6] Didn't Match: nothing
Just looking at this particular result, it looks like the computer is unable to identify what exactly USB device is being plugged in.
I have a macbook and I have been using it just fine with my nikon l120 camera up until now. I have a bunch of photos and videos from a trip that I need to upload, today. Now when I plug in my camera...it doesn't show up anywhere on my computer! It does however show that it is charging because it blinks when it is connected.
I have a Mac OSx ver 10.6.8 using Aperture ver 3.2.4. I recently tried downloading my pictures from my Pentax K-r. Could not import pictures. Since then I cannot eject the Pentax K-r icon and Aperture keeps trying to load assets even without the camera being connected to my Mac. How can I stop this from happening?
I bouth upgrade to the CS5 and got CS6 but it looks taht my iMac 10.5.8 cannot install Ps Cs6 since its software is too old ( 10.5.8). Do I need new computer to do so cause I cannot find upgrade to my computer which is not that old ( I bouth it in Jan 2009). What can I do.
I have thumbnails but when double clicked the picture is black. I have rebuilt Aperture every way possible. This happened, and has happened in the past since upgrading to mavericks. I have had nothing but problems since doing so. I get a message that the application memory is full and I have to force quit Aperture. I used exactly the same editing in Mountain Lion and never once had this problem.
I can't import MXF files shot on a Canon C300 into FCP 10.1.2. I have the Canon plug in for MXF file to FCP import but FCPX still doesn't recognize MXF files when I try to import. Premiere works fine importing MXF on the same computer.

I'm running out of disk space due to loads of RAW files in Aperture. I was wondering if it's possible to convert all the files in my library to jpeg (masters + edited) and move the RAW files to an external HDD just in case.
I recently shot some footage on a Canon C300 and would like to edit it on FCP 7, problem is it seems since my computer did the upgrade to mavericks I can no longer find the appropriate driver on the Canon site as Mavericks is not supported by Canon for this particular update.
After researching I found that mxf files can be transcoded in log and capture but you need the appropriate driver installed. I have looked into third party applications but none of them seem entirely trust worthy and some cost money, which I don't believe I should pay considering I bought a legit copy of FCP at great expense and Apple seems to have forgotten all about it now FCX has been out for a while.

I recently bought a macbook pro 13, and this is my first time using my camera to take the pictures out. Whenever I go onto iPhoto or Image Capture it says the file in not recognized. Does anyone know what I can do?
I seem to be accumulating a lot of "duplicate" photo files. Some are in iPhoto & some are in Aperture. I import the files from the camera with Nikon transfer. Then I import them into iPhoto. Then I may import them into Aperture. When I use Finder I see multiple file with the same name & either the same or different file extension. I'm going to stop using Nikon transfer, & directly import from the camera to iPhoto. Is there a way to sync photo files to eliminate duplicates or an easy way to organize files so I can delete duplicates?
I haven't been able to get Aperture 3 to work with any GPS log file. And I mean anything. Not CSV, KMZ, NMEA or GPX files. Either they are not read at all, or they are read halfway and crash the program. I'm using a Columbus V-900 which produces weird CSV files, but seem to export fine using TimeAlbum to basically any format I want. Maybe a software update soon to make this feature work better?
This happens again and again, and it's EXTREMELY irritating.
I am trying to import some existing JPEGs on my Desktop. When I try Import in Aperture, the file browser simply does not see most files and folders. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. It seems to happen on a whim. This is very bad, I have just about had it with Aperture. And yes, permissions are set correctly.
On what basis Aperture sees or does not see certain files/folders?
I have an older library, that I updated to the current Aperture, and recently froze from bad media. I think it was a bunch of videos in one of the events. Anyways, I want to copy some of the photos from a event in the old library to a new working library. I tried exporting and it froze, leaving the photo export in some limbo state...
