I have a MacBook Pro that I use to stream my iToons Music to an Airport Express that I have plugged into an amplifier to power external speakers. Is there a way that I can plug a microphone with a USB connector into my MAC to use my system as a Public Address?

View 1 Replies View Relatedpicked up an Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 for my X1900XT card. Got tired of hearing the stock fan kick up every month or so needed to be vacuumed out as the fins got clogged. Anywho, the cooler is designed to work alone without a fan and is working great, however I would like to install the fan module for the cooler to give it just a bit more cooling power, especially with hot Alabama summers on the horizon. Does anybody have a spare stock X1900XT fan 3 pin power plug available or know of a source of one? My Mac Pro is still under Applecare, so if anything happens and I need to get it back to Apple I need to return the video card to stock form, thus not allowing me to use the plug that is on the stock fan I removed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently I acquired an Airport Extreme base station. I have 2 wifi networks because I am not on cable, it's an adsl service. At the moment the extreme is in bridge mode and its like the 2 networks are fused together, so the PC can access my mac's files and so on.
However, I want to be able to point to opendns' name servers inside my extremes settings, as opposed to individual computers, and wondered that if I got it to share a public ip address, would it bugger up my connectivity in any way? I'm too wuss to try it in case i can't connect.
After initially installing win 7, and taking a few stabs at the correct driver for the wireless card in my mac pro (apple installed), i got wifi working with a public network.
HOWEVER, i installed windows updates, restarted, and now it's just not working again!
it says that there is not a valid ip address... my macs get on fine...
how to diagnose and fix? the win 7 dianostics do nothing.
I have iMac mid 2008 and I've been using it with Vista before for gaming a lot, but have just installed 7 instead and everything would be great if my microphone doesn't stop working Actually the system can see it but there is no record at all on any recording level. I never had any issue with XP or Vista, and on S-Leopard it still working, so my question is -Have anyone here experienced any problem like this and is there a way out? I tried re-installing BootCamp 3.0, installing Vista's 2.1 Bootcamp drivers instead and also tried the Realtek's drivers from their site -

Recently converted IBOOK from just my wifes computer to both of us so it is now dual usuage with both of us signing in to our respective files/e-mail, etc. My side has a problem never experienced before. My apple mail system address book has all the names the dock address book does but is missing almost 2/3rd of the actual e-mail addressess. I have tried to redo the dock address book in hopes it would change the "internal" mail book, but to no avail. It id difficult to add a recipient to an outgoing e-mail via the dock address instead of the apple mail address book.

I have been running both for a week now. The itunes beta has a BIG BUG that is driving me nuts! Whenever I try to edit a song or artist name by clicking on it, Itunes force closes.

What does it mean when it says that you can't play a movie because a public atom was found in the file. I was wondering if there was a way to use the iPhone's audio jack as an external jack for the macbook pro via USB or so, as i own the 13 inch model, that only offers one jack.
I want to use garage band just trying out a bit and i'd need an extra jack for the headphones, otherwise the microphone will record what's played over the internal speakers.
EDIT: I forgot to say that I already tried things like AirPhones, meaning wireless stream to iphone. But there's unfortunately few moments of latency, so i hardly can use it for recording.

Since upgarding to itunes 11.2 When ever I plug my iphone in to sync or even have it on the same netwrok to auto sync via wifi. My itunes crashes and I have to force quit the application. I have tried reinstalling itunes but this hasnt worked. I get this script in my console

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy public folder was name using my full name. How can I change this? Firstly, where did it get my name from? Maybe I typed my full name in at some point - I can't remember, but now i use my intials for my login name and proper short name. I deselected the folder for sharing then reselected it trying to find if it was re-nameable and in doing this my full name has disappeared but my short name or initials havent been used - so now it just says "Public" - does anyone know how to name this so when someone selects my laptop under Network it shows "Yuan's" Public Folder? Maybe if I restart the laptop or repair permissions it will correct itself - ill try now.

While on a recent trip, my wife tried to connect to an unsecured wifi network named "free public wifi". I told her to cancel it quick since I had remembered reading something about viral ssid's named that. Does anyone know if this would affect a mac? I'm not even convinced that if fully connected, since it wasn't listed in her preferred networks pane, but I just wanted to make sure.
