I have an old airport express that i want to configure but it cannot be found on airport utility. The AX (airport express) itself flashing green light constantly after reset.

I just came home from a 4 day vacation and noticed that my wifi was down. Upon inspection i found that the light on my Airport Express is flashing green rapidly (3-4 flashes/second - much faster than the flashing when starting up).
I cannot find the Airport with Airport Utility and I have tried both a hard reset and a factory reset with no luck - it just keeps flashing.
Is there anything I can do or is it dead?
When it is plugged into my computer it stays green and doesn't charge. Any ideas as to why this is or what I should do?

I have a networking question.
So I bought an AirPort Extreme Wireless-N and hooked it up to my cable modem and used the AirPort Utility to set up the base station to use DHCP.
It asks for stuff like DNS information and IP addresses in the wizard but I leave them blank hoping that the process is just going to be plug and play.
However, at the end of the wizard I was left with an amber light and a message saying that my internet connection was not working.
So then I go and plug my MBP directly to the cable modem via ethernet to try find my IP information. The modem works, so this rules out any problem of the modem to have internet connectivity.
It also gives me a bunch of IP address information:
So then I go back into the AirPort Utility and this time opt for a manual set up. I put in IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router, and DNS information into where it tells me to and let the wizard do its thing.
Afterward it says that the entire thing works perfectly. So I'm feelin' great about this except for the fact that I can't access the internet.. The light on the unit itself is SOLID GREEN, but there is no connectivity.
I am pretty much at a loss as to what to do.
I know that the general consensus here is that the Mighty Mouse is a piece of shit. That notwithstanding, I'd appreciate posters refraining from engaging in further elaborations on that concept when replying to this topic (i.e., no comments like "Buy a new mouse," please).
At any rate, I purchased a wireless Mighty Mouse about a month ago and was very happy with it until the batteries apparently died. One day the pointer simply stopped responding and the green light on the bottom of the mouse was flashing. I replaced the batteries and the mouse resumed normal operation. Then, a few days later it happened again. I have yet to re-replace the batteries and have reverted to using my now eight-year-old Logitech dual-optical mouse (possibly the finest peripheral I have ever owned). Has anyone else encountered this issue?
Is this mouse having internal hardware or software issues or is it normal for it to devour batteries at this rate? System Preferences says that Bluetooth is maintaining the connection properly, so I am ruling that out as an issue. I would just say to hell with it, and use my Logitech mouse full-time, but my wife hates it and I payed seventy goddamn dollars for the Apple product.
my airport express is in the other room so i can play my xbox360 online. but recently my express is flashing amber? and when i go to the airport utility i cant see my airport express.. so i just want to know how to get my airport express to get internet to it so i can plug and ethernet cord from my xbox360 to my airport express?

The Time Capsule is connected to my BT Home Hub (Modem/Router) via Bridge Mode, therefore, I run two networks in my home. The BT runs wireless G, and the TC, wireless N. Last week, my BT home hub was automatically restarting and cutting off the connection, this in-turn would cause the amber light to start flashing on the TC and AE. However, once the problem was fixed, the TC went back to green, but the AE still flashed amber. So today, I decided to move the AE to the same room as the TC and try to manually reset it using the push-pin hole on the bottom. That worked, but it only showed up in AirPort Utility for about 5 seconds before flashing amber and disappearing. I've tried re-setting it about 4 times, still with no avail.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy router is giving me troubles all of a sudden. It's been flashing the yellow/amber light and I cannot connect to the internet anymore through it.
I've unplugged it and used a different ethernet cable through it, but it still won't connect.
However, my internet does work when I directly plug the ethernet cable into the back of my Mac. So it's not my ISP, which makes me think it's the router.
My AEBS is no more than 6-8 months old, and this is the first time I can't seem to fix it. Usually unpluging it and turning it off and back on will work.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was using my MacBook this evening and navigated to a webpage that wouldn't load (perhaps due to excessive load) when my screen turned off and refused to turn back on. The white "sleep" light remained constant. I shut the screen and the light started to blink after the optical drive made it's noise and then I opened the screen again. The display turned on for a few seconds turning back off and the light on the front reverted to it's constant state.
I repeated pressing keys, the mouse and closing and opening the screen a few times before holding the power button down and forcing it to shut down. It's working fine now. I am wondering what caused this sudden behaviour though and how to best stop it from happening again, if I was working on something that needed to be saved, I'd be buggered. Perhaps it's an issue Apple needs to service, but how do I reproduce the effect then?

I was thinking it could possibly be related to the Last.fm app, but why would it turn my screen off and then cause it to continue to not respond/turn off? Should I be looking in the Console for a log before shutting down tonight, would that reveal something?
I recently switched routers. I've been able to configure the router to join my wireless network. I know it has joined because the light changes from green to amber when the router reboots. When I was configuring, I checked the Enable Airplay checkbox and gave the Airport Express a name and password. I start up iTunes and there is no Airplay icon in the lower right like there used to be with the old router. What am I missing about enabling Airplay? Is there an Airplay app I'm missing that would allow me to find the Airport Express with Airplay?

I have an Airport Express which I use to play my iTunes music on my home sound system. But I want it to do more and I can't find any information on the web to find out if it can do what I want it to do. So here goes.
I was hoping that I can buy a NAS drive to use for external storage of my music, and use the built in iTunes server on that NAS drive to act as the bridge between the Apple "Remote" application on my iPhone and my Airport Express. This way I don't need to turn on my computer to play music on my home system, because it's all controlled by my iPhone and the always on NAS driveiTunes server.
Is this possible? Are there any other multimedia devices that can do this?
Older G5, with built in Airport, sees Airport Express to drive printer but iTunes doesn't see remote speakers wired to same AE. Was having occasional drop outs, replaced AE with new; seemed to be OK;then speakers stopped showing up in iTunes

when I try to choose either of my two airport expresses or apple tv in the speaker button - bottom right - in iTunes... the result is that is says " connecting to airport express" and just times out. this has happened over and over today.

The ideal setup for me would be to have my mac run my music/audio from the bedroom and have airport express stream the audio to a Tivoli model 2 (it only has one aux input) in the living room. If I just use itunes it should be a pretty simple setup, but I have one dilemma.
I listen to a lot of Sirius radio and would like to stream Sirius internet radio to the same speakers. Is this possible with airport xpress?? If not what are some of my other options? If possible I want to avoid buying another receiver and using its fm xmiter, this would probably work fine due to the close proximity to the speakers but not a very ideal set-up.
Any advice/experience anyone has to share would be great, also if there are any issue with airtunes I should know.
My macbook pro 13" 2011 was working fine all day. I left it for a bit and opened it up at the end of the day and it shut down as soon as the display booted up. I figured it just needed to charge and left it plugged in over night, but there was no change in the morning. MagSafe is blinking green/amber when plugged in. There is no respsonse from pressing and holding the power button, and the charging display lights on the side aren't lighting up either. I tried the SMC reset with no results. Other threads have suggested unplugging and reconnecting the battery connector inside the shell, but I can't find this connector in my model. I think it might be under the battery?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI know that if the vista, office itunes were to send straight to the airport express its bitperfect (not that I have lossless music, id just like to keep whatever fidelity i have throughout the chain). But I dont know if had another machine streaming music from the central itunes, out from the 2nd machine to airport express if it still would be bitperfect. I would think it would bc its still a digital signal all the way to the receiver in the living room, but i wanted to make sure.

Then I have an Time Capsule in another room that extends this network. My iMac is connected to this Time Capsule using Ethernet (WiFi is turned off completely).

Airport Express and Time Capsule have the latest firmware (v7.6.1)
Internet, sharing and other functions are working fine, just Airplay from the iMac doesn't work anymore to the Airport Express. I've tried lots of solutions, and this just seems to be broken. I've submitted to Apple feedback as well explaining the situation and that this doesn't work. If I add/remove a password or enable/disable airplay on the Express, it does reflect in iTunes. It also shows that the Airplay is locked/unlocked (see image) and also shows it as a visible audio destination.
But when you activate it from iTunes, it doesn't ask for any password (if enabled), but it just displays the "connecting" dialog for about 1 minute and then closes the window without any error and just does nothing. It's like iTunes cannot communicate to the Airport Express, although at the same time I can connect to it's internal configuration (edit) and also connect to the internet, my router's config using a browser, etc. without any problems. Also, if I'm using my iPad and iPhone, I can easily use the Airport Express from those devices, but NOT from the iMac.

Our green light comes on for our camera (on our Mac 10.4.11) when we are not using it. It also comes on when photobooth and ichat are not running. Does this mean that we have a virus, someone somewhere is watching us, or what?

I rebooted the Airport Express and checked the settings. According to the Airport Admin utility it's online.
Not sure what's wrong here. I have two mac's and the speakers aren't showing up on either.
For the record I have been using my Airport Express without any problems for about five months.
After upgrading to Lion on my Macbook Air, I can't seem to be able to connect to my external speakers through airport express. Somehow I can't get the little icon I used to do, on the bottom right corner of the iTunes window (on the left of genius) to select the speakers. I checked the preferences in vain.

I bought this Late 2007 macbook off of craigslist, and it was working perfectly. But after a little water got mon my macbook and charger, I plugged it in and it had a bright green light and wouldn't charge. The Next day I plugged it in and it only had a dim green light, it wouldn't Start up without the battery, or run without it. Now all I need is the battery in it to start it up and it will run off of the charger, But it still has that dim green light. The charger is a little Damaged, Photo's In the attachments. My dog chewed on it a while back. This is my first macbook, And the dvd drive is not working, but I have managed to reinstall SL with USB, So it is not a software problem.

I unplugged my blackbook last night when it was fully charged so I could drain the battery. Then I moved my macbook upstairs to the router and plugged in the ethernet so I could publish my website. I then plugged in my charger so it wouldn't die with publishing but its suddenly stopped working. The outlets work with other electronic devices but not my blackbook charger. No green light or nothing. It worked just a hour or two ago.
