ITunes :: Transfer Songs From Iphone To Mac?
Jun 25, 2012
I need to transfer my itunes to my new macbook pro. I have no access to my old PC, therefore the only access to my itunes is my phone. I have my purchased files transferred, but can't transfer "non-apple" purchases. I spoke to customer service, and he recommended dowloading a software to help.

I bought music on a PC a long time ago (in 2005 maybe?) and got a new Macbook, did the purchased songs redownloading thing, but wasn't able to get those old songs, so I checked my purchased history and it said that the oldest song I bought was in 2008. Or at least tell me what the apple support email adress is?

I'm trying to transfer some songs from my friend's band onto my friend's iPod. However iTunes just opens up a window saying that I can either "Erase and Sync" or "Transfer Purchases From Another iPod". Is there a way to just open iTunes up and transfer my music to the other iPod?

I have a Macbook with about 5,000 songs on it, all of which are burned from actual hard copies of CDs that I own. Rather than re-burning each CD to my new Windows computer, I would like to see if there's a way to transfer all these songs from Mac to PC using an external hard drive.Â
The real question is how can I format my external hard drive to be recognized on both a Macbook running Snow Leopard and a PC running Windows 7?

I am having a really hard time getting songs off of my iphone. I know that I need to go to itunes and uncheck all of the songs from the "music" tab under where I see my iphone as a device, but it's still not working. I went on other discussion boards on here and read that I should try to uncheck the box to manually manage music and then try to uncheck them again, but now I have my entire itunes library on my phone, even though I unchecked all of the boxes of music that I don't want.Â

i just got my first Mac. All of the files from my PC were deleted, so I'm wondering if there's a way to load all of the songs, pictures, etc on my iPhone to my Mac? I'm worried that if I connect my phone, it may sync and erase everything I have saved.

I purchased an album off of iTunes and it double-loaded the songs on my iPhone. This is annoying enough, but the doubles are faulty, with no artwork, cutting out randomly, and even crashing iTunes on my phone. I removed the songs from my library (thinking I would just re-sync and reload them after) but the faulty doubles stayed on my phone. How do I get rid of them? They're not even in my library, and they don't show on my phone when I check it in iTunes, but they're still on the phone.

The past week my iTunes hasn't been syncing all songs to my iPhone 4. They all appear in the list of "On this iPhone", but not all are synced. I have tried restarting iTunes and my phone. I have tried a hard reset. I have tried reinstalling iTunes on my computer. I have tried completely resetting my phone (and lost all my apps, as apparently, they hadn't been syncing to my iTunes as I thought they had after getting them on my phone).I have deleted everything on my phone, and tried to "Manage music manually". It now gets to where it starts copying the music onto my phone, but it still doesn't copy everything. I've done all this with Find my iPhone switched off because that was an issue for some. I have no Voice Memos (some suggested these may cause the problem). Â
I've completely lost it now. Important things in my apps are now all gone at the cost of this, and nothing works yet. This is ridiculous. Does it have to do with my iTunes library?

I am using iTunes to play music via airplay to my apple TV as well as the headphone jack on the computer connected to an external speaker for a multiple room setup. I tried to use the request feature in iTunes DJ, which allows others connected to your wifi to request upcoming songs using the remote app for iPhone and iPad. iTunes will quit unexpectedly once more than 1 person has connected to make a request. is there a way to limit how many devices can connect at the same time?Â
I am using 10.7.3 with a MacBook Pro late 2011 and the most the recent version of itunes. I have tried restarting and having itunes be the only app that is open.

I have an iPhone 4S. There are some songs that I purchased through iTunes that are not downloading to my phone. The songs are listed in iTunes under both "Music" and "Purchased." The songs are checked. On my iPhone, under SUMMARY, I have checked "sync only checked songs and videos," and under MUSIC I have checked "entire music library."Â
The phone and computer are both authorized to the same iTunes account. The weird thing is that, for most of the missing albums, the first song of the purchased album has downloaded, but the rest are not. Â

I listen to a lot of different types of stuff on my iPhone. One of my favorites has always been audiobooks. Lots of little 5 minute 'songs' that would play in order. It USED to be easy: listen to files in order, then delete them from iTunes as I go along, the next time I charged my phone, boom, all the stuff I was done with was gone. Bookmarking and file management took care of itself. All I had to do was keep my iTunes library neat and orderly.Â
No more. Now I have to screw around in the phone itself to do anything. This is obtuse and difficult since the larger keyboard and mouse are much easer to use than the tiny touch pad. But, it no longer seems to work.Â
Is this a feature I can somehow get back or is this part of the new apple scheme of things?

Both my MacBook Pro and iPhone were set up to shuffle all songs, but in the past they seem to have played an awful lot of repeats without playing different music all the time! Now I just updated the software and re-synced and can't even set up shuffle on the phone any more. Clicking on the crossed and uncrossed arrows on each side of the phone doesn't do anything. Shaking just shuffles inside the album playing.

I have 2 macs with two completely independent iTunes databases. They are used for differnt purposes and contain different music. I really do not want to merge these two databases.
From time to time I need to selectively transfer some few songs from the one computer to the other one. Is there a clever way I can achieve this? I would like to transfer the files including the metadata.

I have a newish mac with everything transferred from the old. I attempted to transfer some new songs I just purchased to my iphone by manual transfer but I get the message: The iPhone is synced with another iTunes library. Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library. Its the same itunes library transferred onto this mac so i dont understand?
