Most of my attempted fixes use only my MacBook, OS X 10.7.3 (current Lion), iTunes is 10.5.3(3) 64-bit (current version). Phone is AT&T 4S, 16 GB v. 5.0.1 (9A406, current version).I have used iCloud match on this phone, but now have it shut off. When I use iTunes to view the music on the iPhone, I see 1864 songs. iTunes sees this as 1864 items, 5 days, zero bytes). All are streams. All are greyed out. I can't delete them. I can't overwrite them becuase I can't sync. Â
This problem is on every computer I have tried. 4 different computers, all running either Lion, Snow Leopard, Windows 746x or Windows 8. I have tried the following:Â Reset all settings on iPhone, then restored from iCloudRemove all applications and settings, then restored phone from iCloudremoved iTunes, reinstalled (windows only)Turned off iTunes match on Mac, Windows and iPhoneRemoved all device support for iPhone, then re-installed itRestarted iPhone, Mac and PCReinstalled Windows from scratchTried a Mac that had never synced this phone before.Tried new installation of OSX (install Snow Leopard, upgrade to Lion)Tried DIAGNOSTICS on Windows iTunes (all passed, including Device Connectivity, then it reported 'sync failed to start')Tried one post that insisted my iCloud settings on my Mac and in the iPhone control panel needed to match, so I tried that too. It does not start the backup process when scheduled time passed.
symptoms:
1.Example: TM says Next Backup: Today, 10:21 AM, the backup did not start, the time changed to the next bacup schedule time 11:20. No other message. When I look at the log, there are no activity at all.
2. I can request a backup "Backup Now", it backs up normaly. It updates the time for the next schedule backup.
3. For some unknow reason the TM may do a backup and schedule the next backup, but when the time due for the next backup, it will not start the job, it just reschedule the next back up time.
4. The TM disk icon will not stay as the blue time machine icon. It switch to the regular yellow disk icon.

I use iCloud for syning Mail & Notes. Contacts, Calendars and Documents & Data. I am 100% sure that in the past in iTunes/Info tab "Sync contacts" and "Sync Mail Accounts" showed all my different Address Book groups and different email account to be synced. Since recently they seem disappeared and I only see my different Calendars to be synced. Why are both Sync contacts empty and Sync Mail Accounts both emtpy/dimmed. BTW if I check Sync contacts I get a message that they are synced through iCloud etc. etc. Now if I enable on my Mac another email account in Apple Mail it is not added to my iPhone/iPad anymore. How can I change that ?Â

So here is what I'm trying to do, I've got a 160 gb of music in itunes on my macbook pro, but I need to decrease that number, b/c my I'm running out of hard drive space and my library is only getting larger. I want to have it set up so that I've got my entire library on my external hard drive (1 TB, space is not an issue), and while I'm at home I can access the entire library. However, while I'm out of the house, I'd like to only have about half of my current collection with me on my macbook pro..
I tried to set it up using the 'itunes manage multiple libraries' method, but this didn't transfer any of my ratings or playlists. Then I realized that with having these two libraries completely separate, this will be a re-occurring theme. The playlist and ratings between the two separate libraries in two separate locations, would continue to get more and more askew from each other depending on which library I'm accessing when I import new music, change ratings, or modify playlists...........

I've been syncing my devices for years, but after I updated to iTunes 10.6 then attempted to sync my iPhone 4, iTunes aborts and does not complete the sync. I tried my iPad as well with exactly the same results. So, I expect that something has begun corrupted in iTunes and I tried to revert to the previous version of iTunes with Time machine, but the Mac reported that I cannot remove iTunes. It could be a library that is corrupt or a cache of some sort, but I can't tell.Â

I have a new-to-me MacBook (running Lion) and I just downloaded all my music into iTunes. I had been sync'd with an old PC laptop previously. If I choose to sync my iPhone (4S) with iTunes on the MacBook, will it delete my apps and data (as the warning in iTunes leads me to believe)? I do use iCloud backup on the iPhone, and I've got all kinds of apps installed (and arranged to my liking). What's the best way to have my music sync with the MacBook without having to reinstall my apps?Â

I have used itunes for years. For the first time I have actually bought a movie from itunes (glengary glenross). I synced my iphone 4 to get the movie on my phone so I could watch it on my phone during slow times at work. However I cannot get the movie to sync? So all my other movies which were ripped with handbrake work fine. I have those under the "movie" catergory and they are fine and sync fine. This purchased movie will not go to my phone. It does show under my "purchased" playlist with all the songs I have bought. However it isn't showing in my iphone under the playlist! I can play the movie fine off of my macbook and even moved it to my movie category with the rest of the movies. I have "include movies from playlists" checked under movies when snycing but it doesn't show on my iphone. I have looked thru and spotlight searched it and no go What am I doing wrong on this itunes purchased movie?

Recently any new playlists I create in iTunes are not appearing as an option to sync to my iPhone or iPad. I am manually managing music and have other playlists checked to sync and they work fine. But, if I create a new playlist it simply does not show up. If I delete a playlist it disappears from the available options to sync but nothing when I create a new one.

I have a macbook and windows 7 desktop. I have iTunes on both, but I download songs on both, so when I sync my iPod shuffle with my macbook's itunes, it might not have songs that my desktop has. Is there a way that I can have it so I can use my home network to sync my itunes list on my desktop and laptop (so if one list doesn't have a song that the other has, it gets it)?

I have a Macbook Pro running the latest Lion, and also the latest iTunes. I am trying to sync my extensive iTunes library with my iPod. The iPod is an oldie; on of the 80GB versions that also play video. It's software is up to date. I sync, and it tells me it is finished, with no errors. When I go and use the iPod, I find that this isn't the case. I go and play an album for instance, and I find that only half the songs are there. I go and plug it into the Macbook, sync again, and then I try it out and I find that in the same particular album, I still do not have the complete album, but what is weird is that some of the songs that are there, weren't there before, and others that were there before, are gone!Â
NB: I have selected that my iPod is a iPod classic, but I don't think that is right. Like I said, it is the 80GB version that plays videos too. It is the same I believe as the one U2 endorsed.

My Iphone recently got stolen and I am now using my friends old iPhone. I was wondering how I can sync my friends iPhone to my iTunes so that this iPhone I'm using now gets synced with all my contacts, photos, apps, music etc. I am hesitant to click on 'sync' and 'restore' because my friends old iPhone still has his stuff on it and I don't want to lose my stuff on my iTunes.

I have an old, 4 GB sony mp3 player, and I'd like to transfer my videos to it. With the music, I can just drag it into the drive that represents the player on the screen, but it won't let me view the movies if I transfer them in the same way. I'm thinking this might be because iTunes has to recognize the device, since the file type is a protected MPEG-4.Â
Just fyi, yes the device is m4v compatible. how to sync a non-apple device to iTunes?

Recently I have connected my phone to try and synchronise it because I had some new music that I would like to put on it. Unfortunately, when I connected and tried to sync I immediately found something odd because my sync did not do the full 4 steps but only 2, being : starting sync and looking for tracks to sync.Â
I later discovered that for some odd reason iTunes said there was not enough space on my iPhone to sync my music with, even though there is over 10GB left of space. I read a similar problem where the iTunes wanted to re-sync the full library with the iPhone if it sensed that it was not the usual iPhone it did an initial sync with. However, that's not true. I am using the iPhone I've always used and this Mac's one and only hardware it's ever synced with is my iPhone. So I don't understand why iTunes would want to re-sync my full library.Â
Furthermore, I only want to add around 20 soungs to my iPhone, which definitely does not take 10GB and the main issue is that without any recent updates or changes or anything, my sync only does two steps anymore and says there isn't enough capacity on my phone to sync it with. I unchecked "sync Music" to try and lower the space, pressed Apply but now it won't even sync my Music back anymore.
iPhone 4 iOS 7.0.2 version.

Anyone know of a script or such to get my iTunes onto my Sansa? I'm operating a MacBook and have a Sansa m240 player.

I keep getting the following error message when attempting to sync my contacts, calendar, and bookmarks with my iPhone. When I check these under the "info" tab and ciick apply, the following error message appears:
iTunes cannot sync information with the iPhone because syncing has been disabled on this computer. Do you want to enable syncing? If you do not enable syncing, iTunes will not be able to sync contacts, calendars, bookmarks or mail accounts to your iPhone.
When I click yes, the following prompt appears:
*Syncing cannot be enable on this compute*r. The options I'm presented with are:
override and Ok.
When I click override, it takes away my selections to sync contacts, calendars, etc.
I have never disabled syncing. I've looked through system and iTunes preferences and can't even find an option to disable/enable syncing.
I'm attempting to setup up MobileMe and need to get this problem resolved.

I have about 5 songs that are vinyl rips and they are in apple lossless. But for some reason when I go to sync them to my iPod i get an error and it says that they can't be sync'd. I attatched a screenshot of the songs info. I'm not really sure why it doesn't want to sync since itunes plays it fine and it's in the right format.

Whenever I press sync in iTunes, it starts doing all sorts of things like backing up the ipod touch, downloading the applications which takes forever. Is there a way just to sync the podcasts? I have gone through all the various settings and deselected everything that might be causing this.
I don't know why many have used ml_ipod with winamp in the past but I had a good thing going. But unfortunately Apple seems to have broken the support with the latest firmware.
