I have more than 5 computers authorised to use my account and want my new laptop to have access. I don't have access to the other computers anymore - how do i stop them from having access and allow my new laptop access?
I have deauthorised and started again, but still have the same problem I have also follwed advice about the SC folder in users/shared but I dont have it. I am running Lion.
I have an iMac, iPhone 4 and new iPad all associated with my one and sole Apple ID and all authorised to share the same itunes library (stored on the iMac) when they're in range of my home wifi. I also have automatic downloads set up for music only. Home sharing works fine.
When I download music from itunes on the iMac it appears on the iPhone and the iPad as well. So far, so good. When I download music from itunes on the iPhone it appears on the iMac as well but NOT the iPad.When I download music from itunes on the iPad it appears on the iPhone but NOT the iMac. When I try and use the itunes "download purchases" facility to add it to my iTunes library on the iMac, I get an error message saying the iMac is already associated with an ID and I can't associate it with another one for another 32 days. But I thought I only had the one ID?
Everything is running the most up to date software. It was all bought brand new, either direct from Apple or obtained boxed and sealed from a major retailer. I've only ever had the one ID.
I'm about to switch to a different Mac, and I need some help with cleaning out my old one and setting up my new one. Are there any websites which give good information on transferring mail accounts/files to the new mac and safely cleaning out the old computer?
Over the years I have bought songs under different account IDs. They all show up and play when I am in iTunes or iPhone, but only newer ones will play over my Apple TV.
I set up the icloud on to my computers, now I cannot connect my iphone to my computers, I get a err message saying it is drawing to much power from my computers, whats up?I didn't have this problem before and it is on both my imac and my macbook.
so i have all my music on one computer and on my iphone, but i want to know how to go to another computer and get songs off that one without losing my original library,
I've reached my 5 computer limit of authorization. Problem is, I've only used two computers as I have been reinstalled Windows a few times this past year. Is there any way to get around this, or will it mean I won't be able to sync my phone correctly anymore?
I am trying to enable home sharing and I get an error message you already have 5 computers you need to de-authorize 1. How cna I tell what 5 are authorize. I suspect that some computers I know longer have are on the authorize list.
The AppleID of all my accounts (iTunes, ADC, Apple Dev Center, apple store) is my mobileme email (username@mac.com)
I would like to change this (using some other appleid to separate these accounts from mobileme) so that I don't need to renew my mobileme subscription. From Apple websites, I cannot do this, AppleID cannot be changed if it is a mobileme id.
How can I do? What will happend if my mobileme subscription finished? All accounts will be finished or what else?
I recently had 2 computers that were destroyed by a flood and now I cannot de-authorize them (I have used the de-authorize all computers in Sept. of last year)
Is there a way to remotely deauthorize computers from itunes? My songs were all authorized to play on my computer all of a sudden some are deauthorized and are asking me to authorize it again. Then it says 5 computers are already authorized. I only have 2 in my house right now. The screwy thing is they used to be authorized on this computer anyway.
Is there any way I can deauthorize all my computers from itunes without waiting for the exact date that apple just assigned to me? I find this very annoying and unuseful specially for people who are purchasing Mac computers every year I cannot deauthorize old computers because I need to wait for a certain period of time before I can deauthorize for what?
I used the "Deauthorize All" from my iTunes account to remove computers I not long have access to. I only authorized two computers and I still get an error at times (only sometimes) telling me that I already have 5 computers authorized. I have a household of Apple devices using iTunes but only two computer.
I have lost my harddrive which contains a vast amount of music I've been collecting for many years. I just purchased a new Mac, but I've reached my activation limit. And I only have access to 2 of the 5 activated computers. My old music can still be played on my iPod, but I need to set up another account on my new Mac. What will happen to my music if I were to deactivate all of activated computers?
I have authorized the max amount of computers allowed. I no longer have access to any of the five computers. How can I deauthorize all computer without access to them or capability of authorizing my new computer.
I want to use the same Itunes library on two computers. I currently have the "Itunes Music" folder on the external hard drive. This works for one machine, but the library files are still on the internal drive. So, if I go into preferences on a different machine, I can point it to the same folder, but it doesn't have the library files.
I found a cheat method I've used before, I use tweakUI to move the My Music folder to the external drive, for both machines, and Itunes puts everything there.
I have searched, googled, etc., and not found a satisfactory answer. Briefly, I have used my ITunes on our MBP and on an old Dell PC. At various times I have downloaded music, TV shows, movies etc to either system. Our AppleTV syncs with the Dell and purchased stuff is on there. I just bought a new 27" IMac and a qnap NAS. I want all the media to be on the NAS. How do I go about "merging" the ITunes data from the two computers into a single file on the NAS drive? Is there a way to do so - without losing stuff or without having to individually go through every single song, show, movie, etc.?
So I downloaded a music album from itunes and it was added to my library. This was done on a PC running win 7. How do I keep that library in sync with my MBA running OS X? Thought I could actually just download the album again on the MBA for free when logged into the same itunes account, but it appears that I can't.
I have 4 computers linked to my Apple ID and numerous IPhones and IPods. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I purchase a song, and successfully download it, using my computer. The only way to get it to the other computers is by transferring it via my IPhone or IPods. It seems as if I've downloaded something once from Apple, then they don't let me download it again onto a registered machine using the same Apple ID. Therefore, I transfer music/app content using my devices. Isn't this what everyone does?
Now, Mac app store is coming! How the heck am I going to download content onto one computer and then transfer it to another computer (Apple says the 1 time purchase will be good for all your computers). Do you think Apple will allow multiple downloads of the same software to any computer associated with you Apple ID? If this is the case: Why not allow us to do the same thing with our ITunes purchases? Anyone care to chime in and letting me know if I'm off base, or have any suggestions, etc.?
I've been searching the forums and web looking for info on how to / best way to sync iTunes libraries (including playlists, ratings, and play counts). I've found several programs including TuneRanger, SuperSync, Syncopation and some others (links below). The general consensus seems to be that they all suck. (TuneRanger seems to do exactly what I want, but doesn't appear to have a free trial period.) [URL]
Is there an easy way to keep my ITunes libraries in between two computers (MacBook and IMac), and my iPhone in sync? I've been having a bit of trouble, particularly with my IPhone - if I'm on the road, and download new podcast episodes daily, and then get home at the end of the week and plug my IPhone into my iMac, rather than syncing the new podcast episodes to the IMac, the IPhone gets wiped out and only has the podcasts, songs, etc that were on the IMac. Is there any easy way to keep the libraries on the two computers and my IPhone synchronized?
Okay so here's my setup: IPhone MacBook Pro (10.6.2) Mac mini (10.6.2) Airport Extreme with a USB Hard Drive
I would like to set up one ITunes Library so both of my computers can access it. Furthermore I would like to be able connect my IPhone to any of the computers in the house and sync my music, podcasts and applications as normal. Here's what I've tried so far (which worked with my music, but didn't work with podcasts and IPhone application, etc).
1. Copied all the music to my Mac mini. 2. Opened iTunes Preferences and pointed my library to the 'Music' my NAS drive. 3. Went to File > Library > Organise > Consolidate Library. Now my NAS iTunes library has all my music, but has no library file or XML file in it. Plus if I add ratings to any of my music, the information is not transferred over to my other computer.
