I used the "Deauthorize All" from my iTunes account to remove computers I not long have access to. I only authorized two computers and I still get an error at times (only sometimes) telling me that I already have 5 computers authorized. I have a household of Apple devices using iTunes but only two computer.

I just made the move to iCloud from MobileMe. Following the directions on iCloud for iTunes to push of applications to this computer. iTunes said this computer was not authorized. Tried to authorize and got the above. I repaired the permissions, got the above again. Tried to deauthorize the computer and got the above again. What file has to be rebuilt. Reinstalled iTunes hoping the file would rebuild. I've deactivated all computers, the iPad and other MacBookPro (authorized with no problem) show up in the devices. When I authorized the other MacBookPro it said it was one of three out of five allowed.
Ive tried everything I know to no avail. Can't get the 17" authorized.

there's an unknown computer showing up on my shared list.I my get my internet through a wireless router, a BT homehub, and you need a password to get onto the internet.. there are 3 computers in my house connected to that router and they dont even show up under my "shared" list! does this sound like my network is being hacked... and if so how do i protect it (and sorry to say im probably the least technical person when it comes to computers to the simplest explanation would be the best )

Is there a way to remotely deauthorize computers from itunes? My songs were all authorized to play on my computer all of a sudden some are deauthorized and are asking me to authorize it again. Then it says 5 computers are already authorized. I only have 2 in my house right now. The screwy thing is they used to be authorized on this computer anyway.

I want to use the same Itunes library on two computers. I currently have the "Itunes Music" folder on the external hard drive. This works for one machine, but the library files are still on the internal drive. So, if I go into preferences on a different machine, I can point it to the same folder, but it doesn't have the library files.
I found a cheat method I've used before, I use tweakUI to move the My Music folder to the external drive, for both machines, and Itunes puts everything there.
Is there a way I can do this without cheating?
I have searched, googled, etc., and not found a satisfactory answer. Briefly, I have used my ITunes on our MBP and on an old Dell PC. At various times I have downloaded music, TV shows, movies etc to either system. Our AppleTV syncs with the Dell and purchased stuff is on there. I just bought a new 27" IMac and a qnap NAS. I want all the media to be on the NAS. How do I go about "merging" the ITunes data from the two computers into a single file on the NAS drive? Is there a way to do so - without losing stuff or without having to individually go through every single song, show, movie, etc.?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when I purchase a song, and successfully download it, using my computer. The only way to get it to the other computers is by transferring it via my IPhone or IPods. It seems as if I've downloaded something once from Apple, then they don't let me download it again onto a registered machine using the same Apple ID. I would like to set up one ITunes Library so both of my computers can access it. Furthermore I would like to be able connect my IPhone to any of the computers in the house and sync my music, podcasts and applications as normal. Here's what I've tried so far (which worked with my music, but didn't work with podcasts and IPhone application, etc).
1. Copied all the music to my Mac mini.
2. Opened iTunes Preferences and pointed my library to the 'Music' my NAS drive.
3. Went to File > Library > Organise > Consolidate Library.
Now my NAS iTunes library has all my music, but has no library file or XML file in it. Plus if I add ratings to any of my music, the information is not transferred over to my other computer.
I have an iMac and MacBook pro. I have my library on both machines. Keeping it current is a topic for another thread. But what I was wondering is... Is there a way to have both playing the same song simultaneously? I want to have both machines playing so I can keep my iMac in the basement, then bring my MBP upstairs with me. What if I access my iMac's library from my MBP via iTunes shared library? Or something like that??

I recently got a new logic baord in my MacBook, and I think it had messed with my iTunes, because now I can't put new music or apps on my iPhone; so my question is what exactly happens when I deauthorize all the computers? I have ordered a new Retina MBP to replace my early 2008 MBP, and have been contemplating how to manage my music libraries between both computers. My music library is about 60GB, and I don't want to keep it all on my rMBP (to save space with only 256GB available). My 2008 MBP will serve as a repository for all of my music, and regular Time Machine backups will be carried out. I also have a small, portable external drive which will also have all of my music (copied iTunes folder). The goal here is to have the music libraries on my old MBP and this external drive to be identical, for backup reasons as well as to be able to transfer music to my new rMBP when necessary. To do this, I reasoned out the following method:
-Obtain new music on rMBP
-Transfer folder of respective album(s) to copied iTunes folder in external HD
-Connect external HD to old MBP
-Open music files from external HD (they'll copy into both the iTunes library and the iTunes media folder on the old MBP)
-Verify that the music files are in both places
I can also obrain new music on the old MBP and then transfer it to the external HD. This seems like somewhat of a cumbersome manner to go about this (first world problems, I know). Does anybody have any suggestions as to how to streamline, or perhaps even automate this process? I was trying to think of a way I could utilize the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder, but to no avail. Again, my primary goals are as follows:
-To have identical music libraries on my old MBP and the external HD
-To have only a small, can't-do-without-it music library on my rMBP; I could tranfer music over as necessary or play it using the library on the external HD.
