When Im in Itunes i have my ipod connected , but i want to see the music like i see in the library. In a grid!!Â
It only gives me the option to see the music in columns.

My problem is this: A few weeks ago, the (not over-worked at all) HD of my two and a half year old MBP crashed completely. Fortunately, I have Applecare, so the HD was replaced without any difficulty and free of charge, and returned reasonably rapidly. However, all of my data, and perhaps equally upsetting, my entire iTunes collection (not far off 6,000 songs) has also vanished into the ether of cyberspace. (Did I have anything backed up? Um, no. Second moral of the story: Back-ups are Good).
Anyway, I have the entire music collection on two iPods, a classic (80GB) and a iTouch (64GB). My problem is how to restore this collection to iTunes, as syncing either of them at present may result in the further obliteration of the music collection. So, fellow denizens of MR, advise me please: What is the best way to attempt to restore - from an iPod to iTunes - a prized music collection? Senuti has been mentioned; is it recommended, and what does it entail? It was also suggested to me that I use the Classic for this attempted restoration, rather than the Touch.
My itunes library is empty on my new computer, but I have a full library on my ipod. How do I "reverse" sync? I don't see an option in itunes to put all the info from my ipod onto my computer. I see it the other way, which would then erase all the data on my ipod.

This upgrade sent out 5th/6th February 2010 has caused my family's iPods and my AppleTV to disconnect from the iTunes library and demand a return to factory settings for all units. Still have not got any of them to sync with the library or reload the back-up settings in the case of the iPods
I am running a MacBook Pro 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB memory
I opened itunes today and all my music was gone for no reason. The files were still there, so I imported the itunes music folder. That would have worked, but most of my music is in .wav, so all the albums and artists got lost leaving a big jumble of songs. Everything is still intact on the ipod. Is it possible to restore the itunes library from the ipod or am I stuck re-ripping all my CDs?

I have a new Macbook which will only accept iTunes store purchases and will not upload all of my music from my iPod.

with my iPod 5G, I recently switched from automatic synching to adding music manually, because my library exceeds the 60GB storage. Now, in the appropriate iTunes window, I find the options to do so by lists, artists, genres, and albums, and the only option I can use is this last one. However, it does not list them by the name applied to them in my iTunes library, but instead a mixture of artist and album title, which makes it very uncomfortable to handle. I would rather have this list to be sorted exactly by the album names as applied in the title information in iTunes.

I just realized that all that old stuff is also on an old iPod that i have (how I transferred the music to the iMac 2.4 in the first place.Â
How do I get this music into the new 21.5" iMac? The iTunes on the new computer allows me to play it from the iPod, but not move it into the iMac.Â

I previously used Windows with my Ipod - they were synced. I have since purchased a Macbook Pro. My previous Itunes playlist (windows) is on the Ipod, but no longer on my current Itunes (macbook). I want to play music from my Ipod on my Mac and possible transfer music from the Ipod to the Mac. I have ticked 'manually manage', when I plug in the Ipod, however, it does not show any music Ipod content on Itunes.

Everytime I try to sync music onto it on itunes with my Mac computer (which is how I always do t) it won't let me. A message pops up that says "An unknown error has occured (13019)." I connected my iPod nano to my MacBook Air, and opened iTunes to put the music I had just bought onto the iPod. Usually an icon appears on the main screen and on the right hand corner of my music list that says"Add to", so you can click that and drag music to your iPod download list. The screen on the iPod should have said "Do not disconnect charger" but nothing happened. The iPod only charged. This happened once before, and it randomly just started working. This time it won't work.
