ITunes :: Remote App Very Slow After 2.X Upgrade On IPhone 3G
Feb 23, 2012
I'm using Remote on my iPhone 3G to control music from a iMac. After an upgrade to version 2.X of the app, it performs very slow. Loading the library or controlling it can take more than 30 seconds! The previous version 1.X did very well with iPhone 3G. I would like to go back to version 1.X but have no backup of the previous version of the app. In my opinion, this updates should not support or be applied to older hardware, it become so slow that it makes no sense to use the app anymore. update a version that can work fine with iPhone 3G or make version 1.X available in the iTunes Store. Im not updating my apps anymore, because each time I do so, the phone lags more than before.
with the news that Apple may allow for streaming iTunes to an iPhone anywhere from your home, i can anticipate more demand for the Mac Mini. I was looking into getting one as a music server to share my home library thru my MacBook remotely thru Hamachi. Now if I can do the same to a portable device, i am SOLD.
just upgraded to iTunes 11.2.2 and the program freeze any time I try to connect the iPhone. I restarted several times but the behaviour does not change.
I have a new Macbook Air and have a slide show on it in iphoto. I want to project it in a big theater with no Wi-fi and I need to use a remote. Can I use my new iphone? Do I need an appt and can I do it without Wi Fi?
I absolutely cannot get the iPhone remote app to work with itunes for whatever reason!it's driving me crazy never had any issues on my old macbook, its defo on the same wifi, i can ping it etc, I'm faily handy with OSX and the like as i'm a software developer, so I know it's not a firewall issue and the phone is on wifi.
it just doesn't pop up to let me enter the code in iTunes under devices when I'm trying to register the Phone with the machine, for the record the phone has been synced with the itunes library in question and I have clicked the forget all remotes button in iTunes prefs, and the 'look for iphone remotes' box is checked so I've pretty much done everything bar uninstall itunes is that really necessary, is it worth deleting the itunes prefs file??
I can't access my Macbook Pro remotely, specially after several hours of inactivity,, whenever I try to access content of my library through the remote app or the Apple TV I'm unable to wake my Macbook Pro up. Â
My Macbook Pro is 2012 model (the last with de CD Drive) and it's running the Maverick OS, my questions are: Â
* I'm unable to find the "Unable Power Nap while plugged" option on the energy saver tab... is that because the model of my laptop doesn't support that? Â
* In order to access content from my library remotely, should the "Computer Sleep" option on the energy saver be on "Never" instead of the "1 hour" that I'm currently using... or is there a way to still be able to wake up the laptop with those settings
I am disappointed to experience the issues here after the upgrade.
1. Safari 3.1.1 was acting up weird when I was at my dashboard in wordpress. after I edited my php file and save, the link broke and prompted me with, "nothing found for wp-admin" etc pages that I want to access. I can't get into wordpress dashboard anymore. The link can only be accessed from firefox 3.0.8 and previous version of firefox.
2. with this problem arised, I tried to update the OS X from 10.4.4 to 10.5.6, thinking would have resolve the issue. After installing, repairing permission, here are what I have seen so far and got me very peeved.
still unable to access my wordpress dashboard....urrrgh. I have a self-host wordpress blog. Hope anyone can help enlighten me with the above issues and I hope I can be a happy mac user again.... being a mac addict for so long, i hope not to have 2nd thoughts in the OS.
I unfortunately lost my whole itunes library that was on an external hard drive. I was able to download my music and apps stored in icloud. I want to sync my iphone and ipad to itunes for mac without erasing everything on these devices. can this be done keeping all my apps, music, folders intact on these devices.
I recently upgraded my Safari version to 5.1.5 (not sure what it was earlier) - post that update, many websites (eg Gmail) have become exceedingly slow. They load on the Mac and then the final page takes ages to show. The internet connection is fine (my iPad loads them perfectly still) and I've cleared the cache and reset Safari but to no avail.
I just upgraded to OS X in order to take advantage of iCloud and a better user experience, however, I am now finding the performance of my laptop to be reminscent of an old PC... SLOW and lagging. I have tried rebooting several times as well as ensuring I do not have too many pgms open at the same time.how I can get my lappie back up and running at an acceptable speed.
I have an upgrade question also. I have an older PowerMacG4 dual 1.25. Im running OS 10.4.11, it appears that I may be able to upgrade to 10.5. But will I be able to update to 10.5.8, it says that anyone running OS 10.5 can update, but I am unclear, as I thought I read that this requires and intel chip to do so.
Need to update my system so that I can sync and update my iPhone 4 that requires iTunes 10.1, which I can not install now.
I'm having difficulty downloading the newest software for my iPhone. Everytime I try to download the new software a dialogue box appears that says my iTunes is updated to the current version (9.2.1). First of all, why is that appearing at all? And second of all I know for a fact there are more recent versions of iTunes out there...I've seen it. So problem A: my iPhone software won't download so I can update it, I'm assuming I need to download the latest version of iTunes which brings me to Problem B. When searching for the latest update for iTunes, I can download it on my computer but it won't install because it's saying I need to update my OS to 10.5 or higher.
So...do I need to upgrade my OS in order to update my iPhone software and is there a way to go from 10.4.11 to 10.5 for free? If not why do I have to, in the end, pay to update my iPhone software now when I haven't done that since the beginning?
Btw my computer is a MacBook Pro 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo processor.
So I gave my aunt my old core duo MBP as she only surfs the web with it and it is basically useless to me. She had a iPhone 3Gs and broke it, now upgraded to the iPhone 4. I went to sync her iTunes with it and it said it requires OS X 10.5.8 which is leopard and the computer is still on 10.4.11. Is the only way to sync her phone with all of her old data thats on her iTunes to pay for leopard or snow leopard, or whats the protocol here?
I have a iPhone 3GS (iOS 5.1) which I bought at the same time as a MacBook Pro. Last week I upgraded the operating system on the laptop to OS 10.9.4 (Maverick). I have had a heap of minor issues of things not working as they used to, but I have now discovered that the phone isn't synching. Nor is it sending an error message - it just exits the sync program.Â
Below are the specs to my Macbook pro and current version of the OS. I've been thinking about upgrading my OS but wondering if this will slow down my system. The only reason why I am considering to upgrade is because I want to purchase the Roxio Toast 10 Titanium and noticed its requires 10.5. Is it worth me to upgrade? If so how do I go about...I'm new to the macworld so I assume just go to the app store and ask for the cds to upgrade to the latest version?

each 10-20 sec it shows me this damn "Volleyball" and loads for about 10-15 sec. i can't do a thing :-/This is happening for about 3-4 days now.sometimes it works very well for about 3-5 minutes, but then it slows down again :-/working with skype, itunes, internet browser...nothing works fluent :/itunes stops playing songs while loading.
Safari on my 2.16ghz c2d Macbook has ground to a halt all of a sudden. Takes around 30/40 seconds to change between pages on the Forums here, for example. I thought this might just be a Safari 4 bug, but having the same (in fact slightly worse) experience with firefox. Odd thing is that my iPhone, on the same wirelss network is performing at normal (i.e. much faster) speeds. Running 10.5.7, no new apps, downloads or plug-ins, and I've reset safari & rebooted. Even repaired disk permissions. No improvement.
I just installed 8 GB Crucial memory for my 13" MacBook Pro (Late-2011; 2.8 Ghz). I immediately noticed scrolling on safari was jumpy or skipping. It is like this in other applications as well. Even zooming in/out of pdf's and using iphoto. I only purchased this laptop in Feb, and this bothers me. I tested using the Geekbench app. Every benchmark was about equal or much higher except for Processor Integer Performance, more specifically "Image Decompress multi-threaded scalar." It went from 138.3 down to 134.3 Mpixels/sec. Do I have lemon memory? I would almost rather go back to the 4 GB if this laggy performance is a continual issue. One of the things I love about Mac's is now becoming irritating.
Ive recently upgraded my Imac to Snow Leopard and then to Lion. The mac seems to take a long time to boot up now and starting any application is not as rapid as before the upgrades. Also, browsing the net thru Safari is painfully slow.. (alsp very very slow in Firefox) I've alredy done a disk utility verify and repair and the Mac HD repaired OK.. Ive since re-booted and still have all the same issues?
Now, following the Mavericks upgrade a little over 2months ago, it is taking several minutes for browsers to load. It does not matter which one I use, Safari, Firefox, or Chrome. Safari is set as my default. There are no additional plug=ins and I use only one browser at a time, never have 2 open at same time. Do I have too many documents, bookmarks or Reading List? Â
Also several times a day a black screen happens telling me that iTunes has nothing in it. I know this but am bewildered at why it keeps giving me this info. How do I turn it off without removing it, iTunes I mean.
I just got a 27" iMac and love the remote app on my iPod touch but my girlfriend changes the songs constantly while I am on the computer and iTunes pops up every time she changes the song. Is there any way to change this so that iTunes doesn't pop up when she changes the song using her iPod or iPhone?
Ever since I updated to the latest version of Safari, it has been very slow loading webpages and is also a great memory hog. I have been using Firefox (now) and don't have these problems, but I would prefer to use Safari if it will work.
I recently had to upgrade my OS to 10.6 (then to 10.6.8 via update). After the upgrade fro 10.5 though my computer had been running slow, especially safari. I haven't do anything different besides running the update. The only new program(s) I have is Diablo 3 which I know tkes up a lot of processing power, but that wouldn't explain the overall, extreme drop in speed when I'm not playing it.
