MacBook Pro :: IPhone Will Not Sync After OS X Upgrade
Sep 1, 2014
I have a iPhone 3GS (iOS 5.1) which I bought at the same time as a MacBook Pro. Last week I upgraded the operating system on the laptop to OS 10.9.4 (Maverick). I have had a heap of minor issues of things not working as they used to, but I have now discovered that the phone isn't synching. Nor is it sending an error message - it just exits the sync program.
I have an upgrade question also. I have an older PowerMacG4 dual 1.25. Im running OS 10.4.11, it appears that I may be able to upgrade to 10.5. But will I be able to update to 10.5.8, it says that anyone running OS 10.5 can update, but I am unclear, as I thought I read that this requires and intel chip to do so.
Need to update my system so that I can sync and update my iPhone 4 that requires iTunes 10.1, which I can not install now.
I used Macthe Ripper to rip my sons chuggington dvd to my macbook pro, then i used handbrake to convert it, i managed to copy the converted file to my itunes library, but when i symc my iphone 3gs, it says it won't copy the file because it can't be played on my iphone.Several forums mention using the iphone/ipod touch preset when converting in Hnadbrake, now i may be a numpty, but i cant find this preset anywhere?! The closest thing i can see is an apple button/setting.when i selected apple and told it to play again, it said it would overwrite the prev converted verison. It took hours to convert the first time, if I do this, will it really work? Or will I waste another 3 hours?!
I unfortunately lost my whole itunes library that was on an external hard drive. I was able to download my music and apps stored in icloud. I want to sync my iphone and ipad to itunes for mac without erasing everything on these devices. can this be done keeping all my apps, music, folders intact on these devices.
Since the MacBook Air has limited hard drive space, I'm wondering - Would it be possible to "sync" things like music, photos, videos, etc. - like I can with my iPhone? I'm thinking I could sync the MacBook Air with my desktop, and take with me only the photos/music/etc that I want to travel with.
I transferred all my music to this computer, and also authorized it. Whenever I hook up my iPhone to my computer, it appears in iTunes and the iPhone sync page opens, but when I push "sync" nothing happens. Why does my phone not sync to my iTunes now?
I just bought a new Macbook Pro and I cannot get my IPhone 4S to sync with itunes without deleting more than half of my data. I have authorized the computer already and I went through and checked all the boxes for the information I wanted to sync - but the info will not transfer and about half of my Apps were removed from my phone (without being added to itunes on the computer) - I had to go back and reinstall the ones I lost to my phone.
when i hook up my phone to my mac book pro it charges so i know i has a good connection. But when i check in my iTunes to sync my device it does not even show up. my phone is runniong iOS 7.1.2, and my mac is running os x 10.9.4, i just had to reformat my mac so i know every thing is up to date.
Info: MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), iphone 5c iOS 7.1.2 not syncing
I have Macbook OS X 2.16 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 1GB 667 Mhz DDR2 SDRAM and upgraded to the latest i phone 4s. I cannot sync i tunes or videos clips but photos sync ok.
How could I sync my iPhone with my new mac without lose all the contents (I don't have access to my previous laptop which was sync whith the iphone). Actually what I want is to have my stuff from my iphone in my new macbook.
I am totally confused as to why photos taken on my iphone or ipad do not sync over icloud to my MacBook Pro. If I sync manually I end up with everything else such as calendar and contacts duplicated. How can I get the photos to sync over icloud?
I recently had a computer crash and lost everything in my hard drive. The weirdest thing is that when I tried to back up with time machine, it erased my external hard drive instead...so now I have no back up. I just received a new macbook pro, and would like to now sync all the information to my mac, but how can I do that as my purchases, etc. are linked to a macbook that is not longer working (meaning, I cannot retrieve any ID from there)?
I want my images from macbook to synch with iPad, iPhone automatically once I put it on my laptop. Is this possible. I don't want to have to connect my iPad or iPhone to my macbook air once i have pictures to upload.
Messages work great between my iPhone 4 and my MacBook on OS X, except when I send a picture message from my laptop. These don't sync to my iPhone conversations.
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9.3)
How can I sync the photos on my iPhone to my new MacBook Air? I have been assuming that when I back up my phone, my photos and videos are on my iCloud account and could, in principle, be synced to my MacBook Air.
I have an iMac that is my main computer. I download all of my music from iTunes on that computer and update my iPhone through that computer. I also have a MacBook that I use while traveling. Is it possible to sync the iPhone to the MacBook and update the MacBook with whatever is on the iPhone (and not update the iPhone with what is on the MacBook)? The MacBook is not updated (iTunes wise) and I don't want to erase what is on my iPhone. However if I could do the reverse of this then that would be better, that way I can download songs to my iPhone as well as my iPod to update for my vehicle. If this isn't possible, is there any way to somehow get what music is on the iPhone to my iPod so I can play it in my vehicle?
My MacBook Pro hard drive crashed. I rebooted from the Mac OS X install DVD. Now, my itunes is empty. When I tried to sync my iPhone 4, it states that it will erase everything on my phone and replace it with the items in itunes (which is empty). What do I do?
