May 31, 2012I found a bug in Itunes 10.6.1. It seems that when I load album art, not all of the tracks will let the art embed. I have found this to be more prevalent will I convert the tracks to 128 after importing them.

Jun 28, 2014how or why this has started, but iTunes now insists on playing the tracks from every album in totally the wrong order; how to make it play them in the order they are on the album? I tried to see if some kind of 'shuffle' option is switched on but I can't see anything. But every time I click to play an album, when I look in 'up next', it shows me the tracks coming up to play all jumbled up in the wrong order.

i'm having trouble assigning MULTIPLE pieces of album art to MULTIPLE tracks SIMULTANEOUSLY. i see that i can add multiple arts to a single track by:
.. selecting a single track by highlighting -> get info -> artwork tab
.. selecting and playing a single track (so that the speaker icon appears to the left of the track in the playlist; paused or not) -> dragging artwork into the artwork pane in itunes; artwork gets added only to the track with the speaker icon regardless of which track(s) are highlighted. if there is existing artwork, new art gets added (does not replace old art).
also, adding a single piece of art to multiple tracks can be done by: selecting tracks by highlighting -> get info -> info tab -> artwork field (note: artwork FIELD within info TAB of 'get info' dialog, not artwork tab).....................

Dec 11, 2014The NAS containing my iTunes media crashed. I have been able to recover about two-thirds of the tracks directly from the original disks. Luckily the iTunes library file is still intact, so I know what is still missing.Â
There were about 10000 more tracks to recover :-(Â I am currently ripping them all back in. However, I have the problem that when I click on a track which is missing from the media, iTunes spends an interminable time (about a minute) trying something (the rotating beachball spins) before reporting that it cannot access the IP address of my dead NAS. I now have a new NAS with a different IP address. As far as I know, I have deleted all references to the old NAS (in Finder, using Remove from Connect to Server...). iTunes is using the new NAS for storing its media data.Â
How is it that iTunes keeps referring to the old IP address? What must I do to make it stop doing this?Â

Mar 26, 2012Recently purchased the Beatles Box Set from iTunes and am rather disappointed that many of the original album art is missing or applied to the wrong songs. What I would like to do is change the album art. Tried dragging new art to the iTunes icon etc., but just not finding anything that works. I have an app called ID3 Editor but it doesn't handlem4a files.

Apr 1, 2012I've noticed this since iTunes 10.6 where the album art on my music, iTunes purchased or imported, doesn't get transferred over to my iPhone 4S (5.0.1) nor my iPhone 4 (5.1) with "Convert higher bitrate songs to XXX kbps AAC" checked in iTunes.Â
I've tried transferring with Lion and Windows 7 under Bootcamp (both OS are using the latest iTunes 10.6.1) and both are doing the same thing.Â
Is this a bug that Apple is missing (anywhere to send bug reports)?

May 3, 2012Three times in the last week iTunes (10.6.1) is missing coverart for about 30 of 300 movies. This is also happening with music artwork. The artwork can be individually repopulated using "Get Info" but this is really just a bandaid and I would like to know if anyone knows why this is happening and how to fix the root cause.

Jun 12, 2012I have seen that several people have experienced this, and one 'solution' is to delete the album from the iPad and then move it back from iTunes. However iTunes will not let me move the album again onto my iPad. Why not? (I am having to use manual moving rather than syncing because I have another iTunes on a PC, and the iPad seems to have attached itself to that.)

Users have also reported that some of these tools are great at screwing up the existing album artwork in your iTunes library.
I am looking for a batch tool since I have missing artwork on 1000s of songs (note that this album artwork is not present in itunes store). Does anyone know of a good, reliable program or script that can import missing album artwork on iTunes 8 in OS X 10.5?

Feb 26, 2012I keep my large music collection on an external drive connected to an Airport Extreme in my home. I've embedded all my album artwork in the music files, and previously all the album artwork was displaying perfectly in iTunes. After upgrading to iTunes 10.5, however, most of my albums are missing the album art in the album list and Cover Flow. I know that the art is still in the file because it shows up in the "Now Playing" box in the lower left corner of the screen. The only way I have found to get the album art to show up again in the album list and Cover Flow is to go through the following steps: Â Control-click the first track of an album for which the cover art is not displaying correctly. From the context menu that appears, select Get Info.Click on the Artwork tab, then click Cancel.Â
Now the artwork shows up in iTunes in all views. I called Apple Support and asked if there's a faster way to fix the issue with the database. Manually fixing each album for hundreds of albums is no fun. Telling iTunes to Get Album Artwork doesn't work because most of my music was not purchased from iTunes but was ripped from CDs I already own. It's very frustrating because I already spent hours finding and embedding the hi-res album art in my files. I paid extra for Apple products because I expect them to at least avoid corrupting my databases.

I don't even have that album. There was another album of mine that iTunes applied the wrong artwork to as well, but I can't remember it off-hand. Jun 7, 2012I just finished an original rock album, registered it with Gracenote, and it is being sold through itunes and many other places via cdbaby. The album is also available to download via Dropcards to people that buy or receive a download crad from us in person. PROBLEM is, when you download the cd, the tracks are in the proper order as on the album when they are in a folder from Dropcards, then you drag them into itunes and they are in ALPHABETICAL order in the RECENTLY ADDED folder! Under the MUSIC tab, they however are in proper album order. ?? It's good that the cd is properly registered and is in the right order in peoples main MUSIC list, but when I download albums, the easiest way to find the new album is under RECENTLY ADDED, which in my case would have people clicking on the wrong song to start listening to our record (not the intended feel we wanted to start the record with)Â

Jul 7, 2010My laptop crashed last week and I am now on a brand new operating system (windows 7) using a Dell Inspirion PC. Ive lost all my old music off my hard drive. I have a bunch of dvds a mate of mine burned for me back home that i brought to the USA, and i have no idea how i got the music off them originally and into itunes/on my hard drive. I cant copy directly from the dvd to my hard drive as each song is encrypted. I know my mates password in the case that happens in itunes and it asks for it, but im not being given the chance to enter it anywhere. Obviously itunes recognizes the disc and i can play the music in there generally, but i cant copy the music to the library.

However, the artwork and the songs still appear on my iTunes after i deleted them, but if i try to open it the message "the song xxx could not be used because the original file could net be found. Would you like to locate it?" would appear.

ITunes :: Add Tracks To Its Library?
Mar 17, 2012I have just tried to add to albums to my iTunes library. The albums are in folders on my hard drive. Previously I just selected 'Add to Library' from the iTunes drop down menu. This would create a copy of the tracks in my iTunes Library. From there I could drag and drop them into a playlist.I select 'Add to Library' as usual. Select the folder and hit 'Open'. iTunes then creates a playlist for that folder but looks like it is playing the mp3's from their original folder location. It is not actually adding the tracks to my iTunes library.
As far as I know I have not changed any setting. I have been back in and revisited all of the settings options but can't see any issues there either. I have been using this 'Add to Library' method for around 10 years so am curious to find out what is wrong.

May 14, 2012In importing my cd collection to itunes, I've noticed that sometimes it will separate a track or tracks into more than one copy of an album. Why is this and how can I make it stop? It's only happened a couple times but is still annoying. The other day it separated track 2 of a cd from the other tracks, so I had 2 copies of that disc in itunes. One with just track 2 and a second with all the other tracks. Today it separated each track of an entire cd, so I had 10 copies of the same disc, each with one song.
