Three times in the last week iTunes (10.6.1) is missing coverart for about 30 of 300 movies. This is also happening with music artwork. The artwork can be individually repopulated using "Get Info" but this is really just a bandaid and I would like to know if anyone knows why this is happening and how to fix the root cause.

I keep my large music collection on an external drive connected to an Airport Extreme in my home. I've embedded all my album artwork in the music files, and previously all the album artwork was displaying perfectly in iTunes. After upgrading to iTunes 10.5, however, most of my albums are missing the album art in the album list and Cover Flow. I know that the art is still in the file because it shows up in the "Now Playing" box in the lower left corner of the screen. The only way I have found to get the album art to show up again in the album list and Cover Flow is to go through the following steps: Â Control-click the first track of an album for which the cover art is not displaying correctly. From the context menu that appears, select Get Info.Click on the Artwork tab, then click Cancel.Â
Now the artwork shows up in iTunes in all views. I called Apple Support and asked if there's a faster way to fix the issue with the database. Manually fixing each album for hundreds of albums is no fun. Telling iTunes to Get Album Artwork doesn't work because most of my music was not purchased from iTunes but was ripped from CDs I already own. It's very frustrating because I already spent hours finding and embedding the hi-res album art in my files. I paid extra for Apple products because I expect them to at least avoid corrupting my databases.
Usually a CD comes with more artwork than just the cover. It has a CD cover w/ lyrics and other artwork. Is it possible to download this via itunes? If not, who?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have purchased a number of HD and SD movies that include iTunes Extras. All but one of the these movies show as Unknown Album in Cover Flow (under the artwork). The detailed listing in iTunes reflects the correct names. The correct names show up on my iPad and Apple TV. I have worked with Apple Support, to include a senior advisor. We have tried the following at least once and they now tell me they have exhausted all the possible solutions. Confirmed information in Get Info was correct.Changed the information in Get Info.Re-downloaded the movies after deleting the problem movies. This was done multiple times.Reinstalled Mac OS.Deleted and reinstalled iTunes.Â
A few observations. When I delete the Extras from iTunes the title under the artwork for the movie in Cover Flow shows the correct title.The one movie that is correct has one artwork poster for the movie and one artwork poster for Extras. All others have only one artwork poster and appears to share the same artwork poster.The file size represented in iTunes detail listing for the Extras is significantly lower than the file size on my hard drive. The same can be said for the movies (all movies, not just those with Extras), but not to the same degree. For example, one Extras in iTunes is 13mb in the detail listing and on the hard drive it is 772mb. This example and all Extras work correctly.Â

Recently purchased the Beatles Box Set from iTunes and am rather disappointed that many of the original album art is missing or applied to the wrong songs. What I would like to do is change the album art. Tried dragging new art to the iTunes icon etc., but just not finding anything that works. I've noticed this since iTunes 10.6 where the album art on my music, iTunes purchased or imported, doesn't get transferred over to my iPhone 4S (5.0.1) nor my iPhone 4 (5.1) with "Convert higher bitrate songs to XXX kbps AAC" checked in iTunes.Â
I've tried transferring with Lion and Windows 7 under Bootcamp (both OS are using the latest iTunes 10.6.1) and both are doing the same thing.Â
Is this a bug that Apple is missing (anywhere to send bug reports)?

I have converted my dvd's to .mp4's, and itunes just wont add some of them. I've tried dragging the file as well as importing, and itunes simply does nothing. Also, with the movies that I was able to add, when I try to alter the artwork, Itunes stops responding.

However iTunes will not let me move the album again onto my iPad. Why not? I did some searches in google as well as this forum and it looks like there are quite a few options out there for users interested having a program automatically grab missing album artwork from places like amazon if you are running iTunes on Windows.
Users have also reported that some of these tools are great at screwing up the existing album artwork in your iTunes library.
I am looking for a batch tool since I have missing artwork on 1000s of songs (note that this album artwork is not present in itunes store). Does anyone know of a good, reliable program or script that can import missing album artwork on iTunes 8 in OS X 10.5?
My lastest purchases (Since Nov 11) for movies and TV in iTunes do not have any artwork. I have tried to "Get Album Artwork" but it hasn't worked.

I am using the most current version of iTunes (11.2.2(3)) and when I brought it up today all my movie images were missing out of the movie directory/folder. I do not download them to my computer because they take up too much space but the movie images have always been in the directory/folder.Â

But with Snow Leopard coming out tomorrow which feature Expose in the dock now thought i'd ask. I'm sure to some degree this question boils over as your personal productivity preference because i'm wondering what sizes your windows are normally at. For example, say you use Safari or Firefox; is that window taking up the whole screen? If so, why? Ever really think about it? Do you have it full screen cause you wanna surf the web and do your research or procrastinate at the biggest possible size available ...or.... is your Safari/Firefox window not fully screened, simply because you normally have more than just one Firefox or Safari window open, and it makes it easier to navigate multiple windows when they ain't taking up the whole screen?
For example, iTunes for me is possibly the only window I ever fully enjoy being full screen. I love cover flow so have a "space" (3) devoted to iTunes in full screen. In Space 2 (of 6) I have FireFox in full screen but many time throughout the day hate that it's full screen cause I easily need to navigate back to something else, such as the finder or w/e. Anyways, i'm really wondering what others do here, I think it'll be interesting to hear what's up. With SL coming out tomorrow i'm sure Expose in the dock will help big time, but nevertheless.
For some reason, when I download the album artwork from iTunes for "Music from and Inspired by Spider-Man," it instead shows artwork for "Ethnicali: Music Inspired by the Golden State." I don't even have that album. There was another album of mine that iTunes applied the wrong artwork to as well, but I can't remember it off-hand. In any case, does anybody have any suggestions as to what I could do to fix this issue. I already submitted feedback to Apple about the problem as well.Â

I'm just burning my CD library on my Mac. I have purchased a 7th gen iPod to then put them onto. All fine and going really well, but how can I put missing album artwork on those CD's that iTunes has no artwork for?Â

View 7 Replies View RelatedI just finished an original rock album, registered it with Gracenote, and it is being sold through itunes and many other places via cdbaby. The album is also available to download via Dropcards to people that buy or receive a download crad from us in person. PROBLEM is, when you download the cd, the tracks are in the proper order as on the album when they are in a folder from Dropcards, then you drag them into itunes and they are in ALPHABETICAL order in the RECENTLY ADDED folder! Under the MUSIC tab, they however are in proper album order. ?? It's good that the cd is properly registered and is in the right order in peoples main MUSIC list, but when I download albums, the easiest way to find the new album is under RECENTLY ADDED, which in my case would have people clicking on the wrong song to start listening to our record (not the intended feel we wanted to start the record with)Â

I'm new here and about to dip my toe into the Apple pond for the first time. Just placed an order for an i Phone and am preparing my music collection to move at least some of it over to i Tunes for use with the new phone. I currently have it on an external HD in one main folder (CD Collection) and have been using WMP up to now. Stored under that main folder are sub-folders with album titles containing the individual song files in .wav format. I tried to import the files into the i Tunes library by going to FILE and clicking on ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY. I then selected all the album folders and hit enter. It imported them all into one folder. I have around 450 albums. This is not what I had in mind. I had hoped the folder and file organization would have been maintained. Instead I have thousands of music files in one "album."
