Apr 26, 2012I have two separate Apple IDs and while I understand I can't merge them, can I get the music from both into one itunes library and then sync my iphone with this library. I just want to be able to listen to music from my new and older account on the same iphone.Â

Dec 1, 2008I am using a FON router connected to my DSL router in order to have wifi at home. So far I can access the internet on both my iPhone and just recently purchased Apple TV without any problem.
However I can't seem to getting these devices to show up in the iTunes "devices" list in order to be able to use the application "remote" with the iPhone and in order to synchronize the iTunes library to my Apple TV?
I have tried everything visible on the apple support pages and other things found via google too but it is not working.
Is there a possibility that I need to forward some ports from my DSL Router to the Fon router (officially called La Fonera) and then also configure the FON Router?
An additional problem that I am having and am in contact about with FON Support is that I can't seem to acces the management console of the Fonera. I get stuck at entering username and password (admin, admin) but the pop up window keeps returning to enter usern. and passw.

Mar 23, 2012When I first set icloud up it wouldn't recognise my apple id but I made a new apple id and then managed somehow to get my apple ID for itunes store and icloud to be the same. However, I have just updated my iphone operating system and when it asked me in the initial setting up process for my Apple ID which is an email address it wouldn't recognise it again! Grrr! So the only way to get into my phone was to create another Apple ID for icloud on Iphone. Â
I now have one apple ID for my iphone icloud, for online icloud and for itunes purchases, and another for the support communities and icloud on my macbook! When I tried to log into the 'manage my account' with the new ID it switched mid process to my old one?! Why can't apple just allow me to manage my ID, where are the options?I can't upload my photostream from my Mac because the online icloud is using the new ID but I can't change the Apple ID in icloud system preferences anywhere!

Mar 13, 2012I've been syncing my devices for years, but after I updated to iTunes 10.6 then attempted to sync my iPhone 4, iTunes aborts and does not complete the sync. I tried my iPad as well with exactly the same results. So, I expect that something has begun corrupted in iTunes and I tried to revert to the previous version of iTunes with Time machine, but the Mac reported that I cannot remove iTunes.It could be a library that is corrupt or a cache of some sort, but I can't tell.Â

Mar 25, 2010Virtually every major browser and operating system were targets at this week's "Pwn2Own" hacking contest, with Apple Safari, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer 8 vulnerabilities exploited, along with flaws in the iPhone OS.
On the first day of the competition based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, researchers found a way to take advantage of Apple's Safari browser in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, its latest operating system, according to CNet.
Unsurprisingly, Charlie Miller, principal security analyst with Independent Security Evaluators, took home the $10,000 prize after he hacked Safari on a MacBook Pro without having access to the machine. He's the same researcher who cracked Safari in Mac OS X last year, taking home the $5,000 prize. He also hacked a MacBook Air in 2008 at the competition.
Miller has also repeatedly said that he believes Macs are a safer alternative to Windows PCs for average users. He cited the lack of malware on the Mac platform as the principal reason for his recommendation.
Last year Miller also discovered an SMS hack in the iPhone that Apple quickly patched after it was made public. But researchers at this year's Pwn2Own found yet another SMS hack to take home a $15,000 prize.
Ralf-Phillip Weinmann, from the University of Luxembourg, and Vincenzo Iozzo, from German company gained access to an iPhone that was not "jailbroken," a procedure that allows users to run unauthorized code and unlock the handset for use on unapproved carriers.
By making a user visit a malicious Web site, the exploit allowed the researchers to access the phone's entire database of text messages, including deleted ones. The two wrote the hack in about two weeks, and the data was received in the competition in under 20 seconds.
The two said the hack could be modified to allow access to more data, such as contacts and photos. The transfer takes place without the victim ever knowing they have been hacked.
By accepting prizes at the Pwn2Own competition, put on by TippingPoint, the exploited methods are revealed only to the affected company so that they can patch the exploits.
Also hacked in this year's competition was Microsoft's Internet Explorer 8 browser. Peter Vreugdenhill, an independent security researcher from the Netherlands, took home a $10,000 prize by taking advantage of two vulnerabilities for a four-part hack that compromised the user's system.
Another person who went solely by Nils, the head of research MWR InfoSecurity in the U.K., discovered an exploit in Firefox in the 64-bit version of Windows 7. He took home a $10,000 prize.[ View this article at [URL]]

Support pages for iPad's Pages, Keynote, and Numbers apps each note that "printing directly from iPad is not currently available," rather than simply stating that the apps do not print. For now, Apple directs users to send their documents to a desktop computer that can print them, either via email or using iPad's new File Sharing feature in iTunes.The ability to print via Bluetooth or WiFi may likely be part of Apple's iPhone 4.0 announcement on Thursday. Apple could avoid the need to include the massive amounts of (often buggy) printer drivers used by Windows or Mac OS X by simply supporting a limited subset of printing options.

Apr 11, 2008I am having a very difficult time setting up my Google apps IMAP e-mail account to work correctly with Apple Mail 3.0, as well as with my Apple iPhone, and I was hoping that somebody could please help me get this figured out once and for all. I have followed all of the Google apps IMAP e-mail setup instructions to properly configure your IMAP e-mail clients, but despite this I am still having problems getting everything working properly. I'm currently using an iPhone with firmware version 1.1.4, and I have manually configured my Gmail account on my phone. I mention this because Google has clearly specified that there are different instructions for handling the proper deletion/archiving of e-mail messages depending on which version of the firmware you are using. My main problem has to do with properly mapping my IMAP labels, with the corresponding Apple Mail 3.0 folders and the folders on my iPhone. I havve searched for the answer to my questions repeatedly on the Internet, but most of the articles and blog posts that I have find that describe the the proper methods of setting things up correctly were either originally posted before the recent Gmail IMAP implementation, or before Gmail version 2.0 became available (or before things changed with version 1.1 .3 of the iPhone firmware). Needless to say, it's been difficult to find a relevant article that applies to the current scenario under which I am trying to set things up.......

Jan 21, 2009I have an iBook G4 that runs on OS X. Today, my software update box popped up, and I downloaded the new version of itunes. It worked. Then the other update didn't finish. I'm not sure if that's connected. Now, my itunes won't open. When I first tried, nothing would happen. So I restarted the computer, but it wouldn't full restart (stuck on the box with an apple, acting like it was starting up but never did). So I did an archive install with my discs. That worked. But now when I try to open itunes, a box pops up and says that "you cannot use this application with this version of OS X." What?? I feel tricked and panicky. What can I do?

Apr 3, 2010Running iTunes v. 9.1.0.79. Trying to get ringers on an iPhone 3gs I just purchased yesterday. All of the methods I am seeing (outside of jailbreaking which I don't wan't to do) are not working. I'm assuming that the version of iTunes I am running has corrected the ways that people were using to get ringers. Anyhow, I have mp3 ringers from my other phone saved on my computer. I've tried importing them, converting them to AAC format to no avail. Is there any value in going down in versions to regain the ringer function. Is that possible? I gotta say, I am extremely underwhelmed by the choice of ringers in iTunes. I feel like I've gone back 10 years. if anyone knows of any other way to get ringers onto the iPhone (without jailbreaking) I'd love to hear them.
