IMac :: Intel Core 2 Duo OS X 10.6.5 Completely Freezes And Crashes
Nov 24, 2010I have a problem with my iMac 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (2 GB 667 MHz DDR 2 SDRAM), running OSX 10.6.5. OSX crashes and freezes all the time. Nothing works anymore. Sometimes it just freezes, and I can only move my cursor, but nothing reacts anymore. Sometimes the screen blacks (or sometimes blanks) out or shows the weird moving colours as shown on the photo I just took below: After restart, it often happens again and again. Then the iMac is fine for a couple of days, before it freezes again. Can anyone diagnose the problem from the info above?

When I try to play the movie I get error: "This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes."When I try to move it to my iPad I get the error: "The Great Escape (1963)" was not copied to the iPad (My iPad) because it cannot be played on this iPad." I have iTunes 10.6.1 (7) 64-bit on a brand new iMac 2.7 Ghz Intel Core i5 with OSX 10.7.4. I'm a little ticked that I can't see a movie I just paid $9.99 for.

Feb 13, 2012I recently rented a movie for my son to watch, but have not been able to view it because iTunes is telling me that my computer is not authorized to view the movie. It gives me the option of authorizing the computer if I enter my iTunes Store password. I do and it gives me the same error message with the opportunity to again enter my password. If I click CANCEL it tells me what I already knew, and that is that the computer is already authorized. The rental purchase was made from this Mac and yet I'm not able to purchase it. Is there something that needs to be fixed in order to play this, or is this a bug in iTunes 10.5.3?

Jun 2, 2012Rented a movie from iTunes on my MacBook Air. The download completes but the movie won't play. It says that iTunes can't execute my request and that I should try again later. The error message number is -42110. Been trying later for two days and nothing's changed. Still get the same error message. What's odd is if I check for available downloads, it downloads the movie all over again expct it still won't play.

Jun 21, 2012Every few weeks my iMac will suddenly freeze, the screen going black or white or pink etc. The only way I can get the computer back is to hold down the power button to force a shutdown. Then after a restart everything is OK for a few more weeks. Usually it occurs when I am on the internet. I click on something and suddenly the computer is frozen. I am on OS X 10.6.8 and usually use Safari. Ironically when I opened this forum 5 minutes ago there was a similar sounding problem at the top of the list!

Dec 18, 2009first, I didn�t know if this thread should be here or in Buying Tips, but anyway. My doubt is about the brand new 27� iMac�s processor, If I should buy a more GHz one, but with only two cores, or should I buy little bit less GHz one, but with four cores.
It really worth pay $200 more? It really worth the four cores? My main needs are run CS4, some Final Cut, maybe Logic Studio, and switch between different OS's (OS X, Windows, and Linux). I think even a 21.5� model would be more than enough, but I just wonder If Quad Core gonna give me more power (I hope so).
