View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed Windows 7 Ultimate on iEmulator V (Virtual Machine) and everything is fast and awesome but there is no sound! I think it's a driver issue as Ubuntu on iEmulator V works fine but I don't know how to get drivers! I have tried some realtek stuff but that hasn't worked!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently used Boot Camp to create and install a Windows 7 partition on my MacPro. Windows runs fine except that I'm not getting any sound. This must be some kind of driver issue but I don't know where to turn.
I know this must be addressed here somewhere but I did a search and couldn't find a thread on it so I apologize in advance if this is a common question.
I've got the latest MBP 13inch with Vista installed on Bootcamp. I've turned the sound all the way up and it's still very low. I've got all the latest boot camp drivers installed, I've tried viewing different videos trying to see if the video was the culprit, but unfortunately it wasn't. I searched around and I've seen others with this issue, but haven't found a fix.
I've watched the same videos in Leopard that I did in Vista and they're a lot louder.
I recently installed Windows Vista Home Basic through BootCamp on my MacBook Pro. Everything works fine, except for the one thing that there's no sound... At the moment if i start something with sound, you'll see "the green bar jump up and down" But no sound... Tried to search for an audio driver, and installed one, (not sure which one it has to be though) But it didn't help...
Have tried uninstalling the whole lot and reinstalling it again, same thing happened, when i put in the Max OS x for the driver installation i recall it saying removing Realtek Audio or something, so search for that, but didn't help :/
Any ideas to would i could try to do?
I have tried installing the RealTek drivers on Windows 7 in BootCamp. I get sound, but its all fuzzy and unclear.

I downloaded the Realtek drivers from their website .. but still no avail! The Speaker Icon indicates that there is "No Audio Output Device Installed"

Had a quick question. I'm on my third 27" stock 3.06Ghz imac that was replaced yesterday. The good news is that so far it doesn't seem to have any of the problems of my previous two 27" imac's. There is one thing though. A couple of seconds after pressing the power button to bootup there is a brief mechanical sound from the dvd drive like a quick ejecting sound even though there is no cd in the drive. My first 27" imac dvd drive made the sound but the second imac 27" Imac I had didn't. Is this sound normal? Would be curious to know why two out of the three 27" Imac's I had make that noise.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm fairly new to the MAC world and have not found my way around this computer completely. I have seen a commercial of an iMAC sending email and a swishing sound occurred when the email was sent. I wonder how one turns on the sound that indicates the email has been transmitted? And, are there choices of different sounds for this purpose?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAre you able to update one computer (iMac) and send to either another imac or laptop? E.g. Installed update 10.6.3 on my iMac, and I able to use that same update on my MBP without having to download it again? Like using the update file I downloaded and installed on my mac and sending (via say bluetooth) to laptop and installing?

I was wondering if som1 could tell me if the 3gb switch would help my com, however prove or not proven at all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded the RAM on my iMac PowerPC, but after installing the new modules, nothing would come up when I boot it. It gives me 2 (or three) of the "dial tone" beeps, the light flashes on and off and the only thing running would be the fan, running at an ultra high speed.I did install the correct modules, which are 2 x 1gb 184 pin DDR PC3200 400mhz ones, but I realize that they are high density ones. Dumb question here, but would that be the problem?

I installed them both in their own slots, made sure that they clicked in.when I connect all the cables in and turn it on I get no boot sound.I decided to take one of the new ram out and installed an old one it boots up. It reads that it has 3gbs of ram.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a PowerPC Imac. I have OS 10.4.11 installed on it. Today I started it up and it was working fine, however it froze while trying to load Photoshop. I had to force shut down and when I tried to reboot, I got a flashing folder and question mark. I have tried running Disk Utility, but it gets stuck at the Gathering Disk Information stage. I have tried resetting the PRAM (I think that's what it's called). It won't let me start up in safe mode or single-use mode. When I try to specify a startup disk, my hard drive is not listed.
What do I do? Is there any way to salvage this? My biggest concern are my pictures of my family that I unfortunately have not backed up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI phoned up AppleCare and they are kind enough to mail me back two recovery discs free of charge (they are white instead of grey, and printed as replacement discs)
Today I tried to boot from the disc to see if it works, after I chose the language, there's a msg saying "Mac OS X cannot be installed on this computer" and the two options that I have is to restore from Time Machine or restart.
So I checked the version of the disc in OSX, I discover that it's actually 10.6.1, instead of 10.6.2 which ships with Core i5/i7 iMacs.
Then I phone up AppleCare yet again to see if they have send me the correct disc. The guy asked of my serial number and after a while of checking, he said they have sent me the right disc. They say the discs that come along with the core i5/i7 are actually 10.6.1 as he sees from his system.
If I want to do a clean install of OSX I have to delete and format the volume first, he said.
I am not convinced, how come a recovery disc version could differ from the one that's actually installed?
I have moved an Early 2008 iMac with an Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 GHz processor and OS X version 10.9.3 to a summer home where I have an HP psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one Printer. I have attempted to load the driver for this printer using System Preferences/ Printers and faxes. When I select the + I find my psc 2400 printer listed when I select add I get the message: Some of the software for the printer is missing. You may have to reinstall the software to be able to successfully print. There is the option to continue. Selecting this button I get the message: The software for the printer was installed incorrectly. Please reinstall the software from the manufacturer. This printer was purchased when I had a Mac with a power PC chip and OS X version 10.4.1 which can not be loaded into the current computer. Is there a way to load the driver software that seems to be missing?
