I have a Imac 27", bought ut two weeks ago. Some days ago the double tap on mouse made the screen to be zoomed in. Now it doesnt work anymore. When i go to settings- mouse , then its saying there that the double tap to zoom its activated- BUT IT DOESNT WORK ANYWAY??

My mouse cannot left-click on anything. Cannnot open a or close a document by left clicking. It will open or close via pull-down menus and right-clicking. It also cannot select anything or drag anything. I have used several mice, no change. It all works okay when I safe-boot (restart holding down the shift key) but after regular start-up, it doesn't work anymore. Is this a virus?

Since we added 2 new Imacs to our network last week, anytime we double click on a file, it makes a copy...if you double click on the copy it opens up. If you drag file to the Quark icon, it opens OK, but you can only do 1 save, then you have to do Save as because you get "unexpected end of file encountered". We have a simple network that assigns IP addresses to those things on the network if that helps. Any ideas?? Oh yea, new imacs are running Leopard and we are still using Quark 6.5 on them...one has 7.1 loaded, but it has the same problems.

View 1 Replies View Related My work computer id acting up. I am running Mac OS X, using a standard, single-button mouse. The problem is, it doesn't want to simply click once and double clicks at random times. I'm not sure when it will happen next, but it's getting annoying. Also, it seems the computer is having trouble highlighting text. When I scroll over text to highlight, it will not stay highlighted. This makes quick copying and pasting impossible.
Keep in mind, this is a work computer and I would not be able to directly manipulate files. Also, our "IT" person usually guesses until she gets it right.
Note: I know that there are probably threads related to this topic, but I did not find any in my searches. I guess the forums match the machines when it comes to not finding what you need.
My imac core i7 arrive (it's great). However, the question I have is that when I double click (left) my my magic mouse (yes I enable the right/left click buttons). So when I double click the mouse on a web browser on the empty space (the space to the right of the red/yellow/green button, nothing happens. I want to send it to the bottom of the dock like in all of my previous mac. The double clicking of the mouse does nothing. Note: please don't confuse my simple question with the System Pref/Doc (minimize windows into application icon) situation. I know how to do that. I just want to minimize the current windows by double left clicking and sending it into the dock? How do I do that?

New to Mac computers. When trying to open computer after being in sleep mode, I clicked the mouse to open the password screen, & a blank blue/black screen appeared & the mouse timer( colored circle) appeared, as if to be waiting. I had this problem before in Leopard (with different mouse) but now it seems the problem has returned with snow leopard. has anyone else had this problem? I checked the mouse properties and there's nothing strange there. I also don't have custom drivers installed. Just default snow leopard drivers.

I get it set up then I go over to itunes and click a sound and normally I would then follow with a double click to get Itunes to play that song and now I do it and it does nothing. Same with Adium and any files I try to open but on firefox it works perfectly fine. I went over the settings 10 times and still can't figure it out.
View 2 Replies View Related6 month old MBP 15", been running 100% fine, plugged it into a projector the other day and it auto changed the screen resolution. I unplugged the device, went into settings and changed my screen resolution back to it's factory size as well as command & the minus key to make sure I wasn't zoomed in on anything.
I then did a system update for the following; Airport utility, Safari, Ricoh Printer, Digital Camera Raw, java, Itunes.
Restarted the computer as the updates had finished, then when turning back on the loading screen with the grey background, apple symbol and rotating loading symbol was zoomed in as much as the resolution would allow. So i restarted a couple more times, still the same thing - every time i turn the computer on the loading screen is massivly zoomed in, once it's done loading and moves to the log in screen it is fine.
I've tried plugging into the projecter again and editing my settings, that did nothing. It's like because i updated while the settings where wonky it's saved it somehow?

This is unnerving. At random intervals, my screen flashes. It more like "winks" - as though a screen capture was being made. Actually, when you make a real screen capture, the screen doesn't wink, but that's the impression I get. The screen doesn't flicker or flash like it's a hardware bad connection, but goes through a fast, but continuous normal-white-normal cycle. I'm looking at my activity monitor to see if something is unusual, but I can't tell. Everything I look up seems to be real.

I'm basically trying to make a "save as" version of a project so I can change what I have without risk of losing everything I've done. But every time I save a new version of the project (and even rename it, store it on another drive, etc.), the changes I make to the new version are also made to the original.I'm also not getting the popup "duplicate project" window (which should give me a choice of where and how to save the project) I'm supposed to get when I click on "Duplicate Project." How can I simply save a fixed version of my project?

For three weeks now, the windows on my desktop turn blue and separate when I click on a link or open another window. I had the hard drive replaced; Apple diagnostic found nothing. Accidentally discovered it happened when I used my mouse. Scroll only worked forwards, not back or to the side. Replaced mouse with new, identical model. Still happens. Then I used an old mouse from 2003, no scroll wheel, but it seems to work fine.
