OS X :: Cursor Moves To Yes On Pop Up Menus
Mar 21, 2010Every time a menu pops up asking me to choose yes or no, the mouse automatically moves to the yes like it's ready for me to click. I'm pretty sure I set it to do this a while ago, but I forgot how to change it back. It's late, I'm frustrated, and this is bothering me. A few searches didn't get me anywhere. Anyone know what I'm talking about and/or how to change it back?

OS X :: Trackpad Moves Cursor But Cannot Click
Aug 18, 2009I have been trying to do some research on this, but it seems so specific, and all the trackpad stuff is about the ones on the new macbook line. I have a MacBook that I got towards the end of 2006. Here is a link to the tech specs. I have the 2.0Ghz one.

As soon as I turn on my computer, if I use the built in trackpad and mouse, I can move the cursor around, and the keyboard still works, but if I try to click anything by either tapping the trackpad or hitting the buttons, it won't click. However, if I shut the computer down and plug in a USB mouse and then restart the computer, the USB mouse works. If I even slightly brush the trackpad or hit the mouse button on the computer, the USB mouse will stop working and I have to restart again.

Apr 13, 2012My trackpad shows no visible change, however my cursur moves on its own, clicks on things, drags icons, and at other times refuses to move. Sometimes for a moment it will work, but then it is back again. I highly suspect malware. My computer worked fine, there is no sign of hardware damage and I reset my Pram.

OS X :: Cursor Moves Automatically To Install Button
Aug 31, 2009When I try to run an app which requires Rosetta, the install Rosetta dialog box appears which is fine. However, the cursor automatically actually moves to the dialog box and positions itself right above the Install button. It doesn't actually click it but it kinda freaked me out to see it happen.

Cursor to the right, page moves left, cursor up, page down. While his entire bottom was on about half of the keyboard, he seemed to be mostly on the volume key, because I could hear the blip, blip, sound that key makes.

Jan 24, 2010Not familiar with the mac at all, as this post will demonstrate On the desktop, the background is now expanded and when you move the cursor, it navigates by an annoying combination moving the cursor and moving the background until an icon is under the arrow. I screwed around with the display and some other preferences, but i cant figure out which setting I need to modify to get it back to a static background (of normal size) and a cursor that moves to an icon.

Jun 20, 2014I have a few accounts on my Mac (Mavericks) that I use to train, operating my Mac with Airplay mirroring for demonstration. While in my primary account, Airplay (AppleTV3) works fine. Until recently it also worked fine while in my other accounts (all Admins).Â
About a month ago, Airplay with the secondary accounts no longer shows the mouse cursor. I can see the effects of the mouse (Dock magnifies, apps still open, etc.), but I can't see the actual cursor moving around the screen. My primary account continues to show the cursor during Airplay.Â
I created a new user account (Admin), and the new user account also is missing the cursor during Airplay. Updated all software, restored the AppleTV.Â

Sep 13, 2014I've recently purchased a 0.5m thunderbolt cable to connect my Macbook pro to my 27" iMac. All is fine until I exit Target Display Mode (apple F2). At that point the cursor disappears. Very annoyingly, I can just about trace it's whereabouts via the various cues on web browser windows, and through trial and error navigate to the apple menu and restart, whereupon it's all back to normal. How I can prevent it from happening?Â

Aug 22, 2014My colleague reported me something a bit strange a creasy. They told me that the icon folder is following the cursor mouse. (It's not a joke)Â . I just experienced this right now, and I am going to explain step by step, what I did.Â
I opened Finder
I selected a folder to move it into the Favorite section (in order to access it quickly via the favorite bar)
I placed it between Desktop and Document.
While I move that folder, the folder icon appear close to the mouse cursor. This is normal
BUT when I released my button mouse in order to create the folder favorite, (between Desktop and Documents), the folder icon remind on the cursour mouse, and follow it.Â
Nothing freeze, I can mouve the mouse but it do not react to a click.Â
To "remove" the folder icon, I have to relauch the Finder (cmdt+shift+esc), or some time, it desappear after 3-4 minute.
When the icon is remove, the mouse is not working perfectly for a moment.Â
We have this problem while we mouve a pdf, or a .doc file.
My colleague work on iMac 10.9.4.
This problem happen while we want to create a favoris to a local folder or to a remote folder.Â
4/6 collabrators have this problem and there are all in the same office.
The particularity, they have all a wireless mouse, but I do not think the mouse devise cause this problem..Â

Aug 26, 2008I just got my iMac, and I have a problem with mighty mouse. Sometimes, when I move the mouse just a little, the pointer will "jump" to one side of the screen... it's very frustrating.
Is it due because my mousepad has different colours on it ?
That's my only explanation. Maybe the mousepad different colours cause reflection on the pointer that make it jump all over the screen...

Mar 4, 2008I've had two crashes (really weird ones) since I got my mac pro 3 weeks ago. Is that too many to have and should I be worried about this?
Description: The screen distorts - I see a version of the app I had open but it's all distorted and pixelated. There are medium to small squares everywhere that imbue things w/ different colors. I can move a version of the pointer around (almost like a pointer attached to a box) but I can't click on anything. Nothing responds.

OS X Mountain Lion :: Computer Responds Slower When TM
Aug 21, 2014My machine has 64 Gig RAM, 3.5 GHz 6-core Intel Xeon, and my main drive is a RAID consisting of 4 SSDs. What I notice is that the user response time (for opening new Finder windows and such) is slower when the Time Machine is backing up. It's not stuck - it backs up properly, but my user interface experience gets laggy when it's active. This didn't used to happen even on a much lower-spec machine (both were using WD external USB hard drives for the Time Machine backup). What can I do to keep the TM from slowing things down? I don't want to back up less frequently - I want the high specs of the expensive hardware to give me a wait-free workflow even while backing up, and I'm hoping there's a software-side solution to that. I know it's possible, since my old 10.6 Mac Pro machine didn't do that, and I would think with the good hardware, it should be faster.

I have gone to Safari > Preferences > Javascript on/off/on again & Deleted cookies all to get further warnings. Popped up 3 more times.
